Ever since his meeting with Faust, and finding some of his lost power, Daedalus felt...well. There had never been a question before that this venture to Earth was worth it, given the other choice, but...he was even more certain now. A Super Senshi again, and eager to learn more and rediscover old allies and new, and perhaps find a solution to the problems that had plagued his world.

It was a clear, warm night, and he'd been out for an hour or so already, when he spotted a familiar horned tiara, and broke into a broad grin.

"Surtur?" He called, and jogged forward. "Surtur, is that you? It's been so long!" Longer for Surtur, perhaps--if it was even the same one. The thought dimmed Daedalus's smile, for a moment, but, well--if it was someone different, things had gone well enough with Farbauti, so!

The weather might have been too warm for Ymir, but Surtur enjoyed a night out to enjoy the air and experience the sounds and smells and life all around him.

Even if he managed to get some of his power back, he knew he had a long way to go before he was able to clear his world of Chaos, like they had helped Alastor clear his World.

But the most important thing was that it could be done. Miracles happened.

And another miracle was right in front of him.

Surtur had felt the other Senshi’s aura, but hadn’t turned until he heard an oddly familiar voice. Not that he hadn’t heard a hundred thousand voices in the course of his life, but there weren’t too many Senshi in those thousands.

“Daedalus?” he asked in disbelief. The horns were there, and he certainly looked like Daedalus.

“Fate has been cruel, but you being here has brightened my surroundings. It is good to see you!” he greeted warmly, holding out both hands in greeting, whether to shake or embrace it didn’t matter to Surtur.

Surtur recognized him. And it was, indeed, the same Surtur that Daedalus had known, all that time ago. Another survivor, from a time long gone, and one who was glad to see him.

"It is so good to see you again," Daedalus said, genuinely, and he stepepd forward for the offered embrace. Surtur was someone he had always regarded fondly; exactly the sort of champion of the oppressed that Daedalus had tried so hard to be. "I didn't realize how long it had been, when I first woke up--but everyone else I've recognized..." A shadow crossed his expression, briefly. "They've all been reincarnated. So it's...good to see a familiar face that's the same face."

There was a moment of understanding that crossed over Surtur’s expression, but he was quick to properly arrange his features in a way to not cause Daedalus any concern. There was nothing to be concerned about, but it was a bittersweet relief to know that Daedalus hadn’t experienced his world falling to ruin if he’d been asleep.

It seemed as though there were three ways to have passed through those thousand years. Either experiencing every moment of Chaos destroying their world and everyone they knew and loved. Being made, in various levels of duress and willfulness, to sleep. Or passing through the Cauldron with rebirth.

Ymir had found his sister that way. Not the same one he knew so many years ago, but a new one who shared the same name.

And if Surtur was being honest, he actually felt worse for those who slept through everything. At least he knew what happened to everyone. Others…? It was all a horrible surprise.

“I assure you, it is all the same me,” he said as he gave Daedalus a warm squeeze before pulling back. “You look like you have found a means of being fed. Have you taken refuge with Senshi or perhaps Knights who sympathize with your plight?”

Daedalus nodded, as he came out of Surtur's embrace. It felt good, to have such warm physical contact, when even after getitng to Earth, he had found so little of it.

"A Knight, yes," he said, and his smile dipped for a brief moment. Bellatrix was...not well, and he knew that, and he wondered sometimes if he was adding to her burdens with his presence. But he didn't need to tell Surtur that; it was...not his secret to reveal, he supposed. People didn't generally like it when their drinking was public knowledge. "I'm hoping to manage my own accommodations, though." He wrinkled his nose. "The way things work on this world...it's familiar. Not in a pleasant way."

He had seen enough of Earth to know that it repeated many of the follies of his homeworld. Clearly not to the same extent, since the air here was still breathable, and the people were not entirely crushed--but it was still....all too like the world he had worked so hard to fix.

(The world he had failed to save.)

"But I don't want to impose on someone else's hospitality for too long, and I have managed to find somewhere to work. It seems my skill with machines is still a pliable trade, even here."

Surtur nodded in understanding. He knew very well what it was like to compare Earth to what he knew.

“I am working on making my skills marketable, but it has been so long since I’ve had to worry about currency. Or benefactors. The ones I have are kind enough to let me figure things out at my own pace, at least. I do not feel as though I am imposing on them, but I do believe they would tell me if I was.”

He and Ymir were lucky to have run into someone who knew them. Sort of. At least memories. Well, maybe not so much of Surtur, but Ymir, who was kind enough to vouch for him.

“I do not plan on getting too comfortable here. I have a lot of work I plan on doing once Surtur has been freed of the Chaotic mist that plagues it. I hope to regain my strength and assist in removing the Chaos from this world as well. With our combined strength, I dare something to try and stop us!”

It really was heartening, just to hear Surtur talking so confidently. If he was honest with himself, Daedalus had not put much thought into the possibility of fixing his world; the very thought of it seemed so overwhelming, and while Daedalus was willing to shoulder many things on his own, this in particular was beyond him. And the crushing weight of the death of his world had felt too much to bear, in the end.

But he was not alone, was he?

"This world is well enough, yes, but if I can peel the Chaos poison from Daedalus...it would be good to be able to go home." Even if home was empty, it would not stay empty. Not if he worked to save it. His people might be lost--or, at least, it seemed they were--but that didn't mean that his world couldn't begin to live again.

"Please, let me know if there's any way I can help you or your planet. It's true--there is little that can stand against us, working together."

“I will do that, friend. Working together? We can accomplish anything, I am certain of it. Just one step at a time,” he nodded in agreement and offered Daedalus a winsome smile as proof of his confidence that they would triumph over whatever Chaos plagued their worlds.

It might take some time. And they might need to adjust their plans and figure things out along the way. But Surtur was confident that they would achieve anything they set their minds to.

There were so many Senshi and Knights on Earth willing to work together that it outweighed the poor organization among them. They might not be on the same page with a lot of things, but in the end, he was sure they would help each other out.
