There wasn’t a manual for this. If only Sadie had given them a book called, ‘Your Wonder and You’ or something that would make all of this…easier but…

She hadn’t. That would have certainly made things easier but…he had to work with what he had, and the first thing that Lisse seemed to have was…

…Tulips. Hundreds and hundreds of tulips. They were in colors that he didn’t know tulips came in, and they were all laid out in rows. Of course, some had gone places they shouldn’t have, but the effect was still wonderful. Maybe he could take up gardening and fix some of the rows and…

No, no he was here for a reason, and that reason was finding this magical ring that would let him send letters…and he wouldn’t find it staring open mouthed at a flower field.

But…he really wanted to just stare open mouthed into the flower field…it was stunning. Still, Lisse slowly began to turn in place, getting the layout of the land and seeing two buildings within reach, one was a great…cathedral looking building? It was lovely, large with a big, fancy…spire? Tower? Something out front. And the other was a smaller structure, with a broken windmill adorning the rooftop. Something about the windmill made his head feel a little funny, though that could have simply been the flowers too, and Lisse made his way towards the windmill cottage.

One thing about this place…it was quiet. He had grown used to the city noises by now, the low rumble of traffic, the hum of electricity that never seemed to vanish…and back in Bailey, there were sounds of nature...bugs and scurrying and noises that…weren’t…here. This place had no noise…save for the soft breeze that rustled through the flowers.

It was eerie.

Honestly, Lisse didn't like it, and he swiftly made his way to the cottage, reaching for the handle on the door and jumping as it fell off at his touch, the door itself falling off of the very rusted hinges. Ah. So it was going to be like this, then…he shouldn’t be surprised but…thankfully Halle wasn’t here to hear the yelp that had escaped when the door fell, and with that comforting thought, Lisse entered the small cottage, looking around and coughing slightly from the dust that had been whipped up.

The main room was small, but there was a desk near the window with a beautiful view of the tulip fields, and on the desk was a small box with a name written on it in a fancy script.

Lisse.

With a huff, he reached for the box and opened it, revealing a small but fine ring. It was swirled and looked like a girl’s ring but…it was pretty regardless. The area where a stone would be on a normal ring had a strange but lovely hybrid of a tulip and the symbol that adorned his outfit…this had to be it. The ring that Sadie had mentioned.

Slipping it on his finger, Lisse drew a piece of paper and pen from his subspace pocket and swiftly scribbled a note to his brother.

Quote:
Halle,

I win! I found my ring first. See you soon! Hope this works, though if it doesn’t, you’ll never know!”

He folded the paper and wrote his brother’s name on it before pressing the ring to it and grinning as it vanished.

…Okay, so that was a good sign…and now? Now he had done what he had come to do so…in theory, he could go lay in the flowers…

Everyone should lay in flowers at least once in their life, right?

Right.
