Silistra looked down at the ring on her hand the symbol of Saturn the order of knights she served under. She was a squire of Saturn but she was a healer so she didn't go looking for battles, but battles sometimes found her, or strange creatures that Destiny City liked to throw at her for no apparent reason other than this city was bizarre. It was late in the evening and she was making her way through a wooded area checking to see if any civilians had been left after being drained. Since she had her powers now she often sought out people she could help. The woods were dark but with the light from her lantern, she had enough light to see by. She had never minded the dark anyway it was comfortable and going solo was how she normally did things. She had found a number of young pages asking her to team up and she had been thrown off every time. She didn't think of herself as someone special so she had brushed off every request. It made her uncomfortable thinking of being in social situations even if it was for the sake of battle. She sighed softly to herself as she watched a cloud drift across the moon.

Summer was slowly on its way out, and with that went some of the heat, which meant Róka had felt less under the weather as of late than they had for months. They had still gotten their arm slashed open in early August, yes, but that was the way of things, and really it'd healed quite well overall -- benefits of having limited access to a limited healer, and a continued reminder to why they didn't damage their relationship with Encke, such as it was.
It didn't mean they weren't hungry. The later the year crept, the more pointed that pit in their stomach was; the more the rest of them ached. They didn't have any interest in knocking their own teeth out and hoping-waiting for them to regrow, so like so many other things, it would need to wait.
But there was something to be said for being able to sit in their own, real senshi-skin in the woods, perched in the crux of one tree or another, and listen, and breathe. It was not without interruption, loathe as
Was that someone below, blundering through the woods? The aura on their senses -- some Knight. Stronger than they were, at least in theory, but it wasn't as if that counted for much outside of officers...
Maybe they could make her bleed a little. They could claim accident, claim incident, claim they'd misjudged the distance... Róka hefted a pinecone in one hand, looked down, and tossed the pinecone at the Squire's head.

Silistra was shocked when she was cold-cocked in the side of the head she had no idea what hit her, she frowned and looked down and stopped the pinecone and she frowned once again.. what on earth.. was she being attacked by a raccoon? She looked up into the trees to attempt to figure out where the attack had come from so she could defend herself if she was attacked again. She rubbed the side of her head but she didn't say anything. After all, she would feel pretty foolish if she started to accuse a raccoon of attacking her in its home. She looked around her lamp in hand its flame burning. She was however tempted to question the woods even if it was stupid and the look of confusion and contemplating was clear on her face.

There was no objective reason to hurt her. She was only human, and humans could be such stupid, piteous things. (Róka was also these things, incidentally, but they tried not to look too directly at those thoughts. It was endemic to most sentients.)
But they'd never much needed reason to hurt someone besides I can.
Róka threw another pinecone.

Silistra still hadn't sensed the senshi in the trees and still thought they were a raccoon and with their behavior, they might as well have been a wild animal. She had been watching the trees this time so she dodged the pinecone this time. She frowned and called out still feeling a bit foolish. "Umm is someone up there?" She didn't really expect an answer since she thought it was an animal and not a person but she figured she would ask anyway and if they did turn out to be a person maybe they would stop throwing the pinecones at her. Then again they might want to throw more at her just because they didn't like her.

Oh, bless her heart. Was that how the saying went? She didn't know how close they could be to wringing her neck right now. None of these fools were a bit versed in trickery! They were so honest! If that'd been them at that age -- they would've thrown any of these pinecones right back.
Not that they had ever been a chibi senshi, as it was. Their magic would've been even weaker and more unreliable than it was now. But they'd been just far enough into adolescence to earn a proper senshi's mantle when that mauvian had sensed their power. Still, at her age --
So many of these children were so soft. It almost made Róka want to sprain her wrist just to teach her the slightest bit about pain. The younger she learned, the better she'd understand that it was the only thing that mattered, the only thing that
the only thing that
Nnno. No. Who knew who she knew? They were recognizable, in either their real face or Harper's face. Hurting her would be ill-advised. With their luck she would know Encke, or glitter-bright Nectaris, and people always got so very particularly moralistic when it came to harming children.
(Where had they been? Where had they been when
it was an old worry. It meant nothing and was nothing.)
"Thought you were something else," they called down, with the tone of someone who knew this sounded unbelievable and also did not care what it revealed about them in the slightest. "Apologies."

She frowned looking up trying to spot whoever was in the tree she wasn't sure what she was sensing.. it felt odd to her which might have been why she had missed it in the first place. "You thought I was something that should be thrown at.." She said softly . She sighed she hadn't missed the tone that the voice really didn't care that they had hurt her.. It was pretty clear that they were not going to be friends. "Umm well then I suppose I will leave you to your tree then." She said planning her retreated.

"I suppose," they said, so transparently unbothered it was almost exaggeratedly fake, "it's the least you could do, yes."
Better she get out of places she didn't know. Anything could happen in the woods.

Silistra made her exit, she saw no reason to keep arguing with the being in the tree whatever or whoever they were, she had other things she could be doing rather than being pelted by pinecones. (Fin)
