Noelle's parents had explained to her that she needed to do something intellectual this summer. They told her that they had found the perfect camp for her to attend. One where she could invent, explore, and make her way through the summer. She had never been to a camp like that before. Noelle was excited to attend the camp and see what she could learn. She was ready to take on the challenge and use her creativity to the fullest. She wanted to make the most of her summer and learn something completely different.
So she quickly ran upstairs and packed her Christmas backpack and made sure to have all the necessary items for the camp. She was ready to go and experience something new. With that she ran downstairs where her parents were waiting at the door to take her to camp. She smiled and said, "I'm ready to go!" Before she knew it she was in the car and arriving at camp. She quickly got out of the car. She was filled with excitement and anticipation as she stepped out of the car and into her new adventure. She couldn't wait to see what the camp had to offer but before she needed to say goodbye.
Her parents were proud of her. She hugged and kissed her parents goodbye. They promised to visit her soon and she waved as they drove away. She was excited to start her new adventure and couldn't wait to make new friends and explore. "Now where do I start?" she thought out loud as she looked around the entrance.

Embly Parks was helping out with a Stem camp this summer, helping young minds spark interest in different things she was excited for this starting event. She had been planning for this for a long time and was working with her old elementary school to work with the kids who were now where she once was. She hoped she would get a chance to work with some of the kids that didn't always fit in with the popular kids. Embly smiled as she came forward with a clip board. "First thing is first you need to be put in the place you will be sleeping and then activities will be starting."

Noelle turned at the sound of a voice. Hearing them mention the first step really put her at ease. Since honestly had they not said anything she might have been totally lost on her first day at camp. She smiled, relieved that someone was there to help her. As she saw that she had a clipboard she figured she might as well speak back. Since they most likely worked or volunteered at the camp. After all who else would carry around a clipboard and help a kid like her?
"Oh hello! I'm Noelle - it's nice to meet you," she said kindly as she continued, "So this is actually my first time at something like this. Is there somewhere I can find all that information?"
She asked, hoping the person she spoke to had the answers she was looking for. Since this STEM camp was the first camp she had ever attended where she stayed away from home. Most of the time she preferred to stay home with her wonderful housekeeper. This year though her parents wanted her to experience something new. She was excited to meet other kids and try new activities, but she was also nervous about being away from home. She was hoping that the people at the camp could help her feel more comfortable and relaxed and maybe this person was the first step to making that happen.

Embly nodded "Come on I'll take you to the information table and we can find where you are supposed to go." She was a bit nervous about all this she wasn't sure what she had thought had crossed her mind to make her think she could do this. She took a deep breath she needed to get through this and focus on helping the campers. She took Noelle to the information table to find what cabin she would be staying in and the schedule of the activities that were available for the campers. Many of them were about nature and science studies. There were also some normal camping activities thrown in like hiking and swimming.

Noelle was so very happy that she had found the right person to help her. Her cheerful spirit just couldn't help but shine through her smile. Slowly the nervousness was fading away inside her. She figured that if she met more people like Embly maybe this camp wouldn't be too bad.
"Thank you so much! You are so kind," she said as she followed her before asking, "So what is your job at this camp?" She was curious so she figured she had to ask. After all it's rude not to get to know someone who was helping you, at least she thought so.
Not only that but she was excited to take a look at what this STEM camp had to offer. Even if it was her first time away from her parents she knew she had to be brave and enjoy this camp. She was determined to make the most of this opportunity and learn as much as she could. She smiled as she thought of all the new things she was going to learn and the new friends she was going to make.

She frowned and rubbed the back of her head "Not much I'm afraid I'm just volunteering with the entry you will be with others for your actual classes and with campers for the evening events." She sighed, she was so bad at social things and she wouldn't know where to begin with teaching a class anyway unless it was a class on first aid then she might be able to handle it but she wasn't so confident about that. She lead her to the table where the camper's names were listed and schedules were being given out. She sighed out "Don't worry you'll be fine." And in her head, she was telling herself that she would be fine as well.

She listened and realized that her worries were all for nothing. She smiled at the girl and said, "It's going to be a great summer." She knew they were both going to have an amazing time. As they reached the table she smiled. "Thank you! I will say I think you are doing a wonderful job volunteering! I hope we get to see each other again," she said with a hug. She didn't know if hugs were okay here or not, but she felt it was something they both needed.
After finishing her hug, she turned and looked for her name on the table. It took her a few moments, but she found it and smiled as she pointed to her name. Excited she had found her name, even if she didn't know any of the names on the list. She turned to Embly and said, "I found my name!" She didn't know why but she felt like it was a great achievement for her.

Embly smiled she was glad she had helped the girl even if it was in a small way. "I'm sure it will be a good summer and I'm sure you will learn a great deal while you are here." Embly wouldn't be spending the night likely she would likely only be here the first day or so to help get things started before she headed home after finishing her time volunteering. She nodded as she found her name and information. She sighed out she had a lot of other kids she would have to help in the same way. "Alright I hope you have a wonderful time, I have to get back to helping other kids, but perhaps we will meet another day." She said in a gentle tone. She wouldn't be doing much but at least she had been helpful to one child which was enough for her to feel good about this.

Noelle smiled and said, "Definitely, I hope you have a wonderful summer too! If I do see you again I'll let you know everything I learn!" As she said that she turned to the table, grabbed her schedule, and a person helped her go in the right direction towards her group. She was so excited to learn all she could this summer. She wanted to learn as much as she possibly could.
Before she left the room completely she turned and waved goodbye with a bright smile. As she turned back, she knew this summer would be one she would never forget. If not for the kindness of Embly it might have turned out differently, she was so thankful for her. She was sure she would never forget her help this summer!
