Kai hadn't said how he'd gotten tickets to the local carnival which had set up the day before, and Kioshi wasn't asking, but his fellow tattoo artist had asked if he'd wanted to join him. It was going to be loud, he knew that, but maybe he could put things to the test a bit and see how he held up? He'd had less migraines since his visit to Tom but he hadn't subjected himself to this amount of noise since then either. So this might be a bit of a test, since stress still triggered them just less frequently. Noise was the other trigger, and he knew it, so this might be worth it.
That in mind, and hoping he didn't wind up laying down tonight with an ice pack to his head, he had agreed and now stood waiting by the entrence for the other. Seeing as it was packed full of people, and warm, he'd' opted for a thin black shirt with long sleeves that he'd pushed up to just below his elbows. His hair was tied back neatly, save for a few strands that fell about his face, and he looked casual as ever if not for the glare he was giving to people who took the time to stare at him. He was not some zoo animal - thank you very much.

Kai usually didn't win anything. On rare occasions he might get a free soda under the cap during some event, but otherwise he was down on his luck most of the time. It was only by rare chance that he won tickets to the local carnival from a sub shop he would frequent as a easy and cheap meal on his way after work. Not much of a chef himself, a sandwich was a easy way to get off work, grab something to eat, and get home. Diesel loved the place and since he was still on the man's couch, he would pay for part of his meal if he also picked up his order. Win Win in his book. It only so happened that the shop supported local events and had a little sticker stuck on certain wrappers to give out tickets.
With two in hand, his coworkers were interested in who he'd bring, but he tried his best to dance around the subject despite their pressing insistence. He just left it that he'd probably bring a friend he knew in town and just pop in for a little while. The "Oh he's just another tattoo artist. No, no one you know." was not a thing his coworkers let go, pressing still until they got the hint they were loosing and making Kai uncomfortable.
It took some scheduling between the both of them, but they managed to get off on the second day of the carnival. Being a local event, it wasn't like a large amusement part but a popup of a few rides, tents for food and games, and some people selling crafts. Simple, spaced out in a park, but busy. Second day of anything meant the hype had not even began to die down.
Knowing that Kioshi didn't like noises or crowds, he was surprised the man even agreed. Not one to pass up on such a rare opportunity, he smiled and showed up after his morning shift.
He was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers as was his usual attire. His hair was tied up and back as usual in many braids.
"Hey!" He said, waving before he was fully over and then walked up to Kioshi. "Hope you didn't have to wait long. The bus was slow." He pointed behind him before looking back, offering Kioshi his ticket.
"I was just thinking we just kinda - see what's up. Anything interesting. No pressure or anything to like - stay long. Just haven't been to these things much....really."
Start off on a happier note. Quick.
"You been to a lot of carnivals?"

"Not too long, just long enough for some p eople to start staring." Which was nothing unusual for him, and something he shrugged off for now. It might, if given time, annoy him at some point in the day but he was rather used to it. The one good thing baout his job was most customers were modified, and part of the community, so it didn't get the looks so much. It was the clients which weren't part of the community which stared, and whispered to friends, and on one occasion tried to touch his ears. Taking the offered ticket he glanced the other over. Kioshi got looks, he knew he did, but he was certain the other did as well. That was part of their life though - being stared at. They were tattoo arists and thus inked and so even in this day and age they got stared at.
Blinking at the question he shook his head slowly, after a moment. "Not that I remember, and given what I've managed to puzzle out about my parents, I'd say I've likely never been to one." Not that it bothered him really, the loss of memorioes or never having been to one. It was hard to mourn the loss of something you couldn't remember having lost. He couldn't remember all the memories he'd lost so he didn't mourn their loss. He did however still hold anger for order, senshi and knights, for him having to loss his memories in the first place. They were two entierly different feelings and could easily coexsist at the same time within him - and they did. It was perhaps what made him so volitile in a fight against them; and he was ok with it.
Pulling himself away from his own thoughts Kioshi took a moment to recover from those thoughts, they had been getting a bit dark there. "We can stay for a while, I don't mind, I want to see how I hold up with the nosie anyway." And he had his wallet on him with two pills tucked into it. He had brought them just incase he started to get a headache, so he could catch it early, he'd do his best to last as long as he could. He wanted to see how well he did and try and do something with someone he thought of as a friend; because he had so few of them.
"Your shop didn't mind loosing you for a day?"

"Oh well, don't push yourself too hard. We can take a break anywhere." He said, looking ahead and being more and more aware of the noise. The cries of excited children, the ringing of bells and other music, and the general chorus of chatter of people talking over one another. There was wafting smells of friend and grilled foods, and the movement of small rides between the crossing of people that walked in the soft sun. A few benches and tables littered the place for people to sit and eat, gathering around baskets of fries and large cups of lemonade.
Kioshi was right that Kai got looked. A tall man who also worked out, he stood at both a impressive height and had width to him. Even the t-shirt he wore was form fitting to his chest. The beard made him look a little older, but the incredible long hair on a man spoke to others of a 'alternative' lifestyle. Most would expect a man like that to have ferocious tattoos, or something hinting to a rough life, which made the arm of different flowers confusing. Was he a freak who wanted to give peace signs or someone who'd punch you if you looked at them wrong - it was hard for those trying to assess at a glance who and what he was.
Kai took a breath, used to it on his own, but far more aware of it in present company. He didn't want to make being around him awkward for Kioshi, but he hoped the carnival had enough distractions to keep the attention off of him.
"Well, I guess it's a first for both of us then." Leading the way, he went in line and as they approached, handed off their tickets to the volunteer who sat with three others under a tent, smiling at them all and pointing out the first aid station to everyone should they need it.
"Diesel had a doctor's appointment today so Trish is in charge. When she knows she is on the schedule leading the shop, she tries to get us all to schedule clients early in the morning so we can get off as soon as we can. She didn't have a issue letting me go. She'd just waiting on Brit's last client to come in before she can close the shop as soon as she can." He said with a smile. "She can get away with it cause Diesel knows she doesn't abuse that power so much. He knows she's going to do it, but still likes the game of making a huge fuss about it when he gets back in. That way he can get Trish to buy him a 6pack later."
We shouldn't talk about work. Remember the plan.
"Do you like going fast? Or being up high? Cause they got rides like that." If Kioshi couldn't remember, he'd want to figure out what the other was comfortable to try out. "Anything I should know that might freak ya out?

Chuckling Kioshi couldn't help but comment on the others talk of work. "It sounds like your boss is pulling her pigtails." At least that was how it seemed to him, and he did spend enough time people watching, just because he didn't date didn't mean he hadn't seen how dating went. He'd seen enough people flirt, make passes, and date others he understood things enough to figure most of it out. He knew it was different for everyone, and with every couple, but it did sound like Diesel had a thing for Trish and perhaps she did things on purpose so she could get him something as a gift.
"I really can't say that I know for certain. I do know heights don't bother me, I've already jumped off a roof once, so that's something to go with." Shrugging as he spoke so easily about jumping off a roof top, like it was nothing. But really it had happened and it did, to a point ,answer the others question. "I don't know about fast though; or rather how fast." Since he didn't mind speeding when he drove, having a bit of a led foot, but how fast he could handle he didn't know. At least he had some answers for the other and he wasn't entierly clueless about himself, it really did feel strange to not know certain basic things about himself, he still found himself discovering things he liked or didn't like. It was still new to himself at times and it was always odd and just like a reminder of how much he'd lost of himself; of Hisoka. He was no longer that person and never could be again. He was ok with being Kioshi now and building things again, he'd been doing it for a while now, he was just glad he'd never have to do it again and become someone else once again. He was where he belonged and was pleased with it.
"What about you? Any fear or heights? What about motion sickness? Not that you'll be reading while on a ride but I'm curious. I don't do so well in a back seat in a car and I can't read in a moving vehicle at all."

"I'm not really great with some heights. I'm still learning to get over it." He had to get over it for the Night job, but the really tall buildings did him over. He felt like he might die at any moment if he got too close, and sometimes the wind just felt too strong for his liking. "Night job helped me go up to three stories but anything other than that and I'm feeling a little sick. I think I'd be better knowing I'm secured to something, so I think rides are okay with me." He said, looking up at rides to see which one was even the tallest. Most were relatively low to the ground. "I used to sleep in cars all the time. I don't have issues with that kind of motion." He actually found cars pretty soothing when he slept. "I've fallen asleep on the subway a few times." "Should we try out a ride then? They have the little cars that just go in a circle real fast." It went up at one end and down at the other and just went in a circle with some spinning of the carts.

"I don't see any rides to worry about here." Glancing about at the rides as the other spoke, looking for any which would be off limits. "I'd say unless you were to go to a theme park you'd be fine. I don't think they can transport such large rides." Since these things had to all get packed up and transported somehow. A big, tall, ride would be impossible to transport really. Maybe one day he'd try a big ride at some theme park, or something, and see what thsoe were like. But for that he'd need to hustle more and earn more.
"I can fall asleep in them, if I'm tired, but I can't read anything even a text message." He'd wind up sick feeling and god forbid he had anything actually in his stomach as he'd wind up letting it up, rather violently.
"We can do that, see how it goes." Nodding his head as he spoke he started making his way towards the ride, one hand finding it's way into a pocket on his pants.

Turning to the direction of the ride, he followed Kioshi through the walkways of the carnival. Seeing as it was the second day, the place was packed. While most that were coming their way made way for them to move, most others were standing still in other lines, looking at phones, talking to one another, and generally just not paying attention. This made following difficult for someone like Kai who was much larger than his counterpart.
Worried he'd loose him, Kai reached out to gently set a hand at his shoulder. Lightly setting it there, he was able to use his arm like a sort of rope that told everyone he was following and behind the other.
Once he got out of the pocket of people and closer to the ride, he dropped his hand as they made their way to the end of the line. "Sorry. Was about to loose you with all the people."
His shoulder isn't that board. He thought.

For Kioshi it was easy to get through crowds, weaving and moving around people, he twisted and turned as to avoid walking into people. When he felt a hand on his shoulder he turned, half expecting some stranger to be grabbing him, but seeing it was Kai he stopped short of saying anything. Turning back to the oncoming crowd he headed them towards the first ride.
As he stopped at the end of the line he turned his dark eyes onto the other. "It's fine, you could have just grabbed my arm or my hand if you needed to." The others hand had been large and heavy on his shoulder, more than he'd expected, but the other was such a large person. He didn't seem it though. He might physically take up space but Kai didn't seem to take up that much space or cast a large presence like some did.
"Ready for this?" Moving to stand at the others side, so they could speak easier.

Right. Holding hands. They could do that. He looked at Kioshi's hand and then tried not to think of it too hard. Tried not to make it noticeable when he wiped his palm against his shorts as he moved beside the other in the line.
"I think so. Looks fun." He said as he heard the delighted screamed from those in the moving carts. Music pumped from speakers as people spun about, a few spinning faster than others as they worked to turn a center wheel to spin more.
"Probably good we didn't eat first." He mentioned with a smile.
The line wasn't that long, used to taking a large group of people every ride. Considering each booth could fit 2-3 people, the line moved and Kai and Kioshi made the cut off for the next ride.
Moving into a booth, he let Kioshi sit before going in. Luckily his worried that he might squish the other were alleviated, but it was still side by side enough to touch sides.
A worker went around to lower the bars for them to be in place and then walked to check everyone else.
His eyes went again to his hand on the bar and then to Kioshi.
"Do you - want to hold hands?" He asked, but the music was rather loud now that they were in the ride.

"If we ate before this I'm certain I wouldn't be able to hold it down for long." And so he was glad they hadn't gone for food before this, that he'd decided to wait on eating till after this. Watching as people moved up to the ride, to get on, as other people were getting off. It seemed like alot of people could go on at a time, as he took note of just how many people were getting off, he climbed on and headed for one of the cars to get in, nodding his thanks to Kai as he climbed in.
"Thanks." The word was softly spoken as he nodded his head in thanks to the other. Watching as Kai got in, not surprised that they were pressed together, he let his arms fall over the bar that had been brought down to keep them locked in place.
Watching his own booted feet he turned his eyes onto the other when he heard Kai. "I don't mind, I'm not opposed to it." And rather than wait he did grasp one of Kai's hands with one of his own. He was new to the dating thing, very new to it, so he wasn't opposed to much but he also wasn't as gung ho as some might be either. He wasn't going to turn things down but he would approach at a normal, perhaps even a bit sedate, pace and with a casualness that wasn't unusual for him. He wasn't the sort to get worked up over things to make a fuss about things. At least not yet, he didn't see things changing either.

Kai held the hand in his, staring down at the one intertwined with his before his heart lurched first and then the ride lurched second. As the ride spun around, he held onto that hand, taking note of the slender fingers. The world blurred around them as they spun around.
This was nice. This was really nice.
A little cooler than mine. Maybe I'm just sweating too much. He ran a thumb over the other. Short nails. Trimmed. He keeps himself pretty clean and neat.
Kai's own hands were on the warmer side, rough on the palms from random jobs like dishwasher and random labor jobs. His nails were clean but slightly chewed on.
The momentum of the ride had Kioshi sliding against him, and he was glad he was not the other way around or else he'd crush him a bit.l
The ride was all too short and soon it slowed down before someone came around to life up the lap bars from everyone to let them step out.

Trying to keep his eyes locked on a singular point, something he'd heard dancers did so they didn't get dizzy, he found that near impossible to do. How on earth dancers did it he didn't know, spotting it was called he thinks. It was simply not possible but at least he didn't wind up too dizzy, even as he slid right into Kai's side. Bumping into the other he stared up at him for a moment.
He really couldn't help when he'd gone sliding the short distance between them, he was rather easy to move. It really wasn't a shock the smaller Wolframiite could even pick him up and carry him, he wasn't all that heavy, he was just tall. Tall, something he'd always considered himself but next to Kai he wasn't as tall and seemed more average in height. It was a strange feeling but most people around him were about his height or shorter. To have someone taller than him around was a bit new for him, even his coworkers were all around his height or smaller. Some were built more than he was, not that hard to acomplish since he didn't go to a gym to bulk up or anything, but in terms of height he never really felt small. But he did with Kai and he felt it more as he was pressed to the others side.
When the ride did come to an end he was climbing out slowly, trying to balance himself as he held out a hand for the other. "Any idea on which ride you'd like to try next?" It had been a short ride but some seemed longer, at least from what he'd seen during this ride.

A little uneven, Kai stood up, grabbed Kioshi and the cart as he stepped out and headed the way off the platform down the couple of metal steps back out the surrounding fence and out to the carnival.
"Uh...." He said, looking around. He looked past to a few kid rides before pointing to a ride that was one circle like a flat disc with walls all around it. It seemed to spin real fast and people would just line up and were pressed up against the wall where they stood and it would go so fast as to be able to spin on it's side but keep everyone where they were at.
"How about that thing?" He pointed, and walked carefully past a few excited kids. This time, he did reach out to grab Kioshi's hand to not loose him.
"So, you sort of just figure out things as you're going and everything. Is there anything you want to try and do since you kinda have a blank slate?"

Looking over the ride which Kai pointed out, watching as it spun about, he nodded slowly. It seemed like a good idea, even if it might leave them both dizzy, it didn't seem like some children ride and he did still have an empty stomach so there was no worry of losing it's contents.
"That looks good, looks fast but I'm good with that." Nodding as he spoke, it did seem like a good idea to him. He had no issue with fast rides, or heights, so it didn't bother him at all really. If anything the idea of a fast ride was a bit thrilling for him, he rather liked the idea of something which moved fast.
Following Kai, his fingers lacing with the others, as he walked at his side, moving around children to avoid running into them.
"I have to. I never gave dating a thought till now. If anything I had considered maybe certain relations with strangers - so I didn't worry about anything else. I wouldn't wind up caring about them because it wouldn't be anything beyond a simple one night transaction." And he hadn't even partaken in that idea, even if he spoke about it right now, and it was obvious if his words were taken into account. He worded himself well, made sure the point was as clear as he figured it needed to be. "That's obviously changed so I'm playing this as it goes. I can't say that I know anything really." A shrug followed his words, as easily said as could be, he tried to brush them off even as he felt a knot of nerves starting up in his stomach. This could go badly, he knew it, but he didn't think Kai the sort to mock him or look at him in a poor light for what he had just said. But he knew how people could be and he knew what his words could cause people to say, to think, the jokes and laughter and disbeliefe.
"I can't really answer anything I want to try..." Dark eyes shifted about as he thought over things. "I think there are some things I'd have no intrest in but most things would be on the table for a once over."
