Being a healer, Eziya knew the signs. She'd seen it when she was traveling with her band of healers years ago, and she'd helped to deal with it when Xariy had faced a similar situation. While she hadn't expected family planning to be quite so fast, Eziya without a doubt knew she was pregnant. It was an odd feeling to experience something she had helped with others, but not unwelcome. She and Serr had discussed it after all. She was excited, thrilled even, but now they had to prepare! She'd held off a few days in an attempt to figure out how to approach the news with Serr, but ultimately decided to just spill it out to him. "I've got something to tell you once I finish closing up here," she called, knowing he was settled in one of the back rooms.

He really had been willing to help out at the clinic, but Eziya had been right to gently dissuade him, even if she hadn't meant to. Serr was 'helping' sort supplies today, but what was taking up the majority of his focus was one very important thought. If they got married in every settlement across Tendaji, could he eventually wear thirteen rings?He sat up straight at the sound of Eziya's voice, as if he had been caught staring off into the future. "Mmhm. I'll be right here."

Eziya had just finished placing some tinctures on a shelf when she heard his reply, chuckling as she wandered over to find him. Sometimes she wondered if she left him alone how long he would get wound up in his own thoughts. Not that she minded really, she was equally as caught up in her grand ideals as he was most days. As she watched him from the door she was curious to know just what he was thinking. "What're you thinking about this time? Something exciting?" she questioned, wandering over and bumping against his arm.

Serr turned, looking up at Eziya with a grin. "Getting married. At least once in every nation. The money would be an issue, but if we took our time, I'm sure we could do it." He squared a small pile of bandages on the table, tapping them against it until they were even. "How are you?" He was curious about what she wanted to tell him, but he wasn't going to push her. "You look beautiful today."

Eziya nodded and and wandered closer, wrapping her arm around his side as she tugged him closer. "I would love to do that. It would be a wonderful time, though it may need to wait a few years. Maybe quite a few. We will be a bit....stationary for a while." Eziya admitted, looking up at him. She was worried that the vagueness of her statement would go over his head, but felt shy about telling him just what she meant. "I'm good though. Happy to be here with you."

Abandoning his sporadic work for now, Serr stood to give her a proper hug. He didn't feel threatened by anything Eziya might tell him, but she seemed more hesitant than the situation called for. Not exceedingly so, but Serr noticed. Silence surrounded them for a short time as he pored over her words. They had spoken of staying still while they tried to start their family, so that wasn't a surprise, but she radiated a mild urgency that suggested they would need to do so right now. Which meant... "We will be. Stationary. Did it... um..."He wasn't exactly shy, but he didn't want to overassume.

"Our family plans have come a lot sooner than I was expecting. Not that I'm worried. I just hope you're ready," Eziya smiled, watching his face for any sign of hesitancy or anxiety. She was a bit anxious herself, but more worrying about if she would be good enough than anything involving the two of them. "Do you think Fiia would want to be a grandparent to them? Would she like it? I'd hope she would but I wouldn't want to force it either.Smerdle Sorry work replies are a bit whacky

Serr was quite nervous, more so about the pregnancy itself than the children that might result from it, but that didn't stop the burst of laughter that escaped him as he briefly lifted her into the air. He did look a little surprised as he put her down, gently patting her back once he had deemed she hadn't been injured due to his whims. "I'm ready. You're okay though? How do you feel?"It was only when Fiia's name was mentioned that he finally displayed a touch of worry, if only because he hadn't gotten around to discussing all of their plans. "I know she'll be very happy. I like to think she took me in because I was cute, so she won't be able to resist our children. I shouldn't have waited to tell her about all of this. She's never going to let me live it down."

Eziya was pleased with his excitement, surprised by the sudden airborne lift but overall thrilled. She felt okay all things considered. Despite the surprise she wasn't overly nauseous or dizzy. It was still fairly early on though. She'd heard of others getting very sick, and Xariy had an odd craving for certain foods when she had cared for her during her pregnancy. At least at the moment she could handle her food just fine. "She may be just a little bit upset, but I'm sure she'll get over it quickly. Hopefully. Should we have said something sooner?" she laughed, rubbing the back of her neck a bit sheepishly.

"Maybe. But she won't really mind." Serr shrugged. Fiia had never pressured him to settle down, understanding better than he did how his past had affected him, so he was sure she would be more pleasantly surprised than upset. "She'll just use it as a dig whenever she wants to guilt me into doing something." He tilted his head to the side, voice pitching up a little as he imitated his beloved guardian. "Remember when you didn't tell me I might be a grandma soon? Or that you were married? Well, you can make it up to me by picking up some eggs." He chuckled. "She's never learned that it doesn't make me sad if she's laughing while she says it." He shook his head, still smiling as the reality of the last few minutes washed over him. "This isn't what I expected from today. I feel... bouncy."

She enjoyed his rendition of Fiia, knowing for certain that would absolutely be something that went down with the woman. She was pretty sure Fiia had given Serr a hard time from the moment she had snatched him up and forced him to behave a bit, and really she appreciated the woman more than she could say. Eziya would happily have Fiia as the kids' grandma given her own parents as well as Serr's were worthless to them. "Bouncy is good. I think? Is it exciting? Are you excited? I think bouncy is a good feeling at least," she rambled, not quite sure how to explain her own feeling. She wouldn't say bouncy, but bubbly? But maybe that was the pregnancy. Really she was just very thrilled.

"Very excited. It's the only thing keeping away the nervousness." He gave Eziya another squeeze, one at her shoulders then around her waist. "You're really okay? Can I get you anything? Do you want to sit?" Serr shrugged that off quickly enough, figuring she was perfectly capable of sitting if she wanted to. His next question took a moment. They rarely spoke of her family, but that didn't mean he wanted to exclude them on her behalf. "Is there anyone you'd like to tell? Besides Xariy?"

Eziya was touched by his concern, but shook her head. If her parents had wanted to invest in her life they would have done so years ago. Instead she had heard nothing from her father, and one missive had been sent by her mother several years ago when she was still traveling with her group. While she supposed some blame could be put on her for not reaching out, her father had made it very clear that she was not welcome. "No. Other than Fiia, but that is a given and we already discussed that. No one else matters," she explained, shrugging slightly as she did take a seat.

"Okay." Serr sat as well, twining his fingers together and tapping his thumbs. "No one else. It'll be our secret. For a while, at least." There would come a time when everyone would know, but by then maybe he would be a little more put together. More capable, like he thought a parent should be. "I can't wait to teach them everything." Probably not how to steal, but everything else.

"Everything. Good and bad. I would like them to know what we do for work, even if it is not exactly the best!" Eziya replied, reaching over and squeezing Serr's hand. "Including the thieving."She thought it was a good skill set to have given the possibility for trouble, and she would have Serr teach the kids all he knew just in case they were to need the skills. She would always worry over them if they were in a situation which had needed it and didn't know how. "We'll just caution them against using it for bad things, yes?"
