The clinic was rather quiet this evening. It was a small practice, but very successful; an average looking building tucked in one corner of the city. Inside, it was a nice office space with good furniture and simple but good decorations. To help patients pass the time as they waited, the walls were lined with health statistics and images of earthling anatomy and lessons in self-care for everyone to see and learn from.
Willow thought it was a bit much. Her father, the head physician at the clinic, took his work quite seriously and enjoyed it greatly. He felt that his passion for the subject was the same as everyone else's! It was admirable... but not everyone wanted to know what their insides looked like! She, of course, knew practically every word on every poster by heart after years of being quizzed on the material. With her fluffy hair pulled back into a tight bun, Willow sat at one of the counters to sort out some of the paperwork that was left over from the day before. It was utterly dull business in her mind, but at least she was being paid for it.

Calliana had always been a driven young lady. Even in her youth when she saw something she wanted nothing could stop her from having it. Calli saw obstacles as challenges and where charisma failed a quick wit could get the job done quick. Now that she was settling into her teen years that sense of self-assured confidence marked her as the 'leader' to a little band of Geian's who got into all sorts of mischief. Nothing illegal, though; she wasn't interested in that kind of reputation. Accidents were bound to happen when a group of rambunctious teenagers got together and today was no exception. When Calliana opened the door to the clinic it was to let her friend, Meera, enter first. The shorter Geian held her swollen wrist close to her chest and even though she wasn't crying at the moment the state of her face made it obvious she had been. "Hello there," She tried her best to smile when approaching the counter, but Calliana was having a hard time of it. "Is there a healer that can see my friend? We think her wrist might be broken."

Willow straightened up when she heard the door open, instantly putting on a small, professional smile. Her gaze quickly looked over the pair before zeroing in on the injured girl. Ah, she had seen that posture so many times before. That one girl though... that was definitely a new sight. "Oh dear! You poor thing. Yes, I will let him know right away." She spun on her chair and vanished through a side door. When she came back, she was followed by an older man with just enough of a resemblance to make some sort of familial relationship likely. The healer nodded to the pair and pulled open another door. Visible inside was a small room with an exam table, a couple chairs, and a desk that held a few containers and tools. "I will look at your injury in here while you tell me about what happened." His eyes flicked between the pair, trying to decide if he had seen either of them before. New patients! "We normally request that only family accompany you into the room. Will you both be coming in?" The world was much bigger than it used to be. Perhaps those two were related somehow? It was better to ask than assume!

Meera lowered her arm, presumably to a more comfortable position, and a whine slipped out. Calliana reached out to put a hand on her friend's shoulder, doing her best to keep the girl's spirits up, before the healer came out. When he spoke about Meera going in alone, the Geian looked to Calli. "You don't have to stay if you don't want to. I'll be fine." "I'm not leaving," She smiled to the other girl and nudged her forward. To the healer she said, "We're not family; just close friends. If either of you need me I'll be right out here." At first it looked as if Meera was too nervous to move ahead on her own, but eventually the pain and discomfort won out. When the girl was out of sight Calliana relaxed a bit, turning her gaze to the Geian at the counter. "Is there anything I need to fill out or is it okay if I just find somewhere to sit?"

Willow had wandered back to the desk to grab some papers. Oh, she was going to have a little company then? She watched the pair go into the room before she nodded to the remaining woman. "If you would, please. Just some basic information for our records. The healer will fill in the rest with your friend after they're done. Getting it started now will just make it that much quicker after." She grabbed a board and a pencil and held it out over the counter. "You may sit wherever you like, of course." She looked at the side with the more visual anatomy drawings and smirked lightly. "Unless you don't mind them, I would suggest facing away from that section."

Oh wouldn't Baba just love giving her exploits a written record. Maybe she should use a fake name, then? Just in case? Calliana took the materials from the other girl, passed her a smile and took one of the closest seats.
Of course she hadn't noticed the visuals at first, but now that they were so graciously pointed out Calli couldn't help looking. She lifted her eyes to take it in, then let out a little laugh, "Why would I ever look away? I might be here for a while and they're entertaining." Then she dipped her head and started filling in information. "Besides, my oldest brother is a healer. I don't get to visit often, but I've seen enough." Not to mention the work her own papa did or the risks Cas took.
Patient name. Meera....what was her surname? Did she have one? Oh spirits...

Willow's brow rose with surprise. Entertaining? She chuckled and shrugged. "If you think so. A couple clients have complained about them, but the educational value is more important to Dr. Dyshar than a few squeamish bellies. He would appreciate you saying they're entertaining. I've been learning from them since I could read them." She wouldn't be surprised if her father had been showing them to he before she could even speak! Ah! Another healing family. "Well, that does explain it. Does he work in this city or-?" She paused and smiled apologetically. "Sorry. I'll let you finish that paperwork before I bombard you with too many questions."

"So you've known the Dr. a long time then?" Since she could read them? Either she's a slow learner or she's some kind of a relation. Calli suspected the later just because of the similarities, but then again she'd only just met them and...well, no one in herfamily looked alike so... When she asked about what area her brother practiced, Calliana instantly snorted and gave a laugh before casually waving her hand in the air. "No, no; be easier to visit if he did. My brother lives in Zena with his husband and daughters. He runs a clinic closer toward the border." Once she was sure all of the proper papers had been filled out - to the best of her abilities, anyway - Calliana primly shuffled, adjusted and clipped them before raising to walk them back toward the counter.

The question earned a little chuckle from Willow. "I've known him my whole life. He's my father, actually." She glanced over at the door that was now between them and the pair in the exam room. "Thankfully it's not like he raised me here. Our house is filled with his medical stuff. He's still hopin' I'll follow in the trade." She shrugged noncommittally and turned back to the hybrid. "Over in Zena? Wow! That's exciting!" She stood up and reached out to accept the papers, but her expression and focus remained on the other young lady. "You've been over there then? What's it like? They say Zena is covered in snow like the mountains here, but all over instead of just the high parts."

"That explains it then. You favor each other." Laying the paperwork down on the counter, Calliana took the opportunity to lean casually against it instead of going back to her seat. Her deep, indigo curls fell across her shoulder with a few curling up around her exposed collarbone. "I've never personally been, but we're supposed to visit soon." Were it not for her older sister's family situation needing a little extra care Calliana was sure they would have traveled the world by now. While she couldn't very well blame them for their illnesses she could count the days for a grand adventure. "My baba grew up there, though, and he said that in the thick of winter spirits come down from the mountains to snatch up anyone fool enough to go out after dark." She grinned. "I used to think it was a silly story until I saw someone someone else from Zena, who had no idea who my baba was, and they said it was true."

Willow couldn't help an amused chuckle. "Only in looks, really. We're rather opposite otherwise. He'd rather stay home and study, whereas I find learning about others by actually talking to them is more fun." The story of course had Willow leaning forward with interest as well. "Spirits? You're liable to get yourself run out of town with that kind of talk." She chuckled again and cocked her head. Someone else from Zena said the same thing? "Well, whether or not it's spirits, it sounds dreadful. Why would you live where earthlings are known for being snatches up at night?" While she spoke against the idea, her posture and tone were the opposite. It was all fascinating to hear about!

Calli flashed a grin that lit up the corners of her unique eyes. "I'd like to see them try." If her papa's antics weren't enough to see them on the ropes then there was nothing she could do to oust them. Or maybe she should just try harder. "Why would you ever live where they aren't? Staying somewhere that's safe is nice, but it's dreadfully boring. Where's the spark? The adventure?" Calliana spoke with all the fervor of an actress in training with piss poor experience to back it up. While she'd done some traveling with her fathers they'd yet to leave the continent, but the stories....

Willow paused a moment before giggling again. She was willing to bet Calli would give hell to any town that tried to run her off. She hummed contemplatively and then shook her head. "Call me dull, but I like knowing I have a safe place to sleep at night. A little trip though.. mmm, it would be amazing to visit." Her expression turned wistful as she leaned onto one arm propped on the desk. "I can imagine there're so many people to see and listen to their stories. Go explore their worlds and have as many adventures as I can manage. Then come home and curl up in my cozy bed and sleep it all off. That sounds good to me."

"Do it then." Calliana motioned toward the Geian. "Go while you can. Explore where you want, live how you want and when it's time to come home you can do it with a full heart. Dreamings only going to get you so far." Call it a little hedonistic, but Calliana didn't believe in holding back. Having a stable home to come back to was a charming idea, but she saw so many that wanted more yet were too scared to grab it. Even for a moment. "If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? Just off the top of your head."

Do it? Just like that? Willow laughed with delight. "You sure are a sparky spirit. I can't just get up and go now can I. I can't just walk away from my job here, I doubt I'd enough money for traveling comfortably yet, and a trip that big... Well..." Goodness, the flames of her wanderlust were being fanned into a bright shine. "I mean.. there's nothing stopping me from at least planning it out, right?" The last question got a more comfortable smile again. It was an easy answer for her. "Yael. I just hear about how different everything is there, unlike any other place we know. Have.. have you been there yourself?"
