Nature’s Boon (10) : Flowers are blooming at an incredible place across the city and sometimes barren patches of grass can be overrun with flowers overnight. There have been heavy showers and a high pollen count but there doesn’t appear to be any other explanation. It is not uncommon to find trees with nearly double the leaves they usually have, with vines twisting up houses, flowers covering the front yard, or local fruits to have doubled in size. This isn't the first time Destiny City has seen such oddities, and there doesn’t seem to be any negative effects to this; scientists are questioning climate change. Or is it radiation??
Farbauti was not settling easily into the senshi business, or at least, he didn’t feel like he was. For every nice thing that seemed to come his way, it seemed like at least two other things happened to knock him back down and remind him that he didn’t know what he was doing, that he wasn’t learning very quickly (or he didn’t think so anyway), and that he still felt like there must have been some mistake. Probably, he wasn’t helping himself very much by having such a realistic outlook on the situation—one that he suspected someone or other in the motley crew of new friends he’d made recently (most likely Fang or Demeter) would describe more as “negative”—but Vanya couldn’t help it. All of this……just made sense. As a way to see the world.
Even with Star Festival things: sure, some of it had been fun, but Vanya had spent most of the event running around town on his bike, making sure that people got their delivery orders in a timely manner, and cursing all the assorted festival things for either blocking or seriously obstructing so many of his more useful routes.…… At least it was almost over.
Maybe when it was over, Vanya could somehow manage to enjoy more time with that handsome Aokigahara Knight.
In the meantime, though, Farbauti had somewhat more mobility than Vanya did, even if he still didn’t have a damn clue what he was doing. Traipsing around one of the city parks, he guessed. Wandering amidst all of the gorgeous flowers—which felt somewhat more gorgeous than usual, even, like? almost appallingly so, given how vivid their colors felt (nigh on assaultively so), and how they blossomed and bloomed like they wanted to spread all over everything—Farbauti just. tried to keep his head up. Tried to keep it moving. That overly tall Dark Mirror senshi he’d run into a few times, that guy kept it pushing even when so many things seemed to be going wrong for him.…… Farbauti had to be more like that guy: brave, strong, totally unafraid of being himself, even when “himself” didn’t necessarily make sense to anybody else.
At the feeling of a Dark Mirror aura in the park, Farbauti chased after it, hoping to find the very tall and glamorous one who talked like the runaway feral child from a roving pack of drag queens.…… Instead, he spotted some very different-looking Mirror senshi: smaller and paler, with a fuku that had pants instead of the other one’s many layers of fluffy skirts.…… Maybe this senshi wouldn’t be doing much of anything? Farbauti kinda hoped not. Having to start a fight to stop any nonsense sounded like a daunting prospect. For now, he just……lurked behind this tree, keeping an eye on the Dark Mirror, and hoping that he wouldn’t do anything crazy.
