He’d been in his office for a few hours now, he’d brought food and drink with himself so he could have dinner, as he worked his way through his plants and tried to rearrange things. He needed to move some of them to other places, some were too large for where they were in his office. Some had gotten tall enough to block others from the growing lamps he had running, so others were getting less light.
As he worked the General was surprised to see some budding, a good sign for sure, but others which didn’t flower were budding. Had the dark crystals in the soil caused a mutation of sorts? It certainly was lending its aid to them growing down here. “But flowers….” He wondered aloud, fingers touching a flower bud gently, it should be on this plant and yet his fingers were touching it and it was there and real.
As he continued working, taking down information, and whittling away the time working he didn’t really notice when he started to get tired. It wasn’t something he thought much of, he was doing boring work which got tiring, and so a yawn here and there weren’t worried over. When he sat himself down, on the office floor, looking around at everything he still needed to work on he sighed.
He had done a lot of moving of plants, and furniture, but his office felt a bit better now…less stuffy, despite all the plants. There were notes taken, he’d worked on that whilst moving things about. Vines now crawled down his bookcases dark wood in a cascade of dark green leaves and stems whist his side tables were decorated with replanted plants of various species. The corners of his office were home to baby trees that had decided to start budding. Overall his office looked good, better, but it was so full of green.
Yawning again he went to stand up and took a small tetting step before grasping at his desk for support. “What the hell…” Nothing was on the floor so what had set his balance off?

Cuprite had just got back to the negaverse from a small energy gathering run. It had been a fairly normal time, nothing amiss, but it was getting late enough that he would already be home by now and reading a good book to whined down. However Beni had let him know that he was probably going to be somewhat late as he had planned on taking care of his plants so rather then head back home immediately, the Captain headed towards his cousin's office.
When he saw that the light was still on inside he gave a brief knock then opened the door with a smile. "Hey are you almost done here? I was about to go back and thought I would check..." The taller blond paused in speaking when he saw Beni grabbing onto his desk. "Are you alright?" He asked, moving towards his cousin with a worried look.

Looking up at his cousin he shook his head slowly. Something was off but he wasn't entierly sure what, at least not at first, as his head swam with each movement it took him some time in looking around his office. These plants had mutated, he knew it, ones which weren't supposed to have flowers had buds. And his plants had been looking better - a lot better.
Slowly as he thought on things pieces fell into place as he made for his elder cousin on tetting legs which didn't want to support him. "Hallway, Cuprite." Because it was safer there and he was certain of it. "Flowers that shouldn't be....mutations." He hoped his cousin would catch on, and quickly at that, Cuprite might not know plants like Benitoite did but his cousin wasn't some dunce either. He would figure it out in time but perhaps faster with the hints.
Reaching his cousin hs grasped at the others uniform and found himself yawning again.

Plant knowledge has never been his forte no, but Cuprite trusted his cousin to know what he was talking about and if he mentioned something while looking like he could fall asleep right that moment? That means those words were important and to pay attention. However the puzzle could be focused on and solved after he made sure that Beni was fine.
Cuprite promptly scooped the smaller blond man up, turned around on his heels and took them both out into the hall as soon as the duo had been close enough. He carefully set the General down once they were in the hallway so he could shut the office door as an extra precaution. "Do we need to get farther way down the hall? What happened?" He asked as he checked the shorter man over for anything wrong with him other then being tired.

"I'm not entierly sure...I didn't notice it really but to be so tired is unusal for me. While al lthe note taking, for hours, can be boring it shouldn't have me so tired." And so he'd not noticed it at first, not even till just now when he'd nearly toppled over.
"Some of those plants don't grow flowers - they are budding." Shaking his head he ran his fingers through his bangs as he glanced up and down the hallway before motioning his cousin to follow him. There was a small aclove not too far from his office, a good place to duck into and talk so no one would notice them or hear them.
Once safely tucked out of sight, and out of hearing distance, he stared up at his cousin. "They are draining energy. They had to have, there is nothing else it could be. I feel drained, like someone has been tapping me slowly this whole time. Tired and bored from what I've been doing doesn't account for this." He'd been yawning the whole time and looking like he needed nothing more than his bed and a pillow right now. He knew why though.

At the mention of unnatural flowers, Cuprite gave Beni a once over to see if there was pollen on him but didn't see anything. Though that could just mean that the pollen wasn't focused enough in any area with enough quantity to see he supposed. "How long were you in the office? And you only just now noticed you were tired with no hints to any point earlier?" He asked once they were tucked away in the alcove.
The taller man frowned and nodded in understanding, sending a look back towards the office door. "I wonder if it was all of the plants or if it was just the unusual ones."

"A while, I was taking notes on the plants in there and their progress." And he'd gotten lost in the work, as his cousin could figure, he got a bit lost when it came to plants and tending to them. "I didn't realize it was that bad and it was a slow drain." Long and slow for the drain on his energy. It could be his plants draining him like that since they were new to it, they were just starting to drain energy, or maybe down here they didn't need to drain so much. He wasn't sure but it had still happened.
"I'm not sure, I don't think I'll know unless I can seperate them out and I've no way to do that as of yet." He'd need to work on that perhaps, to figure out if it was just the oddly mutated ones or not. "But I think right now I need some rest...and maybe a sign on my office door." He could also do with locking his office so no one decided to slip in and got drained.

Cuprite hummed in understanding as he looked back at his cousin. "So testing is needed to be sure then." He let out a sigh, knowing that more then likely Beni would of course do the initial of said testing on his own. "Alright, I'll put a sign up in warning, you say here and rest. When I'm down with the sign we can head back together alright?" He wasn't about to let his cousin back near his office with out rest to recover his energy, General or not.

"Fine, we can go out and gather some energy once the sign is up." That way they could get their auotas handled and he could grab a bit of energy for himself as well, might as well use it as a chance to replenish his own energy a bit quicker. "If we happen upon any senshi or knights...we'll deal with them." Because even as he was he could handle a senshi or a knight, he was sure of that.
Of course while he might be sure of it he also might actually need some help, he could be very easily downplaying just how tired he was feeling, because he didn't want his cousin to think less of him and because he'd never turn away from a fight either. He would handle any senshi or knight which might come upon them gathering energy.
"Go do that, I'll sit here." And he did mean right here...as in he sat himself right on the floo, and stared up at his cousin. "Go."

While he would have preferred for Beni to just go home and rest rather then go gather energy, he wasn't going to argue against the idea at the moment. It would after all be a quicker way for him to replenish but it could also be dangerous to him if they ran into trouble while he was so low. When his cousin mentioned they would handle it if it came to a fight, he couldn't help but flex his hands in a reminder that he always had weapons in hand, literally. He may not like to fight but he would absolutely do so to protect Beni.
He gave the General a look over once he sat down to make sure he hadn't practically fallen down instead, then turned and got to work making sure people were warned of the office. Once everything was taken care of he returned to Beni with a worried look in his eyes. "Ready to go?" He asked, holding a hand out to help the other up.

Staring up at his cousin he took the offered hand and got to his feet, a bit slower than he'd like. "Yeah, lets head back to the city and I'll grab some energy before we head home." He already had a feeling that Cuprite would be joining him in the city, he knew how his elder cousin was, and he wasn't going to send him back home. He couldn't be mad with his cousin as he understood him, and his reasoning.
So while he was certain he could handle himself, not a lot of people liked to cross paths with him, he knew that despite his words Cuprite would join him. "Any area you think'll be good for energy grabbing. Might as well also work on quota while we're at it."Natsuko-neko I think with your post we can end this.

Cuprite briefly pressed his lips together at the mention of working on their quotas tonight instead of only making sure that Beni got energy to recover then heading back. However he didn't voice his worries and instead just nodded. "Alright, I'll teleport us both to an area so you don't spend even more energy." It wasn't quite an offer as it was stated as a fact but he didn't think his cousin would mind right at that moment. He knew Beni would be doing the same if their situations were reversed.
That being said he slipped an arm around his cousin, half to support him if he faltered and half to teleport easier. One last glance at the office door, Cuprite teleported them away to find the nearest source of energy to get Beni back up to normal.
