Curious Findings (17) : Maybe it’s got something to do with the weather, or the construction, or all the other general oddities that seem to occur in Destiny City, but for the first time in nearly fifty years, the historic tree in one of Downtown Destiny City’s parks has woken up. While the tree was known for being alive and growing despite a lengthy hibernation, this is the first year that it’s sprouted leaves–but that’s not all! The unique tree has now also started growing strange pods. Because of the trees legacy–and not at all because of the oddity–the area has been taped off, but that really hasn’t been enough to stop anyone curious enough to investigate. The tree itself is several feet wide and stands roughly fifty feet tall; it’s branches spread significantly and seem like they can hold a lot of weight–which is good, because the pods growing on it have a hard brown shell and can grow up to the size of a soccer ball. Sometimes, the larger ones seem to tremble and shake in place. Maybe it's an animal trying to nibble? Maybe it’s just the wind? Maybe it’s something else. The pods can be pulled from the tree or collected from the ground; the shells are incredibly difficult to crack open, and some of them leak a strange, acidic sap that is strong enough to cause skin agitation–and in some cases there are even reports that it’s burned through wood or fabric. Sometimes, the healthier looking pods that aren’t leaking anything even seem to shake on their own, which is a mystery in itself. Another mystery is why Almadel seems so keen to trade for them…
Christabel heard the other day that a new mysterious tree had grown in a park in Destiny's Downtown park. She had to see it for herself. What exactly makes this tree so different? So, she decided to take a trip to the park and investigate the mysterious tree. Today her patrol was all about the tree and the secrets it held in its mysterious branches. She was determined to uncover the secret of the strange looking tree. She arrived at the park and saw the tree for the first time. It was much taller, and its leaves were different than any tree she had ever seen before. She knew she had to find out what made this tree so special.
"Wow this tree - it looks like it has some strange ornaments hanging from its branches," she spoke aloud as she marveled at the branches. Then she looked around and noticed no one was around the tree but her right now. Was this really the right tree? Or was there another tree she was missing? Since it didn't seem that popular to her. "I wonder if I'm looking at the right tree," she thought aloud while still wondering about the strange ornaments.

She heard a voice asking questions about the tree she had been talking with another figure not long ago there were a number of people around the tree but it didn't matter at all she was fine talking well sorta. She wasn't good with people they often misunderstood her. Thinking her stuck up when in fact she was just shy. She turned to the voice and said softly. "Umm well I think it is a special tree I'm not sure if that is in a good way or a bad way." She said looking at the tree once again still not getting one for herself.
She was questioning if getting a pod for the merchant was worth the risk of touching the pod in the first place. She couldn't say for certain that she wanted to be involved in this. Perhaps if she was she could ask the merchant what he wanted the pod for before she just handed it over so her mind could be put at ease. Yes that would make her feel better. So she went to claim one of the pods and waited for the other person to respond to what she had said.
Christabel turned around as she heard a voice confirm her question. She was happy that she had come to the right tree. Since she didn't know what she would have done if she found the wrong one. "Well I guess we should find out if it's good or bad huh?" she said as she looked at the tree and took a step forward. She watched them grab a pod and figured she should too. She wasn't sure what they were for, but she could figure that out later.
As she got closer, she turned towards them and spoke, "Oh and it's nice to meet you! I'm Christabel, Senshi of Mistletoe." She didn't know what their intentions were here, but she figured it was always appropriate to introduce yourself when someone helps you.
After she did she reached up and tried to grab a pod herself. She was almost able to reach one, just needed a little more height. So she jumped up as high as she could, and grabbed a pod in her hands. But her landing didn't turn out so well as she slipped on her landing and landed on her bottom. She gripped that pod so tightly, hoping it wouldn't slip from her grasp.

Silistra frowned and nodded anyway she didn't move to get the fruit but she noticed another who decided to throw a pod at her, she sighed and turned to the other girl and she said "I'm Silistra squire of Saturn." She hugged the pod to her chest and she looked at the tree frowning she wasn't sure any of this was a good idea. She stepped back to the edge of the area by the tree. She ran up to the other girl when she fell. "Oh dear are you alright?" She asked it was in her nature that she worried about the health of others.
Christabel looked up and smiled. This was the first squire she had ever met. Yet here she embarrassed herself somehow. "Ya I think so! Thank you for worrying, Silistra! I think I just overjumped a bit. I always forget how short I am," she said with a smile and finished with a laugh. She knew she probably looked funny on the ground as she was. Luckily she had no real injuries just a few scratches here and there. Then she glanced at her arms and was happy her pod had stayed safe.
She got back up on her feet, and dusted off her clothes with her free hand now holding the pod. She adjusted her pod and looked over at Sislistra, who somehow also had a pod in her hands too. "Oh wow, it looks like you got one too! Do you know what we should do with these?" She asked curiously. She really had no idea what to do with them, but she figured if everyone was grabbing them they must be special in someway. Maybe they were for a secret event the festival was holding or something entirely different.

She nodded and smiled a little "I'd glad you are unharmed." She said with a soft sigh. She shook her head "Don't worry about your height just next time ask for help instead of trying and getting hurt, I would have gladly given you a boost." She said with a gentle tone. She blinked and then said "Oh have you not heard of the mysterious merchant? He is willing to trade things for these and the things he has to trade for are wonderous indeed so I have been told." She had not gone herself but she was interested to learn what these pods were and why he wanted them.
She had really met a really kind person and she was happy about that. Silistra was so sweet, she truly appreciated it. Since she had never seen anyone so concerned about her safety aside from Shedir. She always got on her case about not being careful enough. She said she didn't think before acting sometimes, and she was probably right.
"Thank you I so appreciate that, you're so kind. But okay I will do that next time for sure," she said with a smile and made a mental note for the future. When she heard the mention of a trader she was intrigued, as she rolled her pod over in her hands. So there was someone out there who wanted these pods after all. She was curious why, regardless, she knew she had to find the trader after this.
"I didn't know about him until now. It makes sense why everyone wants one now. I wonder what things the trader might have." She said as her mind wondered what she could get for this pod of hers. "Are you planning on visiting him?" she asked curiously.

She shrugged her shoulders and said "I'm really not sure I am curious to find out why he wants them though so perhaps I will go if you would like me to take you there?" She offered politely. She still hadn't been sure she would go at all but perhaps she would. If someone needed her help to get there safely. She didn't really mind either way since she didn't really need anything that she could think of. Perhaps the merchant would have insight on what she did need.
Christabel was excited herself about what this trader guy might have to offer. Maybe he could give her something that would let her be in more full of Holiday spirit no matter what time of year it was. Whatever it was he had to offer she really wanted to find out.
"Yes! I'd love that! Thank you so much," she said before saying, "Let's go meet this trader! I hope he gives us each actually what we want!" With a smile she waited anxious to get going to this trader person. She couldn't wait to trade in the pod in her arms. Plus she was so happy she met someone so kind that could help her find this trader guy. Maybe this meeting was meant to be!
