At least it was finally spring. Cyrus stretched his arms above his head as he surveyed the clearing near his home. The stream was cutting through the area, curving right outside of the stone manor that his family had expanded over the years with even a nearby treehouse connected to it, and honestly in the morning sunlight everything looked lovely. While he was still unable to really decide upon his future the hybrid had a feeling that it would take a lot to ever have him leave this forest. Everything was just so beautiful and peaceful here, well minus the occasional bandit raids and wandering beasts, that he couldn’t imagine life elsewhere. He had visited the Oban cities before with his mother when she went on artisan trips and even had visited his family in Matori, but nothing was quite the same as the forest. The ocean was nice, but having sand everywhere was more of a nuisance for him while the soft feeling of grass and moss beneath his bare feet was a much more pleasant experience. He could just go swim in the stream here if he wanted. Who needed some endless salty water that burned your eyes and throat if you weren’t prepared? Plus, the nearby clearing here was full of so many wildflowers that he wanted to collect some before the season was over and create a display for the dining room table back home. And so Cyrus stood near the stream with a basket on his arm, preparing to cross so that he could wander through the stretch of forest that emerged into a wide meadow full of various flowers and wildlife.

Sylas had been so bored! Apparently, he made it well known enough that some of his family shooed him out of the house telling him to go find his brother. So, that was what he was going to do! "CY!" He yelled, "Where are you?!" He shouted as he closed the door behind him. At the very least, it was nice outside now. He could do without the cold of winter, he much preferred spring with the nice crisp days and pretty flowers and the sun on his face but not hot enough to burn him. Yes, this was much better than being bored inside! Maybe Cy was in the treehouse! He marched around the house in order to find his brother.

And there goes the peace and quiet. Joked Cyrus as he heard Sylas yelling his name. The teen turned away from the water and took a few steps so that he could wave towards his twin, the basket on his arm bouncing with the movement. "Over here!" He called out, hoping that he was yelling loudly enough despite feeling like he had a much quieter voice. Was Sylas so bored that he had gotten booted out of the house again? It would not surprise him, especially if their mother was working on a project. Glasswork was delicate and having teens running about always made Kyril nervous even more so if the fires were going to help mold the glass into the various figurines and things that she crafted.
"I'm going to pick wildflowers, want to tag along?" It perhaps sounded like a silly idea especially in a village of rangers who preferred fighting and hunting, but Cyrus enjoyed the fresh air in the meadows and liked to benefit from any activity he participated in. So a refreshing walk in the meadow could give him wildflowers to decorate the house with, that was considered a win in his book.

[Sylas 2] The young boy had almost been to the treehouse when he had heard his brother's voice. It took him a moment of walking around the house to figure out that his brother was near the stream. It took him a moment but he jogged over to him. "We can pick flowers if you want to, I don't mind. I'd rather be picking flowers than getting in trouble!" Not that he got in trouble a lot..... "What are the flowers going to be for? Did you find a girl you think is pretty?" He waggled his eyebrows at Cyrus. They were old enough now that girls weren't so icky but he still hadn't thought of any that he wanted to consider more than friends.

"Sounds good. The meadows are in full bloom so I thought I would make some bouquets to brighten up the house." Cyrus explained before the teasing about a girl had the teen stumbling. Frowning, he looked at Sylas like really before simply shaking his head. "As if I could get away with flirting with any girl and not have you or anyone else in our family notice." He quipped back towards his brother. "Why did you notice someone?" Their family was always watched within the village, especially since their father was the head ranger. He couldn't even imagine trying to have a romance, not when he didn't even know how to stand anyone outside of his family! Maybe he could be like Zota who snuck away to a nearby village in Tale for dates...even she wasn't that sneaky that the rest of the family had noticed a slight difference over the last year. Then again maybe only he had noticed? Anahita was too busy with being a ranger while their younger sisters were constantly up to pranks as well...who knew? Either way Cyrus shook of the distraction and gestured for Sylas to follow him towards the foot bridge that would lead the way across the stream and towards the meadow.

[Sylas 3] "Oh..okay...that makes way more sense." Sylas said with a laugh. He thought that if his brother had started liking some girl that he would be the first one told! Cy was right though, they had a large family so someone was bound to notice. "You bring up a good point though....I'll have to consider that when I do find someone I like....that'll probably be in like 20 years though." As they walked towards the foot bridge, Sylas thought about the kinds of flowers that should be growing right now. "What kind of flowers are we looking for? Any? or did you want certain colors?"

"Twenty years?" Teased Cyrus with a chuckle. "With your antics do you think that you'll make it that long?" It was a playful jest, especially since he hoped they all lived to see at least sixty! Maybe more...depending on how life was at the time, he supposed. Even thinking about being older was hard so how could he even ponder romance? It was such a strange thought and he was much more interested in his studies and pranks more than dating.
"Anything that catches your eye." Replied Cyrus with a nod. "I was thinking maybe some goldenrods with some lilies or something similar, like pink and blues to go with the gold." There were those pink lilies that had the golden tips at their petals. Those were really pretty and would look nice with the goldenrod and maybe some of those deeper blue wildflowers that were super tiny and clumped together on a stem. "But honestly if we collect all sorts of flowers we can just make multiple bouquets to put throughout the house or even give away."

"I mean..I don't really know. Might be fourty years from now." Sylas exaggerated further. "Okay I'll just pick the perfect pretty ones then." He said with a smile. He couldn't help his sillyness sometimes, Sy turned around and was walking backwards while they talked. It was only when he almost tripped did he start walking the right way. "I guess I shouldn't do that in case I step on some pretty flowers!"Sylas thought about the kind of flowers he wanted, they were almost near the clearing that normally had a lot of pretty ones when he thought he heard something. "Cy....do you hear that?" His voice was serious, he would be fun and play when he could but not when there was some weird noise.

"What? You'll find love when you're a great-great uncle or something?" Joked Cyrus with a chuckle though he was implying their sisters would be the ones with children, not him. He couldn't imagine having any of his own, not at this very moment! "Wait until the golden years and then bam!" His amusement faded though as he focused on gathering some flowers, a couple already picked and placed into his basket when Sylas caught his attention again.
"Hmm?" The teen frowned and tilted his head, listening carefully for whatever his twin was hearing. "I don't think so? What are you hearing?" His frown deepened as he continued to listen, something almost buzzing faintly in the background but then again Cyrus didn't know if maybe he was just hearing the stream or a breeze rustling through the trees in the distance.

Sylas laughed pretty hard, could he imagine himself being an old man by the time he decides to find someone to love. "I guess it'd be you and me till the end huh?" He teased more. He turned his head around a bit to try and identify where the sound was coming from. "It sounds like....rattling?" He wasn't sure how to describe it. "I think it's from over here..." He made his way towards a copse of trees. "I think it's coming from in here..."

"You know heading towards rattling is against everything I've been taught." Warned Cyrus even as he followed Sylas towards the copse of trees. Though the creature he knew had a rattle was a keldari and those weren't anywhere near Tale or Sauti. He had only seen a couple back in Oba when he visited the dance school with family. There had been a dancer who enjoyed using the snakes, as strange as the thought was there had been something interesting about seeing the different type of dancing. Not that he was much of one for dancing, he knew that some of his family loved it but it simply wasn't for him. Just like how this rattling situation wasn't for him either, but yet here he was following his twin towards potential danger.
"Wait do you see that?" He stopped, reached out to tap Sylas on the shoulder before pointing towards an area near one of the trees. "What is that thing?" Was that where the rattling was coming from?

"Wait aren't you supposed to be the strong and silent type?" He teased his brother. Cyrus did have a point. Normally when something was making that kind of noise it meant to stay the heck away from it....but...it wasn't quite a rattle. Sylas wasn't sure what it was. "Its like...a nest? Wait, are these those bee things?"

"It doesn't mean I need to be reckless," Retorted Cyrus even though there was a faint smile of amusement with his sharp words. Admittedly just because they were taught to recognize danger it didn't always mean that they actually avoided it...the pair had been in too many risky situations for that. Still, his playful banter faded when he noticed the bees. "I think so. Did a nest fall down?" He let out a low whistle. "That's a lot of bees. Do you think we could take care of it somehow? It would be a shame if someone actually came out here and got stung." Hadn't they seen some guy with bees before on that farm all the way out in Sauti once? They had been there to trade for some supplies and the man had a variety of animals and crops, including hives for honey as dangerous as that sounded. Someone had mentioned something about smoke helping...was that really a thing? Maybe it was about time to find out.

"I...don't think I see a nest anywhere. Maybe some animal got to it? I guess we can look around and see if there's a nest anywhere around here." Sylas suggested. What could they do for this swarm of bees? "We should probably do something...I think I heard that people can be allergic to these if they get stung. I hope I'm not allergic!" That would be pretty bad if he discovered that he was while the two of them were out here by themselves with a lot of bees. "What do you think we could do? I wonder if we built like...a box, would they go in? I bet if the nest is destroyed if we put some in a wooden box they would like it right? Hmmm." He tried to remember what else he had learned about bees.

"Good luck looking through a swarm of bees." Replied Cyrus with a thoughtful frown. "They may be blocking whatever is left of the nest from view..." He glanced between his brother, around the clearing and then back to the buzzing bees. What could they do in this situation? There had to be something that he could figure out. Then Sylas mentioned a box and his expression brightened. "We could! Do you think we could quickly make a box if we run back home? I don't think they'll be moving anywhere soon and even if they do at least they won't be in the field anymore."
He chewed at his bottom lip, his expression shifting thoughtfully as he kept thinking about ways for them to not get stung. "Smoke. Once we make the box we should grab another box to set on fire that's full of pine needles or something. That'll calm them down, I think."
