Kala 1
He was back in Kahi to pick up some supplies that both of his parents requested. He was adventurous even for a prentice and safe enough in either homeland so long as his grandparents could see the menehune in him. They had pretty much given up on their son since he had married outside their moakai race. He did not have good opinions on them but his multi colored eyes allowed him to go where he wanted without their harrassement and his green scales, thankfully he didn't look identical to Kaiko or he may have had a problem with them.
He was at one of the markets for menehune, next he would travel to the other side and see about the moakai spices.

Kai was prepping for his travels in the markets as only was expected of him. His parents had deducted him to specifically because he hadn't thought to. He was so new to adventuring and the likes that he hadn't even considered gathering supplies for the journey, but he supposed that was just what people did. Did hair and skincare products count as necessities? He thought so. What was he to do without them? He couldn't just allow his skin to get dry after all that was just offensive. Wandering through the markets was a bit of a task, and he was now thoroughly lost considering the effectiveness of carrying skincare products around when he bumped into a solid form.
"Oh! Sorry! Question do you know anything about adventure supplies?" He went ahead and asked the boy he had bumped into.

“Er, kinda? But I dont know where they would be located here, Im after spices myself but its a big place maybe we could scout it out as a team? Sometimes its better to have someone else to bounce ideas off of.” He paused, “Are you going on an adventure then?” He supposed he was on one now.

"Teamwork is smart, you're right. Good idea!" He clapped his hands together, deciding this new plan of action was perfect and meant to be. He held his hand out to the boy, attempting to introduce himself. "I'm Kai, and yes I'm going on a grand adventure."

“Kalakaua, son of Ikaika and Kaiko, so you will understand if I like your name on principle.” He grinned, pleased to habe met another Kahi. He had his family at home but where they loved there were just not that many Kahikinians as there was here.
“Very pleased to meet you.” He said remembering his manners.

Kai perked up and nodded, pleased that the boy liked his name. He wandered around him once, taking a better look at his appearance as he hummed to himself.
"Nice to meet you. You're dressed very well," Kai commented, motioning to Kala. "I like it. Are you a traveler? Or are you stuck, er, not stuck - staying here."

"My family is from Matori, despite my looks they are well established. I am a traveler, just here for groceries that are better cost and quality here, I have to head to the Moakai markets later too." He liked doing things like this for his family. They were very good to him and were close knit. "Might pick up a few things for my sisters too while I'm here."
He eyed Kai, then whispered, "Are you stuck?"

"I just find this place stifling I suppose. I want to branch out and meet other people. Like the earthlings I've heard so much about!! This Matori, you've seen earthlings there yes?" Kai questioned, grabbing the boys arm in his excitement and leaning closer. "Tell me everything while we shop. I would like to hear it all if you would allow it."

“It is full of earthings yes, from many different places, our family is a minority.” He was amused at the others intensity. “Why dont you travel back with me Kai, you could stay with us while you explore Im sure we could make room. I will do my best to describe it.”

"Travel with you? Hmmmm. Maybe! I have a trip set to Belrea soon that I shouldn't miss, but I would be interested to see how you and your family live in Matori. I think it would be incredibly exciting," he laughed, stray merchant stand distracting him as he tugs Kala along.

"You are welcome when you find the time, we have more than enough room at the house." They had put an extension on for Akea's family when they stayed there, they would probably get their own place soon but for the most part home was home and everyone lived there. It was cozy and spacious at the same time. Kala was having too much fun at the moment to miss it but it would come soon enough. He looked at the stall that had attracted the other boy and examined the contents.

"Then I will have to find my way over there to bother you!" Kai winked, patting Kala on the shoulder as he picked up a fairly ornate hand mirror and passed it to him. "You should get this so you can look at your pretty face more. I think things like this are definitely needed for adventuring, yes? That way we can always ensure we are looking our best," he continued to say, wandering over to a makeup brush set.

Kala blinked, he knew he was handsome but to have someone else say so was well..flattering, especially when that person looked like Kai. "Ahem well, I try not to be too vain..it is ..frowned upon in my extremely good looking family. I'm joking, we are all pretty and yourself especially so." Eheh. He hoped he wasn't being too awkward, he hadn't interacted with too many people yet who were not family.
"Just make sure you pull the twigs out of my hair, because it will happen."

"Be as vain as you like, especially with looks like that. I think more people should be assertive and open about how beautiful they are. There's no harm in being pretty," Kai replied, motioning between the two of them. "We're both pretty and others should appreciate it. It's also why I make sure to take care of myself!" He explained, purchasing two mirrors and handing Kala one.
