Xariy had left Kauff and the kids at the house for once while she went out to the shops in search of a few items. The market allowed her a chance to wander and stretch her legs, and after their exciting adventure in Belrea coming back to the quiet of their village was a bit nice, though she had a readjustment period once again. Xariy had been interested in getting some weapons for the children, for practice of course, and nothing so dangerous they could poke an eye out. She just hoped the shops would be decent enough for supplies.

She was minding her own business really when she spotted the interesting woman, surprised at her appearance. Xariy had never really seen one of her kind, though she'd heard of them. She worried that someone might cause the woman issue, but wondered if it was rude to see if she needed any help.

"Excuse me!" she called to her, hoping not to be rude in her approach. "Hey there! Doing alright today?"

Xariy nodded, certain that they indeed were. She wasn't sure what the woman's shops would look like, but in her travels even the different regions of the mainland could be different. Sauti had been way different than her own home, and even from when she was raised to now things had changed. She couldn't even begin to imagine how different it would be to the woman in front of her.

"Makes sense to me," Xariy smiled, holding her hand out to introduce herself. "Name's Xariy. If you'd like I could help you out. Was planning on wandering the shops myself while I have the time to."

Xariy grinned, happy that she could actually assist in her shopping trip. She thought over Alizeh's question, rubbing her chin as she considered what her own kids liked. Niyna, Liyn, and Veris were their own special case given they were all different and she wasn't technically their mother, though given she'd been caring for them in her house they might as well be. Linnea and Layn too were still fairly young, but already they were voicing their own ideas.

"Well, all of my kids tend to like things they can work with. Things that they can either turn into something or be creative with. I've noticed they really enjoy paints if you can find them. Or weapons. They could paint their weapons maybe?" Xariy offered, feeling a little less certain in her thought process now.

"That's fair, weapons aren't for everyone and that's perfectly okay," Xariy agreed, turning to look further down the street. She'd bought the children paints so they could paint on the walls of the house, and luckily that shop had recently moved itself into a more stable building instead of the small pop up shop it had been in before. The paints were a little expensive, but definitely quality for what they were.

"That's commendable. I run a house for either abandoned or runaway children, so I get that. If you want to follow me I do know a shop that could get you what you needed. They're a bit on the expensive side though, just a warning," Xariy explained, motioning for Alizeh to follow as she wandered down the road.

"Yeah, sometimes. People don't always want to be parents. I have a friend, her boyfriend was like that. Abandoned and raised by someone else because his mother didn't wish to care for him," Xariy explained, motioning around her. "Not exactly a tight knit community. I think maybe things are different where you come from, yes?"

It didn't surprise her, really. The sort of every person for themselves attitude didn't seem to fit what she'd heard of the aishan women. While she hadn't heard much she did assume their community was close.

"They can be a lot sometimes, but still sweet. I don't ask too much on where the kids came from or what happened to them. It's their business after all, and if they want to tell me they will. But I take care of them while they stay around, and if they eventually want to leave on their own that's their choice too," Xariy told her, smiling as they arrived at the shop. It was relatively new looking, the sign nice and clean and the paint on the outside of the building freshly done. Small trinkets and toys hung from the windows, and inside walls full of supplies could be seen.

"I think you'll be able to find something for your girl."

"I mean you're already helping out one kiddo already. I'd say that's more than enough. For me, I was a bit of a bad kid and ran away from home when I was young. So helping these kids out when some of them are in similar situations just feels right," Xariy explained, shrugging. She wandered into the shop, waving to the shopkeep as she wandered over to the paint supplies lining one wall. She wondered if her own kids would prefer some new paints as she examined some, turning to glance back at Alizeh.

"So what's she like? Other than sweet?"
