Hobbies:
pour paintings: It's some money on the side, anyways. Avalon isn't generally interested in painting traditionally (although it can, it just doesn't), but there's a surprisingly large market for abstract pieces made this way; otherwise it's just like any other artistic pursuit. They tend towards darker pieces with angry splashes of bright or metallic color, and he's actually set up a garage space to do work on his own time.
graffiti: Spray paint, a big workspace, and time are one of Avalon's favorite equations. He likes working best at night -- says there's something about the artificial light of a flashlight that makes colors look better -- but it's a medium that makes sense to them, in a way pens and brushes don't. It's fond of distorted floral and insectoid motifs, when it works, and motion-blur smears of color, but it almost never tags its work in any identifying way.
ballet: Avalon used to be a ballet dancer. He thought it was going to be his career, at least for his twenties; dancers burn bright and burn out young when their bodies give out, that's how it usually works. But their body gave out on them a lot sooner than it was supposed to: overwork and stress caused knee and ankle injuries that cut off the chance for their career to ever really begin. Nowadays it dances to keep in shape and because it still loves to, after everything, but it has to make allowances for what its body won't do - or can't do - right, anymore.
Virtues:
resilient: Some people just keep bouncing back, somehow, and Avalon is one of them; certainly who it is now might be unrecognizable as who it once was, but it's survived, and that's nothing to sneeze at. He incorporates every experience and builds defenses for it next time. Stress doesn't debilitate it -- that's just fuel, eventually. There's a way to bounce back from anything, if it digs deep enough.
always 100%: Avalon does not, per se, 'underachieve'. If they're doing something, they've committed the full force of their effort to it; they always, always try, genuinely so, and often even if they know it'll be to little use. He doesn't like giving up -- but even worse than that to him is not trying in the first place. Better to fail than never have anything to fail from.
perceptive: Avalon is likely to notice things - and especially details - when others might not. It's especially good at understanding body language, especially unintentional body language, and tends not to speak without at least some kind of intent for the intended result. (Is his intent good? It could be.) Reading people and noticing things just comes easy to them, and they're quite aware of changes in their environment.
crafty: He's... kind of a schemer, is the less-nice way to put it. Avalon prefers to work under people's noses instead of right in their line of sight; it goes into things often with the expectation that the first way won't work, and that it should go around, rather than through, any obstacles. Life is hard enough: it's better to pick some of those battles very, very specifically, and they'll think their way out of ever facing the rest.
Flaws:
crabs in a barrel: Why try to leave? It's not better out there. There's no point in even trying to leave if you'll just get dragged back, anyway. Avalon doesn't think things can be better (just in general), will get mad if you try to tell it things should be better, and will get especially violent if you imply things can be better for it; it's convinced its own personal state of inflicted misery could never be personally escaped, so why try in the first place?
just want to be appreciated: As much as Avalon might hate people who have been cruel to him and who have hurt him, he still desperately wants their validation, their appreciation, and he leans towards it like a plant towards sunlight. For all the crap they talk, they desperately, desperately want to be praised for how hard they're trying, and giving them that affection will chain them to you for a very long time.
one long thirty-thousand second scream: Avalon is angry. It's just sort of a perpetual state of being, at this point; sometimes there's other things mixed in, but it's just -- he's always angry. He doesn't really know how to stop. Not anymore. You'd think they'd burn themself out at some point, and they'd think that too! But apparently not! So Avalon's fine to just keep going like this, forever, until its heart gives out or something, and that's just fine.
in your face: Avalon knows what personal space is. Avalon knows it should not get up in people's faces, because it makes them uncomfortable. Avalon does not care about the fact this makes people uncomfortable, and, in fact, is likely to do it on purpose. Don't get in his personal space -- but he's more than happy to get far too close to you, especially if you let on it makes you uncomfortable or you don't like it.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Vibrant indigo-purple (#9100ff), usually wide-eyed. Messy eyeliner, messier mascara.
Hair: Cold black, choppy bangs. Hime cut with longer side hair than traditional. Usually kept up in a messy bun; sometimes Avalon throws flowers in there or puts it up in two buns.
Face: Messy spray of freckles across the nose, mirrored on the hands. Snub, small nose. Sort of an 'aristocratic' cast to the cheekbones and jaw. Wears black or bright indigo lipstick a lot.
Skin Tone: Ambiguously tan, in the realm of 'probably Mediterranean'.
Body Type: 5'6"ish, built almost like a ballet dancer: barely in the range of slim, medium-length torso, long arms, medium-length legs, long neck. Not small-chested, but not particularly busty, either; fairly average, as things go.
Clothes: Black, dark greys, purples/blues; generally has a 'punk' cast to a lot of its wardrobe, or at least some variety of alt. Stompin' boots, seifuku, buttonup shirts, pleated skirts and long, draping pants, beanies and baseball caps. Likes to dress in ways that will piss people off. Lieutenant Weapon: A purple frisbee with a broken Lysithea symbol.
Captain Weapon: A pair of twin ringblades / chakrams with butterfly-wing aesthetics, intended to be used as melee weapons.
Similar in shape / size to these; alternatively, drawing from wind-and-fire wheels.
General Weapon: Twin ringblades, razor-edged and designed with a butterfly-wing aesthetic. These are tipped with a hallucinogen: breaking skin may cause the target to begin seeing, hearing, or sensing things that are not necessarily there, lasting for 15 seconds; at player fiat, things like previous mental instability or sleep deprivation may cause more intense hallucinations. The blades need time to regenerate this property, and can use it once every 60 seconds.
