Cyril did not know what he had expected when he arrived in Matori. The country was next to the ocean, which was to be expected considering it was where they were to go for the boat leading to Yael, but it wasn't too horrible a place. The buildings were more island-like with some huts scattered along the coastline while the town that they were currently resting in was full of smaller buildings with a bustling marketplace full of travelers who were preparing for either venturing further inland or going out overseas like Cyril was towards Yael. It was nice and warm as well, something he appreciated as he walked along the pier while looking around. It was far too nice to simply sleep in their room like Selim was and so Cyril decided to get some fresh air, taking all the time in the world since they still had until tomorrow morning before departure. Eventually he turned away from the docks and walked along the coast to a more private area so that he could start doing some stretches. Even if he wasn’t set to do any performances while traveling, the performer wanted to keep in shape by practicing on occasion.

“Ah.” Cyril almost walked past but then realized that the girl in front of him was not exactly like the Matori. Was this a Kahi? All the way out here? His brow furrowed in confusion before her direct question took him by surprise. “I am. Does it matter?” He was somewhat defensive, still hating his Yaeli heritage and the looks it brought him…especially after a pair of younglings nearly murdered him over it.

Cyril frowned but after that rushed explanation and the eager expression on the girl’s face he didn’t feel quite as angry. “I see.” He managed quietly before studying her. “I’m part Yaeli and Belrean. I came this way to visit Yael for the first time in my life. Kind of far from the Kahi, aren’t you?”

“Potentially.” Cyril nodded. “You’re an explorer?” He questioned with a raised brow. “Pretty young for one, aren’t you?” What was she a teen? Did the Kahi simply look young because he would guess she was closer to sixteen if he had to put an age to her like with earthlings.

Cyril chuckled quietly. “Fair enough, my apologies.” He paused for a moment to consider her question, the hybrid wondering how much he should reveal to the hapuna. Well, he was bored and needed the practice….so why not? “I’m a performer. Want to see some?”

Cyril nodded. “Alright, then make yourself comfortable.” He opened his satchel bag, digging out the metal fans that were folded up. “This would be best in the evening but we’ll make due with the afternoon sun.” He flicked his wrist, the blades opening up in a fan and held them out. “I dance with fans and fire.” The mage explained, his gaze bright as flames exploded from his fingers and danced across the metal.

“Well it does take a lot of practice. I’m an expert for a reason.” Replied Cyril with a smirk, proud of his work and confident in his skills. He twisted the fans back and forth getting a feel for them before taking a few more steps away, marking a smoother area of beach for his stage. “Ready?”

Despite the teasing, Cyril kept his composure. He was imagining that he was back home on stage, surrounded by a crowd eager to see his dance. It was something that he desperately missed, the longer they were away the more he realized just how much he did love putting on a show. And so he began a show, twisting and turning in graceful movements that highlighted the trail of fire that came from his fans. At one point he was a mythical creature soaring through the skies, another point he was just fire in general as it raged across the landscape and then for a finishing twist he even tossed the blades in the air and caught them over and over as he continued dancing.
