Reillan 1 He was going on a walk through the bush when his ankle was caught in a snare and he was dangled upside down. Well, today had just gotten pretty crappy, all the blood rushed to his head, the trap was well set and he was for the most part effectively stuck, he did have the upper body strength to reach up and relieve the pressure on his head by curling his body up. Better than nothing, he couldn't hold it for long but it would help.
"Hello!" He screeched. He was not a good captive, this was either a bandit snare which would be odd considering the location but one never knew or more likely a critter snare, made to catch dinner. He was pretty sure he wasn't going to end up as dinner, though that did depend on exactly what came up that trail. He eyed it speculatively.
Thankfully for him the owner of said trap wasn't all that far.
If he had been this could have been a very different story. A brisk wind blew, disturbing a thick dreadlock or two . Reill was very proud of his mane, it was very manly and showed his excellent prowess in the ring, not that he had been near that fight ring in a good while.

Rathian 1 Little did he know that the scene that was about to unfold was rather like how his parents had met and found interest in each other as ancient as they had been then.
"Just hanging out or what?" He asked sarcastically of the Oban swinging rather forlornly in the hunting snare. He had made it an ouch less one for good reason evidentally.
"Hold on, I'll get the trip wire." Rathian stumped to the the tree with the trigger and tripped the mechanism, slowly lowering the Oban to the ground so he wasn't injured. "I was after something...meatier than you."
He rolled his eyes and started to reset the trap. "What brings you out here?" The male had a military bearing but was not in a very military setting, it was quite peaeceful over here in fact.
He rubbed his hands now that the trap was reset. The cold was starting, or at least cooler than the summer had been and he felt it deeply. He liked fire and warmth at this time of year.

Reillan 2 As if he could do anything but hand out in his current states until the kid let him down. Soon enough though he was lowered blissfully. He groaned a bit as he finally lay flat on the floor. Blood rushed back to where it was supposed to be. It hurt, it tingled but he hadn't had to stay up there overly long, Thank the gods.
"I must say you had that cleverly hidden." He had lost concentration only for a moment and stepped in a unsuspicious pile of leaves. That had been all it took to wind up upside down in the most awkward position possible. He had been someone of rank and he had been caught by a kid. He peered, a familiar kid it seemed.
"Hmm, you wouldn't happen to be from the Darroch/Duri clan huh?" The kid looked like the twins and their Mother with a bit of Rydan thrown in. He ha to be right. The answer was stamped all over the kid's face.

He helped brush the giant oban off after he stood.
"Sorry eh, wasn't meant o catch you ." He was kind of surprised that the trap had handled it so well. It was a heavy earthling before him. He was long and lanky himself fine boned like his Mom and tallish for his age. Must be that last remnant of Alkidike blood.
Rathian froze and squinted, "Aye I am a Darochduri. He puffed out his chest a bit. His family was 'known' ! Cool! He wasn't at the Ninyelt ranch as often as the others. Usually the twins were there on beast taming business. Or Rath may have eventually bumped into Reillan there. It was a bustling place, that ranch.
He himself didn't spend too much time there, usually errands or a family visit. He had met the man's family but he didn't know they belonged to this particular oban.

"Thanks," He accepted the assistance.
"No harm in trapping food for your family. Downright noble actually, so long as its handled well." He had done as much a time or two after all. No harm, no fowl, the kid hadn't done it on purpose.
"Well then, if anyone asks I am graceful," he straightened his shirt out and marched down the trail. He paused "You don't have any more down there do you?" It would waste both of their times if he was caught again. Tarps were better without having people in them. He chuckled. "Come lad, guide me though your warren so that I may at last be on my way. He smiled genially. Any member of Darochduri clan was alright by him. They were well respected in general in the local area and Oba as well. After all Variel had nearly had one of the twins as a mate he figured but in the end the twins had other ideas. They left Variel's honor intact and kept her friendship and that opened her up to meet her real mates.

Rathian 3 "Ahh, well yes, there are indeed more down there, sorry about that." He rubbed the back of his neck mildly self conscious but the male had been quite nice about the whole thing. He came forward and walked beside the older man down the trail.
"Hey, do you have any brothers and if so how do you deal with them? My brother's say I am not old enough and they won't let me do anything. All they say is I am not ready yet and its actually very frustrating. I just want to help them and they refuse to let me." Zasha did cool stuff, the twins did cool stuff and he was left out.
There he had finally said it, of course it had to be with a stranger but whatever. Hopefully this man that knew of his clan would help him out in this small way. It would do him good he thought, to hear an outside opinion. Someone who wasn't too imbedded in the matter, like he was.

Reillan 4 He hummed wisely, smart of the boy to pump him for information. It was always wise to seek advice from people that had had experience in other areas then yourself or who were older and wiser themselves, but care must be taken to talk to actually wise people and not fake wise people, though it was usually pretty easy to spot them in the army, they were always copying never innovating.
"I do have a brother. I understand him very well but not perfectly. He has moments that greatly confused me. I must admit, we have not talked for a few years. I am not sure what happened to him." He sighed.
Moving on, "You can't really understand anyone in particular all of the time." It just didn't work like that. He had tried for years with multiple people but there were just too many variables to keep track of everything in a meaningful way. "Plus people change over time so who you knew last year might be different next year or further down the line, most people keep their cores but I've seen that change too."
"What you can do is figure out when you need to be patient and when to push it takes time and bonding to achieve right. Your twins have it down pat but they have a distinct advantage." Nothing like having identical minds and bodies.

"Well, if you haven't talked in years, that is probably not a good thing. Are you sure you should be handing out advice on brotherly relationships then?"
He smirked slightly. He knew he was a brat and like the rest of his large family, he used it to his advantage. Not even Zoh had missed out maybe just maybe his sister Rhy might be chill. But the books were not in that yet. No.
"Though the advice you gave is solid. You should make up with your brother. He probably misses you too." He missed his family when he was away from home from them for too long. But most especially he missed his mother. She was the driving force along with dad who could hold his own with their brood.''
Go figure he ask for advice and end up giving it mostly. Though he thought Reillan did have a point so he nodded and thanked him. He would try to put his advice into action. Hopefully it would work.

He gave the boy a very flat look, "I would but I have to admit I don't actually know where he is. We didn't have a fight. We just eventually went off on our own adventures. He has yet to return from one of his." There was perhaps a chance that something horrible had happened on the road but Reillan rather thought that his brother had found a place to settle down because he liked it so much or had perhaps found a mate and she couldn't leave for whatever reason. He didn't want to leave. It could happen, though one would think that letters would probably still get through, maybe. He shook his head, trying very hard to clear it. Thoughts of his brother always brought about tough emotions.
The alternative was most unthinkable. He was sure that someone would have sent word if anything had happened to his younger brother. The years in between did make him nervous though. Anything could happen in that sort of time span. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes like Gajeel did at the young males goadings. Little brat. Oh well, he was so very young still, they were all a bit like that usually when that young.

It seems so weird to him that brothers could grow apart like that. He patted the other man's back. He wasn't that great at "comforting" but he was getting better the more often he had to do it. So far thankfully it had not been all that often. A few times for his sisters mostly.
"I'm sure he will come back when he was ready. Thanks for the advice pops."
Now that was done fraternizing with the old folk. He had to admit he was rather quite antsy. This was a very common occurrence in their family. They had all been born with a little more energy perhaps from both parental lines. Though his dad was better at hiding it from them all except for mum. He didn't bother hiding it from her which was a smart because Mum just knew everything anyway. A mother's intuition or certain family members who couldn't hold all that serious of face in her presence. Theanduri was an amazing woman and an even better Mother and he was proud to be of the family he was.

Reillan 6 He got the sense now that he was dealing with a rascal, he did sincerely hope that the lad never met Vallen, now that would really be a disaster. Vallan was king of this game. He was sure that directory the younger would only be all too attentive, real smart. Like when a bigger predator steps out and all the smaller ones take heed and become more quiet and respectful. Come to think of it. He had commanded similar respect to the army when he was there. What brought him here with family in the army, there was minimal work life balance. He was in the process of making up for many hours of lost time. Pops. He had never been called that before. He was mildly bemused.
"Thank you for that sage advice son." He nearly hit a trap, but the boy saved him just in time with a quick yoink.
"And thank you for that too, while we are at it."
He was bigger than the sparrings of the young, he had trained them into men in the long term, eventually he would come of age and understand.

Casually Rathian reached over and hugged the other male so his foot did not hit the trigger that would have again flipped him upside down. He would have been hanging from the tree again/ Rathian chuckled.
"Best not to step on perfect coiffed leaves, they are perfect for a reason."
Meaning he had placed a trap under there. He was surprised the man was so clueless. Perhaps the trap hiding was flawless. Yes, flawless. That must be it. He nodded to himself. "There are no more traps now. You're welcome." He turned to go he had leaves to coiff just right.
He liked his job nontheless. He was still somewhat unsure of what he wanted to do for a living perhaps he may think on that today.

Reillan 7 Exactly how he was supposed to tell which leaves were perfectly coiffed, remained to be seen. He thanked the boy for his help and was pretty much dismissed. Odd kid.
"Good luck with your brother. He will likely let you help soon enough time is the only constant even though when you are young times tend to be slow.: He told the boy before he left.
Everything seems to speed up for an adult Lord knew sure seemed to go fast. His babies were having babies now. Wasn't that a scary thought? Variel had ...children. He was a grandfather. An old man an original generation. He and Var were the Patiriarch and Matriarch of the small dynasty he had created. He loved her so much, she was his everything and they had made a strong beautiful family and out of all the years he had been in the army he was more proud of what he had built with the love of his life over what he had accomplished at work.

Rathian 7
He paused and looked back.
"I hope your brother comes back. There's probably a very good reason you have not heard from him."
Despite his penchant for sarcasm, he did have a heart, buried somewhere under all that roguish blackness. Tendaji was a wild place after all. Anything at all could have happened. The proof was in the pudding, as Reillian had been hanging upside down not all that long ago. Rathian smiled. Life was full of cool moments like that for now. The weather was fair all was well and he had critters to catch and a few more traps to set.
" Farewell Pops" he called before he hurried off down the leaf littered path. His job was to protect the people and catch food. It wouldn't be good to catch another someone. His mother would have found out his shoddy skills his dad would have laughed and said real should watch where he was going.
Nevertheless the family table needed to be filled and he would help do it to the best of his ability.

Reillen thanked him and waved moving off down the trail. He had places to be, otherwise he might have stayed for a longer chat but it looked like the boy needed to go about his own business so at least no hurt feelings there. He could appreciate that. There had been many days when he had been too busy to enjoy himself. At least he could afford quick chats now. It was nice to see another one of Thea and Rydan's kids. It was quite the community down here, very close knit, which honestly was rather nice compared to angry Oban nobles. He did not miss the endless sea of politics that festers like living sores. Sad it was but inevitably there would be weak members that shamed them all with their actions. Such a shame. He was glad that his family had integrity in the light of this fetid shadow. Swollen with the hubris that drove all the wrong ideas in his group of Oban peers. Not all were coruupt, there was corruption in almost every system to an extent.
