Quote: The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it. Safiya wasn’t particularly one for celebrating the festivities, to be honest. Actually, the only reason she was out to begin with was her roommates had ditched her to go out to go to a party together, leaving her with an empty apartment. Normally, she wouldn't have cared, but today the silence bothered her enough to send her outdoors, not exactly to touch grass, but maybe close enough. There were crowds gathered, to watch the meteor shower; Safiya largely ignored them, but felt a twinge of envy, followed by bitterness, whenever she passed by a happy family enjoying the colorful shooting stars. Happy, complete families, with happy parents, and happy children... it made her sick. So, she transformed into Tsukuyomi, and took off to somewhere more secluded. With the large number of people gathered out tonight, she could have taken advantage to do some energy draining, but she didn't feel like even that tonight. The Dark Mirror Senshi finally found a suitable spot atop a rooftop of a tall building, to where she could watch the meteor shower in peace and have privacy as well, and sat, eating an ice cream that she had purchased along the way and listening to music on her phone that she had brought with her. Her peace didn't last long, as she sensed someone invading her personal space, and Tsukuyomi made a face as she realized that she recognized who it was. " Selamat malam, worstie. This is a private gathering- invite only- and I don't remember inviting you."

Acubens had her mouth open to greet her brother as she arrived on the rooftop before she was beaten to the punch. Almost literally. It took a moment before she recognized the voice, but when she did all she could hear was the outrage as the speaker, rightfully, hissed that wasn't very cash money of you, bestie because... yeah... Acubens had deserved that. And she'd deserved this reaction as well. That evening hadn't been her finest moment. Not by a long shot. Nor had the following meeting. Remarque and Tegmine had been right in their scolding. Instead of owning up to her actions, Acubens was martyring herself. It wasn't a good look at all. She shifted the cooler in her hands from one fist to the other, unsure of the next step, and instead deciding that a personal apology was probably fitting. And a peace offering. Tegmine would understand if she gave away a portion of their picnic when he learned that his sister was just trying to make some peace. "Yeah that's... that me," she chuckled nervously. "Worstie... yeah... I was um... actually looking for my brother. He was the other red head that night. The one who was actively scolding me for not taking responsibility that night." She took a hesitant step forward, shifting her grip on the cooler again, and took a deep, steadying breath. Apologies had never been something she was good at, always too afraid of what she would have to do to earn forgiveness or else afraid of lectures or backash, however well deserved they may have been. She was trying to get better, but that didn't help the way her breathing shook with ehr nerves. "Look..." she ventured softly, "I'm not expecting you to forgive me, and I'm not even hoping that we'll be like... best friends... but I am sorry for what I did during that battle. And I'm sorry for that... ******** performance of a meeting afterwards. I should have called you guys on your own, or maybe as a small group of just you guys..." she huffed, irritated at her own rambling. "It doesn't matter what I should have done. It's not what I did. And, again, I'm not expecting anything to come of this except a sort of... truce. Members of the court don't need to be besties, but we do need to trust each other. And right now you can't trust me, and I'm sorry. I'm also requesting a chance to earn that trust back. And..." She rummaged around in the cooler, producing a blueberry muffin. "Here. A peace offering. Grew the berries on my very own island and everything."

A sour look crossed Tsuyu's face at the mention of a brother, as she disliked hearing about families as much as she disliked seeing them, but it was quickly replaced with a look of suspicion, followed by weariness, as she eyed the muffin like a feral cat would a hand being held out, possibly. She was pretty renowned for holding grudges for a long time, but was it worth it in this case? Generally, Tsukuyomi was slow to forgive when she had been wronged, if she ever forgave, and she hadn't been directly wronged in this case, as much as Acubens had caused problems that had been an inconvenience that she disliked, followed by that scene she caused at the meeting after... As much as she disliked being so vulnerable like this, it was clear that there was a conflict of emotions going on, as she mulled over what judgement, if any, to pass at the moment, because she knew from her experience with growing up overseas how two-faced people could be. Acubens may have been apologizing at the moment, but was it genuine, or was she trying to lower the teen Dark Mirror's guard? The attempt at kindness via making a peace offering made her think of her cousin Cinta in a way, whose family had taken her in after the 'mysterious' death of her grandmother, as no other kin wanted her... thankfully Cinta wasn't a senshi, as far as she was aware. "Fine, I won't call a 'truce', as you say, but I'll give you a chance, for now," the sunset-colored senshi finally said, her accent thicker than usual as a sign of her emotional turmoil, "A probation period." It was better than nothing, right? She wasn't turning Acubens away, but she also would hope that the older woman would get the message that she wasn't off the hook just yet. "... Tell me about this island of yours," she added, almost demanded, as she held out her hand for the proffered muffin. Sweenys_Revenge srry she has a ton of issues

A chance was more than Acubens probably deserved for what she did, and so she accepted it with a smile. A probation period was fair. Hell, Acubens considered it generous. she deposited the muffin into the other senshi's hand and carefully took a seat a healthy distance away from her. A little more than arms length, far enough to keep out of Tsuku's personal space, but close enough that they wouldn't have to yell to be heard, watching her face for any sign that Acubens was not that welcome. "My island," she sighed, unpacking a bottle of water from her cooler and setting it between them for Tsuku to take should she please, "it's what I call my Realm. It's a chunk of land that Mirrorscape gives us. It's completely mailable. Maybe you've found some of these crystals on Mirrorspace?" Acubens pulled a small blue crystal from her subspace and set it next to the bottle of water. "These hold the elements needed to change the realms. Of course, we can also bring in our own things. My realm is where I keep crops from the outside. Since it's magic, I can grow fresh strawberries in December. Mine is like... my own personal Eden. Just this... huge garden. It's taken so long to get perfect, but I love it." She began digging into a small container of pasta salad, spearing vegetables and rotini on a plastic fork. Misha would forgive her. Probably. "When you reach super, if you want, you'll get a realm of your own. And you can do whatever you want with it." She cast Tsuko a grin as she finished, wondering vaguely what the other senshi might make of limitless potential.
