Hobbies:
Manga — Mikki loves her manga. She has a rather extensive collection, with 80% of her books being in English while the remaining 20% are in the original Japanese text (yes, she's learning the language). She enjoys the sort of genres that keep her on the edge of her seat--horror or anything with gore, suspense/thrillers, action/adventure, or psychological dramas are her favorite. She also picks up the occasional sports manga, but she'll drop it without any problems if it gets boring. No drama or romance genres for her, and she'll punch you in the face (that is, not affectionately) if you ever recommend a slice of life one. She also occasionally watches anime and dramas, but she is a manga purist and would always, always suggest that you read the manga first before diving into the corresponding anime. She does share her love and will constantly be suggesting titles for those who are interested (and even those who aren't), and will always have a readily available stack of recommendations for anybody who even brings up the idea of "picking up something to read." As for cons, she enjoys going but strictly to see the cool costumes and maybe pick up some new books if she finds something good. She's not really into the whole otaku culture, but she can appreciate a good cosplay when she sees one.
Rugby — This sport takes up maybe three-quarters of Mikki's life. She has watched it for as long as she can remember, and practiced and played it ever since she was old enough to pick up and hold onto the ball (though obviously the contact part of the sport didn't come in until she was properly old enough). She lives and breathes this stuff, and will drop almost anything she's doing to go to a scrimmage match or watch a game, whether live or on TV. It's kind of associated as a group activity for her, so if she's alone she'll drag people to a game or force them to sit down and enjoy one on TV with her. She'll even try to teach them how to play and explain what's going on so long as they stick around. She has a picture of her favorite team above where she keeps her equipment so she's always motivated to train hard and play hard whenever she picks up her stuff to go, and she also keeps one in her locker and in her bag as a constant reminder. She's gotten plenty of injuries from the sport though, and when she's down and out of it she supplements by replaying favorite games and highlight clips, even going so far as to put together her own fantasy rugby team (with her father's help and supervision). She absolutely loves the sport, and would never want to, nor willingly, give it up for anything, ever.
Sports TV — Another thing that takes up more than its fair share of time in Mikki's schedule: sports TV. She primarily watches rugby, of course, but any contact sport, or even non-contact sport, works so long as it's fast paced and very high energy. Football, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse are other sports she enjoys watching on her downtime, often with her family. At some point she learned about hurling (the sport, not the action) and found that she enjoys watching that sport as well. As a sidenote, while she enjoys watching and learning a bit about other sports from this hobby, her focus as far as playing goes is still on rugby. She does her research and is familiar with how the other games are played, she just doesn't actively play them. If she can't get to a live game (and she prefers those over TV any day, of course) then she'll sit through a game in the living room with her family. Do not try to interrupt her unless it's something of absolute vital importance, otherwise you'll just never get her attention for long enough. Also, do not ever, ever record over anything even remotely related to sports or a game that she recorded on her TiVo unless you want to deal with a very upset (and violent) Mikki. If there's anything she's particularly touchy about, it's those recordings. Do. Not. Touch. Them.
Volunteering — Mikki loves animals, enough to dedicate a bit of her time to volunteering at a local non-kill shelter regularly. Being a student she's given a schedule to follow to accommodate school and her practice schedule, but she's also free to swing by and lend a hand whenever she has a bit of free time. Which she does when she can! She enjoys caring for the animals, spending time with them and making sure they feel loved and wanted and cared for. Of course she also has other responsibilities (like cleaning and such, sometimes even paperwork) but she enjoys working with the animals the most. She doesn't limit herself to just the shelter, though. Every so often she'll also volunteer at a soup kitchen, the local YMCA, at her parents' church for some outreach activity, and other such places that could really use the help. She likes to take people with her too, especially if they've mentioned looking for a place to volunteer at, because she does think it's a fun thing to do and a good way to spend your time. Usually she's most active as a volunteer in the summer because all she has on her plate is practices. While part-time work is an option for her, volunteering looks pretty great on applications and resumes so it seemed like the better option to fill in whatever scheduling gaps she might have.

Virtues:
Affectionate — Mikki loves touching people. Not like that. But she enjoys skinship very much and readily hugs, holds hands with, pokes, tickles, massages, kisses (on the cheek), punches, kicks, swats on the head/shoulder/back/etc., and even wrestles those she cares about the most and considers basically family. She does give fair warning when she starts getting comfortable with someone though, just so they know what they're getting into. Usually it presents itself as an arm over the shoulder or around the waist, lots of hugs and sometimes even hand-holding, but all from a very innocent, very sister-like standpoint. She's a very tactile person and this is one of the easier ways to get her feelings across. It's also a way for her to very subtly say, "Hurt them and I'll kill you."
Decisive — Making decisions have never been a problem for Mikki, if only because she doesn't like to dawdle or ponder the what-ifs for too long (or ever, actually). She prefers to be a woman of action and makes it a point to take only just enough time so that she's very sure and firm about every decision that she makes. In her opinion, the key is simply to be informed about every available option. In order to lessen the margin for error, before she makes any decisions she makes sure to do her research so that she is knowledgeable about her options and the possible outcomes. She is also someone that just knows what she likes and doesn't like, what her boundaries and limitations are, and what she is and isn't comfortable with, and she isn't afraid to let anyone else know it, either.
Forgiving — Grudges are not really Mikki's thing. She's incredibly friendly and surprisingly sensitive when she has problems with those in her inner circle, and because of this she's also particularly forgiving when apologies are finally being hashed out. Some of the time it's because she doesn't like not having her friends nearby and so she just lets things go with the bat of an eyelash so that she has someone to hug again. Other times though, if she feels particularly wronged, she'll actually wait for a very sincere and heartfelt apology. She won't hesitate to forgive once she gets one, and honestly would just forget about it; she typically doesn't hold anything over anybody's head. If she doesn't get one, she'll mope around and be pretty bummed about losing a friend.
Hardworking — Lazy is not in her vocabulary, or at least it isn't when Mikki's in perfectly good health. With the exception of when she's sick or in the hospital for another injury (when she's not usually in the mood to work), she's incredibly hardworking and disciplined. Once she gets started with something, it's basically full speed ahead. She doesn't stop and keeps working to the best of her ability until the job is complete. Half-finished anything is not an option, and half-assed anything is even worse to her than half-finished. While she doesn't actively seek out leadership roles, if she's given the task she will take the bull by the horns and stick it out to the finish. She isn't exactly a jerk about it, but she won't hesitate to be loud and in your face if she feels you're slacking.
Flaws:
Bullheaded — Now, considering how much thought and research goes into every decision she ever makes, typically once Mikki's mind is made up it is final. It's damn near impossible to change her mind even with a reasonable argument, she'll stand by her decision all the way to her grave! Typically. If you mean something to her in any capacity, though, she'll at least listen to your side of the story and maybe she'll consider that she made a mistake. Not likely, though. This also means that, once her mind is made up, you usually can't stop her from doing what she believes needs to get done. She'll charge right on forward, often foregoing any semblance of a plan and "winging it" until she gets stuck and eventually has to slow down (or stop entirely) and reassess the situation.
Ineloquent — Mikki doesn't like having to be mindful about her choice of words, much to her mother's dismay. She's very blunt with her manner of speech, and while she can be apologetic about it in school don't expect her to be if she's comfortable with you. This doesn't mean that she drops F-bombs like nobody's business, nor does it mean that every other words out of her mouth is an expletive. It does mean, though, that she speaks very crudely and doesn't care to censor herself regardless of the situation that she's in. Not at school, not at home, not in church (so her parents don't force her to go anymore), and certainly not with her friends. She can tone it down if someone asks nicely, like a friend's parent, but for the most part she doesn't care for censorship.
Loud — The library is definitely not the first place you would find Mikki. Not because she hates books or studying or anything like that, but because she's never figured out quite how to modulate her voice to a much lower decibel. She is loud and proud of it and she doesn't care who hears her talking, provided they just mind their own business and let her be. As soon as someone tells her to shut up, she'll politely tell them to shove it then keep right on talking. Depending on the situation or who it is, she might even talk louder just out of spite. Because this is the case, places that require vocal modulation (besides maybe the theaters) are not her favorite places to visit. She'll try if you're a good friend or if it's for a project, but otherwise she'd rather just avoid them altogether.
Roughhouser — Mikki's pretty heavy-handed, and not in the figurative sense. She likes to wrestle with the best of them, even without their permission. She's extremely hands on and views play-fighting as a form of affection because to her, it really is. It just doesn't register very often that that may not be the case for other people. She'll back off whenever she's told to, or (the more effective method) when she's taken it too far (i.e., someone finally broke a bone), but she does need constant reminders that people can, and do, physically break. She never intentionally tries to hurt anyone, if that's any consolation at all to the people she's given sprains, strains, all manner of bruises and minor cuts? And she will apologize, albeit with a smile and a quiet grumble of, "Weenie."
