With how late it was she was hoping that she could catch the healer before they left for the day. Of course she also knew that it was a long shot that an earthling would be willing to stay over to help out an alkidike. Things had gotten better but they weren’t perfect.

He was closing up the clinic since his mentor had left early. Usually there were no bad injuries or illnesses to treat in the later hours of the eve so he was allowed to stay by himself to take care of the minor things. Now he was just stuck with the clean up of it all. Putting jars back and picking up the waste. He was sure his mentor had done that on purpose just so the old man wouldn’t have to clean.

As she approached the clinic she saw that it was still open. Subira thanked whatever otherworldly presence was looking out for her in Tale. Upon entering she looked around for a second before spotting someone putting things away. “Excuse me..” She called out to them as gently as possible to avoid spooking them.

He was too busy putting things on the shelf that he missed the person coming in but he heard their voice. “Yes?” He answered before turning to look at who it was. When he laid eyes on the woman he paused. Well that was new. He’d not had the honor of treating an Aishan before but he knew his mentor had. “Can I help you?” He asked a bit shyly.

“I hope so.. Are you a healer?” If this boy was just the helping hand left to clean up the shop then she was out of luck and she’d have to go find somewhere else to get looked at. So she held out hope that she had run into a little bit of luck while she was here. Tale wasn’t the funest place she’d been so far, though she did tolerate it since it was where her brother was.

“Uh.. I am.” He figured that was a given since he was the one with his hands on the jars but he didn’t want to be rude. “Did you need something?” Perhaps if he got the woman to tell him what was going on or what was wrong then he could better determine the way to help out.

“Well, funnily enough I need a healer.” She commented with a mix of sarcasm and amusement. “I uh.. May have tripped a hunter’s trap..” Subira hadn’t meant to. She’d seen the wire and had full intents to go around but there had been a youngling playing in the field and she didn’t want to leave it there for something worse to happen. So she’d sprung it and gotten cut in the process. To show her point she turned her leg around for Tiam to see the gash across her calf.

“Right.. Sorry.” As the alk explained she’d triggered a trap he looked a bit worried. Instantly his eyes searched her for obvious signs of a penetration would or something from metal teeth. When she turned to show him the gash he gave an apologetic look. “That.. that seems deep.” She was definitely going to need stitched up. “Uhm.. take a seat.. Or uh, lay down actually. I’ll grab the supplies.”

“Yeah. I got it to stop bleeding so much but figured it needed tending.” That and if her brother found out she didn’t go to the healer he’d likely yell at her. Plus Subira wasn’t all that fond of getting an infection. Not to mention it hurt to walk on. As he instructed her to lay down she moved over to the exam bed and did just that, positioning her leg so that he could easily reach the gash.

He was quick to grab what he needed. There was a bit of relief that flooded through him when she said she’d managed to get the bleeding to slow down. It meant she hadn’t hurt anything major. Of course the lack of a blood puddle on the floor also indicated that. When he had the supplies be walked over to her and dragged a chair over so that he had something to sit on while he worked.

She watched him drag the chair over then laid her head down on her arm so that she was somewhat comfortable. “Hope I didn’t stop you from leaving. I saw you cleaning up.” It would make her feel bad if she prevented him from making it home to dinner on time or meeting up with someone.

“Its alright.” Tiam shook his head a little before pulling out the things he needed to better clean the wound with. He concentrated on that for a minute before he glanced up at the alk. “I’m sorry I forgot to ask.. Can you tolerate the pain or did you need something for that?” Since she’d come in without being carried he’d just assumed she could withstand it.

She was a bit surprised when he asked her if she needed something for the pain. “No, I’m fine. It honestly doesn’t hurt as bad as when it first happened.” And that was the truth. So far all she felt was an annoying sting but nothing she couldn’t handle. “I might like a salve to prevent pain for later if you don’t mind. I have a long walk home.” Jauhar wasn’t exactly the next town over.

Knowing that he wasn’t causing her pain made him relax a bit as he nodded his head and continued with his job. “I can manage that. The pain shouldn’t be too bad if its taken care of properly.” He got the wound cleaned out and noticed that it wasn’t as deep as he initially thought though it still required stitching. “When you get home be sure to go to your local healer if things get worse.”

“Will do.” The time it took her to walk back home would likely be the time it took for her leg to heal up. At most she might need to stop and remove the stitches. With the awkward placement of the wound she may need to ask for assistance with that or risk cutting herself.
