Shock Mark (15) : Thunderstorms are common this time of year, but what’s not common is the number of people reported being struck by lightning. Strangely, people are surviving with only minor, if any, injuries at all. Being struck can feel like a static shock, or can feel like a sudden flash of heat, and targets are left with a strange lightning mark across their body. Though the marks will fade, for their duration–up to a full week after being struck, you might notice that you are more prone to static shocking yourself or others, and you may notice electronics charging or overcharging and malfunctioning. The marks can take longer to fade at player discretion, or players may choose for them to leave pale scars, but otherwise there are no lasting effects.
The rain was pouring down, and the streets were flooding, as a little silver kitten, wearing gold bands on his ankles hopped around frantically, trying desperately not to get washed away. Finally, Dari used his brains and leapt to higher grounds - a metal street bench screwed into the ground. Too late he realized, what a bad idea that had been.
Brilliant white light, and toasty hot heat, as well as some static suddenly engulfed him. And then... time stood still. His life began to flash before his eyes. He remembered his parents and brief blurred images of the court Ra Senshi as they were and their worlds and he also remembered a black she-kitten slightly smaller than him also blurred- who was she and why did she seem so familiar.
Then an image of his father appeared before him. "Darius Ammun. Wake Up." "But Father, aren't I coming to join you?" "No. You, are not ready. You have so much to do. Now wake up!" And his father was gone, and in the place of his father's face, was the face of Drew, Drew Bones, the latest incarnation of Eternal Sailor Etamin, who Dari had adopted as his 'Daddy', and that of Drew's twin sister, Dria Bones, the latest incarnation of Eternal Sailor Pasithee.
Dari found himself crumpled on the bench. Drew and Dria were stroking him and saying, "Dari! Darius Ammun, Wake up!" He shook his to clear it and slowly rose to his feet. "He's awake!" "What happened? I thought I was struck by lightning." Drew and Dria's eyes met and then they nodded. "It's apparently becoming a more event that people and animals are being struck by lightning. Furthermore... many are not only are many surviving, but most have few if any injuries and... some strange side-effects."
Dari had finally got his strength back and sat back on his haunches. He looked at Daddy quizzically. "What ... kind of strange side-effects?"
Drew looked up and to the right as he counted them off; "You may be more likely to static shock yourself or others, with a single touch, you might charge or even overcharge electrical items, sometimes causing damage, oh and the last one. Um." Dari wondered if he should be rolling his eyes- unfortunately, even if he should, he couldn't at the moment, as he was so exhausted.
Drew turned to Dria and gestured, "Dria, do you mind?" Dria nodded and then reached inside her backpack and pulled her make-up compact -she only carried it for it's mirror to do her hair, and she now took this mirror and faced it towards the once completely silver kitten. He now had a white hot lightning streak starting at the tip of his right ear, that went down his front and stretched to the tip of his tail.
Drew was going on about how he might have a pale from this. but all Dari could think about was two things - he could have so much with this, and who was that black kitten and why did she seem so familiar?
