Prompt 13 Radioactive Mysteries (13) : Destiny City has been booming, but with more people you need more power. Recently, an old power plant has been renovated and updated and just opened for business–but now people have been claiming dizziness or fatigue when in the area. Not to mention the animals. So far one shady, blurry video has been posted online of a strange bear-shaped humanoid ‘monster’ in the area. It’s difficult to tell if it’s a hoax or not, but whether or not you believe it, it might be a good idea to keep your eye out if you’re in the area. Especially because if you pass through, you feel like something’s watching you. It doesn’t have an aura so it can’t be a youma, but if you poke around too late at night you might find a strange creature that's built like a bear, covered in fur, but which has a strangely human presence. Something about it is just off--or, maybe it’s just your imagination. Maybe it’s just someone in a costume having a bit of fun at your expense. Still, its claws are sharp and it’s fast. When it runs through the forests, the trees seem to crack upon impact, and if you explore during the daytime you might find strange scratches and odd markings in the grass. The longer you’re in the area, the dizzier you get. Note: If you choose to encounter the strange creature, your character will recognize that it is not a youma. The creature seems smart enough to understand human words but does not respond and does not seem to listen. It will always disappear before it can be caught or gravely injured. This RP can be used as a battle requirement for a character, separate from your ‘one youma battle’ per stage if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered and interacting with another player’s powered character for it to count. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. He would've avoided the area altogether (probably should've avoided the area altogether). Rakovanite was not of a particularly curious mind, so there was nothing that compelled him specifically to seek out the source of a few new, seasonal rumors. Things like this always cropped up around the holidays, and he found it no bother. He'd come around the old power plant trailing after a group of teenagers who'd set out with their phones and cameras, looking for a chance to post something interesting on TikTok probably. They were interested in the rumored monster, and they had practically no idea that Rakovanite was behind them, slowly sapping their energy from a respectable distance.
They were stupid, easy prey, and a healthy distaste for teenagers would've allowed him a perfectly clean conscious were he to drain them to exhaustion and leave them passed out as a group right where they were seeking out some monstrous animal. Rakovanite was sure the rumors would love that.
...But he didn't. He let them meander off down a sidestreet, still chattering with excitement for what they might find, while Rakovanite paused and warily scanned his surroundings for what he thought he felt at the edge of his senses: another aura. A super corrupt senshi, also out skulking around the locale that might be harboring a dangerous creature of some kind. He couldn't see the senshi, had no idea who it might be, and it was truly no business of his how others wanted to spend their time...
Except it might be one of his senshi.
Cervantite and Calaverite were also stupid teenagers, and it was no stretch of the mind to imagine them prowling around, looking for trouble because it 'might be interesting!' Although, if it was Cervantite or Calaverite, it might be more convenient to leave them to face whatever trouble they got themselves into, and if they died from it, that would just be one less burden for Rakovanite to worry about...
...But he wouldn't. Of course he wouldn't, because even though he was that cruel, he was also sure it would cause him more headache in the long run. If he just allowed anyone in the Negaverse to be offed when he could have (and should have) done something about it, Rakovanite was sure it'd be troublesome.
The teenagers wandered off, he stored the orbs of energy he'd gathered in his subspace along with other collected trinkets, like the green starry charms from the day's festivities, and Rakovanite moved to intercept the senshi aura in the other direction.

Originally, she had gone out to get her next batch of starseeds and rent from the less fortunate and easily forgotten members of the population. That was before she got the ping on her insta about a weird thing over by the newly renovated, but still old, power plant. Watching the videos, she got excited for a minute. The form on the screen reminded her a bit of something out of one of the old cryptid videos that people used to fake on TV. It was distinctly different though, there was a bit more detail given that it was taken with an iPhone. Smiling widely she had a new target for the evening. Is that a... creatureeeeee? Using her new ability to teleport, she made quite a record of getting to the plant. Maybe she could test out her magic on the thing, that would be amazing. Now that she had gotten stronger, she was hoping she might be able to see her own monster that lurked in the fog of her magic. Skulking around the plant, she felt the distinctly familiar aura of another Negaverse person. This was going to be fun one way or another.

Not one of his.
Rakovanite could tell that much before they were even particularly close to each other, and that information alone might have been enough to make him leave the girl to her own devices. But a part of him was still wary. A part of him still thought he'd really be quite offended if he flicked on the news that night and just saw a video taken by some idiot teenagers (that he hadn't killed) of a Negaverse senshi causing some kind of commotion at the power plant. He knew exactly nothing about this girl; had never seen her before in his life. She could be out dutifully fulfilling her quota and not getting into any kind of mischief.
But it felt ridiculously like every corrupt senshi was troublesome. Certainly both of his were, and how could he be sure she was any different from them?
With a muted grumble, Rakovanite spared a quick glance over his shoulder, as if making sure the group he'd abandoned earlier hadn't turned around and started tailing after him with their stupid phone cameras, but it seemed fine. It seemed fine, so there was nothing stopping him from walking up to the girl, besides a sincere lack of desire to interact with her. It hadn't been what he'd planned to do with his time. He pushed that to the side.
"You," the words were clipped, short, quiet. "It would be more lucrative to complete your quota in more populated areas." There were many public areas hosting summer events and luminous displays that drew in small crowds, even into the night. "So why are you out here?"

Beatrix started to notice a large form moving close just behind where the General came from. She didn't quite appreciate the snippiness in his speech, it almost felt like he was prepping to scold her for just being around. "I mean... I already have a week's worth of starseeds I gotta drop off and, well, you're in luck because I think the thing I was looking for is coming up behind you." At that comment, a roar came from right at the treeline. It was hard to see but there was a large shape that seemed to be getting closer. It looked like a bear and it was quickly closing the distance to get them both. "It would be really chill if you'd help keep that thing from eating us, kay?" Another man, but hopefully a useful one since he was chaos. She would play nice with them even if she preferred Chrysocolla and maybeeee that cute panda-toting mirror senshi she had met a while back. She already started prepping to use her magic if she needed to while getting out her phone to try and get a photo of the creature. "I'll edit ya out of the photo for my insta~ They're gonna love this!"

Maybe he didn't understand exactly what this girl was asking for from him, because it sounded suspiciously like she had come out alone seeking some rumored monster. Whatever plan she had for it prior to his arrival must have been moot, because she suddenly expected his help in doing something about it while she snapped some shots for...
Instagram.
Rakovanite failed to see how that made him 'in luck.' He was generally opposed to broadcasting most anything on social media, let alone Negaverse involvement with some feral bear-creature. And the sheer expectation that he would willingly accept this ridiculous proposal was just baffling to him. He was not going to be in any of her photos: he didn't know or trust whatever editing skill this random stranger thought she had, and there shouldn't even be photos!
She shouldn't be out making or participating in a scene! Rakovanite was really and truly completely at a loss for words because he felt like this was completely ludicrous. Why would he even bother risking himself for some <******** Instagram photo? If she wanted to, that was her prerogative, and at her rank, she shouldn't need him to get her out of trouble.
"I will not," Rakovanite seethed softly, casting just a sparing glance over his shoulder to where the creature was rapidly approaching them. "You were looking for it. Take care of it yourself." And he would stay well out of the way of any potential pics.
He flicked away in a teleport some yards behind her, out of the way of the senshi and her monster and whatever pictures she wanted of it. If it came to a point where it overwhelmed and threatened to hurt her, he might consider pulling her away... The creature didn't have an aura and wasn't youma, but there was still... something unsettling in the air. Something disorienting. The girl should know to run before it became too dangerous, and Rakovanite wouldn't help her get any stupid Instagram pictures. ...But he would begrudgingly keep her from dying, if absolutely necessary.

Well then, he's no fun. Taking a quick picture with her phone before the next bit, she shook out her arms for a second. She'd been getting pretty good at this fighting thing, ever since she won that tourney. "Lame a**!" She yelled before feeling things out, this new magic she had that she could use. She was brimming with excitement and a bit of nervousness, would she finally get to see her monster? The bear thing stood between her and the mood-killer, it looked pretty angry and a bit off but that didn't bother her too much. "Come and get it!" The fog started up as she saw her monster materialize. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the bloodstained armor wrap itself around the bear. They were... so freaking cool! She watched as it struggled against her monster while she tried to snap a few photos in the fog. Probably wouldn't get much though but was worth the likes her post would get. Pulling something out of her subspace, she ran forward and plunged it into the bear, leaving the handle of a large pair of kitchen shears sticking out of the thing as it roared. Uh oh. She saw the thing slipping free and started to run back behind the bear and over towards the other agent. The bear struggled against whatever was holding it, ignoring the ominous voice that came from the armored thing. As the small thing plunged a knife into it, it finally broke free from the armor and reared up to attack after roaring loud enough to shake the ground. It swiped out at both the figures with its large claws.Indigo_Plateau Super Sailor Scout Attack: Beatrix's Embrace A dark fog radiates out from Beatrix, a shadowy figure appears behind the enemy and whispers something before wrapping them in its cold body. They can clearly see the armor and fact that the figure is headless. It disappears with a laugh as the magic fades. Radius is 8 feet. Effect and illusion lasts for 25 seconds and can be used twice per battle

She was really, genuinely serious about those pictures. He could hardly even fathom for what purpose. To achieve what with them? He didn't get it.
Why did it seem like so many Senshi were so blasé with how they used their abilities. She should be working, but instead was out monster hunting for likes. Ridiculous. Irresponsible. Absurd. But as he'd said, Rakovanite had no intention of interfering unless the situation became dire. He almost hoped it did. Almost hoped he had any legitimate reason to break her stupid device right in front of her face.
He kept well behind her, out of her way and out of the creature's way. From where he stood, it might have even seemed like the senshi had some sort of upper hand... for a time. The magic she called in all its foggy darkness reminded him of some Halloween past, though the suit that emerged from the fog, to coil around the bear was hardly what he expected. At least the girl had some fight in her, if she was going to put herself in these situations. At this distance, he could hardly see what her weapon of choice was, but it must've been something agitating, because she was scurrying back in Rakovanite's direction in the next instant.
He had half a mind to tell her to run elsewhere if she was looking for any kind of assistance, as he would hate for his 'lame a**' to impede her photographic journey.
Instead, he just kept a comfortable distance between himself and her, and consequently, the bear-monster chasing her. She'd wanted to find it and provoke it, and she'd succeeded. Let her deal with the consequences for as long as she was able. Rakovanite would hate for all her confidence to wind up misplaced.
