The Calling (12) : A beautiful melody drifts on the air from somewhere far away. The vocals are in a language you don’t quite recognize, but feel somehow familiar to you. Something about the song calls to you, but no matter where you go, the song seems to sound the same distance away. The longer it goes on, the more emotional the song becomes--and the more emotional you become. Something about the song is possessive and consuming, like it’s all you can think of. Something resonates in you as the song crescendos, and the feeling is at its strongest--be they good, bad, anything, but suddenly the song fades, and there’s only an emptiness inside of you. The feeling of loss is strong, and can leave someone feeling emotionally numb. Someone out there was calling to you, and you couldn’t find them.
After everything that had been going on Ametkhan hoped this patrol would clear her mind. The beautiful summer evening was the perfect backdrop for some peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As she walked, she let her thoughts drift away, focusing on the sound of the birds singing in the trees and the smell of the warm grass. She felt a sense of contentment wash over her.
Just as she felt herself in contentment, another tune invaded her head. It was a beautiful melody she had never heard before. The language she didn't know. Despite this, she felt enchanted by the song. It was like her mind recognized it, but she didn't. She felt a deep sense of longing and nostalgia that she couldn't explain. She felt like she had heard the song before, in a distant past that was almost forgotten. She knew she had to find out where the song was from and who had created it.
"I guess it's time to find this sound," she said as she tried to figure out which way it was coming from. "Does anyone else hear that song?" she said allowed hoping she wasn't going crazy.

Anniliese was on patrol after a long hiatus. She hadn't been on patrol for a long time because every time she was on patrol something crazy happened. She guess it came with the job of being a Senshi.
Sighing she made her way around the park. She stopped when she heard something. It sounded like a melody. She stopped walking and tried to listen. The melody was in a language that she didn't understand.
She felt drawn to the song. She started walking to make her way to where she heard the melody coming from.
She heard a voice called out. They were asking if anyone else heard the song. Anniliese made her way toward the voice.
Ametkhan heard someone answer and turned in their direction. It was another senshi, and luckily it sounded like she wasn't crazy. The sound was all too real. As she looked into the direction of the senshi. She noticed they were in all blue and white with blue-ish green hair. She loved the fact that she had finally found a female Senshi wearing pants like she was though. Most of the ones she had met so far had dresses. And in her case, she needed something she could move in and pants did that.
She quickly headed over to them, "Hi there I'm Ametkhan, Senshi of Crocodiles. It's nice to meet you, and it's honestly a relief you hear it too. I thought I was going crazy," she said as she started to hear the song again but very faintly and this time around it tugged on the emptiness inside her. She felt something pulling at her heart strings. It reminded her that she didn't know her real parents, and that she might never know them. She tried to shake the thoughts, but even as the song faded she still felt them.
"It's official this song is something else - did you feel different just now?" she asked trying to shake the feelings away. She felt a mix of emotions, including sadness, regret, and longing. Was it natural to feel a sense of connection to something unknown? and why was it about the mystery of her parents.

"Nice to meet you too, Ametkhan. I'm Tjilaki, Senshi of Icebergs. And yeah, that melody is definitely real,"
Anniliese replied, nodding her head in agreement.
Anniliese watched as Ametkhan seemed to be affected by the melody. She could see the sadness, regret, and longing etched on her face. She knew what it was like to feel a sense of longing. She had been missing her mother for years and still thinks of her.
"I felt it too," Anniliese said, placing a comforting hand on Ametkhan's shoulder. "It's a beautiful melody, but it's also sad in a way, isn't it?"
Ametkhan tried to shake the feeling, but it stayed no matter whether the song played or not. Observing the other senshi, she didn't see such a drastic change as in herself. It was comforting though to know they understood. Maybe it was because she was new at this, but maybe it was because she was vulnerable.
Then she felt the other Senshi's hand on her shoulder. The hand helped bring her back to focus, and the melody lost a bit of the pull on her.
She smiled, "Thank you. I'm sorry you had to experience that as well. The sense of sadness was really overwhelming. It made me think of something I might never find - my real parents. But the song you're right it is beautiful. Did it make you remember anything?" She didn't want to pry but she had to ask, almost like she didn't want to be alone in these feelings.
As she finished speaking, she tried to hear the song again, but it was no longer able to be heard by her ears. She sighed and looked away. She knew that the song was a reminder of happier times, but it also seemed to hint at something deeper. She wished she could find out what it was, but it seemed like a lost cause.
"I'm not quite sure. I heard it from the East, but then the west. What are your thoughts?" she asked.

Tjilaki nodded her head.
"Yes it reminds me of my mom. She died of Cancer when I was five years old. I miss her terribly. I am sorry to hear about your parents and I hope you are able to find them one day."
Tjilaki didn't know much about that not knowing her parents. Her father is still in her life and while her mom had passed she did remember the love from her.
She had lost her mom someone she loved at a young age. She felt the melody too but she was trying to put on a brave face.
"Do you think we should try to follow the melody and see where it leads us? Maybe it's coming from someone who needs our help. Do you think it's worth investigating?"
Tjilaki hoped that it wasn't one of the negaverse games. Although she wouldn't put it past them. They were always up to something. The amount of crazy and weird stuff that happens in Destiny City was becoming a normal thing nowadays.
Ametkhan reached out and put her hand on the Senshi's shoulder like she had done for her. She couldn't imagine losing her parents, and how much that hurt. "I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you do, and thanks. I hope one day I can find them."
As she spoke those last words she realized that if nothing else this song reminded her that one day she had to find her parents. That way melodies like this never could get to her again. Or at least she hoped.
She nodded her head at the idea. "I mean I think it's worth a shot. Like you said if someone needs our help - it's our job to help." After all that was part of being a Senshi. Making sure you helped everyone you possibly could, or at least she saw it that way anyways.
With those words she slowly started moving towards the West. The last time she heard the melody was in that direction so it made sense to head that way first. "How about we try this way and see what we find?"

Anniliese nodded in agreement and followed Ametkhan toward the tune. Anniliese couldn't help but wonder about the song and the emotions it brought out in both of them as they walked. She had never heard of a melody that could evoke such strong feelings in someone. It was almost as if the song had a life of its own.
Anniliese walked and looked around. She wasn't sure, but it sounded like the melody was getting farther and farther away as they walked toward it.
She wanted to find where the melody was coming from so that maybe she could figure out why she was having such a strong reaction to it.
She also hoped it was not some sick game from the negaverse, or a trap of some sort.
Ametkhan could hear the melody slowly disappearing, and then as she walked a few more steps. She heard the melody stop abruptly. Unfortunately, the melody didn't mean the feelings stopped as well. She could still feel that emptiness inside her, the longing to find her real parents.
Part of her wanted to continue looking, but with the melody stopping she had no leads on where to go next. She sighed and that was when she started to think. Maybe the melody was here to show her what she was missing but also to show her she needed to cherish what she already had. Like her adoptive family. With that thought in her head she decided to focus on the life she had now, and enjoy it as much as she could. She vowed to never stop searching for her real parents, but to also be content with the life she had.
She smiled as she turned towards her ally. "So I think it's gone for now. I'm not sure if it will return, but if it does we'll be ready."
She finished her sentence and handed over her phone number on a piece of paper. "Here's my number so if you hear it again let me know! I'll happily come running, but that song made me realize I need to head home. I owe someone an apology. I'm sorry, but it was a pleasure to meet you and thank you."
With that she waved and rushed over. She realized that this whole time she was hurting she was probably hurting her adoptive parents too. And she needed to show them that she did not want to replace them and that she loved them. With that in her head she raced home as quickly as she could.

Tjiliaki watched as Ametkhan walked away, feeling a sense of admiration for her determination. She understood the feeling of wanting to find something that was missing, and she hoped that Ametkhan would one day find the closure that she was seeking.
As she turned to head back home, she couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness and regret wash over her. The melody reminded her of her mother, and she wished she could have spent more time with her before she passed away.
Tjilaki tucked the girl's phone number away in her pocket and also made her way home.
On her way home she stopped at the charm stand for another charm.
