Hot on the heels of WrestleMania, the crowd here were hyped up and ready to go for the Backlash event, the arena packed to the rafters. Whilst they mingled and talked among themselves there was a cool and chilled aura to the place, with that palpable feeling of excitement slowly building up.
But that was all flipped on it's head, as the opening riff to Shadow Moses rang out through the PA systems.
[Shadow Moses - Bring Me The Horizon]
Can you tell by the look in her eyes? (We're going nowhere)
We live our lives like we're ready to die! (We're going nowhere)
Can you tell by the look in her eyes? (We're going nowhere)
We live our lives like we're ready to die! (We're going nowhere)
The crowd all rang out a massive cheer, as that particular song signaled the entrance and re-return of a certain Hall of Famer.
A series of pyros blast out from the sides of the stage, sparks dropping from the top of the titantron. Walking out from under the sparks to a mass cheer from the crowd, stood Nuke Fusion.

Walking out in now what seemed to be a signature attire of a casual suit wear with aviator glasses, he had a massive smile on his face as the crowd cheered his arrival.
He took a few moments to take it in before walking down the ramp, slapping hands with fans on the way and grabbing a microphone from a stage hand at the bottom.
I thought I'd buried you, And covered the tracks, You'll have to take this with your cold dead hands, I thought I'd buried you! (What's dead can never die!)
Nuke walked up on to the steel steps and across the apron, stepping inside and raising a fist to another pop from the crowd.
Severed the feeling, I slipped through the cracks and you caved in my ceiling, I thought I'd buried you! (What's dead can never die!) ... F***!
The Hall of Famer waited for his music to die down, but it was soon replaced with chants of, 'Nuke! Nuke! Nuke'. Raising his hands up to acknowledge the crowd, he then raised the microphone to his lips.
"WrestleMania, eh? What a show, what an incredible night!"
There was another pop from the crowd which quickly hushed, as they waited to see what Nuke had to say tonight.
"Now, I could go through every single match, I could point out how every single superstar put it all out on the line. But there's just two particular matches that I want to talk about with you guys tonight.
I guess let's start with the obvious, the match between Avari Fusion and Marcus Damone."
It looked like even Nuke wasn't expecting the almost raucous applause that came his way for that shout out, with Avari and Marcus having put on a surprise match that quickly became the bout of the night.
"Now it would be easy to say that, oh of course, Nuke's son went out there and now he wants to talk about it. But no one out here, in the back, on the dirt sheets - not a single person can say that these two men didn't just stamp their own legacy firmly on to the WWFG landscape forever.
WrestleMania happens but once a year, and on that night you usually expect something like .. you know .. the headline match to take the headlines.
Now now, that's not to say that the headline match wasn't it's own spectacle. We watched 'The Dragon' go up against Dean Johnson, hot on his own winstreak, and the Champion came out on top."
There was a big cheer for Drako, a clear fan favourite for what would seem like now and always.
"There's just something about watching a Champion go out there, put their body on the line, and come out still reigning. It begins to cement their legacy, it writes their name in the history books, and it puts their name on the lips of anyone who watches this fine sport.
Now, I'd like to present an invitation for the reigning WWFG World Heavyweight Champion to join me out there, and soak in these celebrations!"

Ain't About the Money begins to play as the lights dim down. As the beat kicks in, blue and white lights begin to flash while a thin layer of smoke comes across the stage and down the ramp. Flames spring up along the set, a new addition.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the WWFG World Heavyweight champion, Drako!!!!"
An opening appears in the stage, and slowly the champion rises up on a platform, dressed in black with a hood covering his head. Black pants covered by a black hooded, sleeveless trenchcoat, and with matching gloves but shirtless underneath as always. The World championship belt is clutched in hand as looks down to the ring for a few moments before he finally begins to walk down the ramp, throwing the championship over his shoulder.
Drako stops at the end of the extremely long ramp and looks around the arena for a few more moments before he turns and walks up the stairs and into the ring, taking the championship back in hand as he does. He walks across the ring and steps onto the bottom rope, one foot on the second rope as he raises the title to the cheering fans. He steps down and walks to the opposite side to do the same.
Finally the music dies out and the champ takes up a mic as he looks at the man who had invited him out, Nuke Fusion.
"So, I already had some time booked on the show to come out here and talk about the main event of Wrestlemania. Looks like you just cut that time out and made Cartwright's job a little harder. Kudos for that. I haven't actually inconvenienced him in months. You coming for my job now?"
The champion chuckles.
"But in all fairness, we could go around and around about Wrestlemania. All these returns, yourself included. The debut of your son here in WWFG against my nephew in a match that had no right to be as good as it was. We could talk about some others coming back that frankly I don't care about. We could even talk about my second Wrestlemania main event with a similar and more desirable outcome for me. And if I was out here on my originally scheduled time, I'd wax poetic about all of that. But see, I know Nuke Fusion. You have a history with not just my brothers and sister, but me. So I know that's not the real reason you brought me out here. So why don't we get to the point where we reveal some truth?"

Nuke stopped and listened with a genuine smile on his face, nodding and agreeing with pretty much everything that Drako had to say along the way. The crowd were cheering along, two current fan favourites in the ring at once, what more could they want?
He raised the microphone to his lips again, a broader smile on his face by the time that Drako had finished speaking.
"You really have a way with words, my friend. Perhaps in the past I couldn't have called you that, we had our differences and our run-ins back in the past. Then again, going back to the past, there was a certain moniker that was bestowed upon me. What was that again? Oh, of course.
Uncrowned.
The Uncrowned Champion."
He paused to allow a small cheer and pop from the crowd, a throwback to a nickname for a long time ago.
"You see, there was a reason that I was called that a while ago. Although I won Championships, became the first Grand Slam Champion right here in this company.. I didn't particularly get as many opportunities as I should have.
I came to be known as the Uncrowned Champion. Whilst I didn't hold the gold, everyone knew just who the real Champ was.
Now, I'll be respectful and just reassure that you I'm not calling myself that right now. But that's because there's something else I'd like to call myself."
Lowering the microphone a little, he then nods towards the title belt that Drako was holding on to.
"Your run as Champ here has been great, but can I just paint you a little picture for a moment?
Drako, the almighty Dragon, Champion of WWFG and the current people's favourite.
Nuke, the returning God, Hall of Famer of WWFG and a man with a legacy he'd like to continue.
A match that would sell out instantly, it would rake in millions for the company, and would set the world of sports entertainment ablaze. One prize, bigger than any in the scene right now, a piece of gold that only the very best of the best have held."
The crowd let out a massive cheer at the prospect of what Nuke was mentioning, and he let them get their moment in.
"I'm not saying right here, right now. What I'm suggesting is that once you've had your fun with that gold right there, you give yourself a real challenge."

Drako mulls over the clear yet veiled challenge presented before him for a few moments before raising the mic to respond.
"So you propose, that somewhere at some point at some time, a matchup of the Soaring Dragon vs the Nuclear God. The Harbinger of Destruction vs the Uncrowned champion? You got a valid point that that's a match that sells out an arena, not to blow my own horn here. And we got at least a decade of history here. Maybe there's some points to prove, some bitterness held onto. Like me holding a title you created here, as I recall, the Deific championship. Only real fans remember that one. Maybe an issue with me bringing the OG Dragon back for your epic Wrestlemania rematch the year after you'd beaten him for the Undisputed title. Maybe an issue with you kicking my sister in the head unprovoked all the way back in XCW just to get my brother's attention."
there's a rumbling in the crowd, clearly some die hard long term fans are in attendance.
"Now you mention challenges. Well, I been getting challenged all around here. Just getting to the title was a challenge because I had to contend with the boss and his hoard of security just to get to it. Then I beat a fellow legend in GBL despite the boss's best intentions just to win it. Turned back a guy named after livestock, and a girl from a family that has the sole beef with mine of their brother beat my brother twice when he was a rookie and somehow that makes him hate my brother. Then a rookie who likes to get real technical, that likes to wrestle. Oh, along with his manager who's still bitter i kicked his a** like 10 years ago. But I'm the champ, and challenges don't come to an end while you hold the top prize in our industry. So I say all that to say this, if it were up to me, I'd tell you anytime, anyplace. Since right now my card is wide open. But give it 30 seconds after I stop talking for someone working for the boss, since I doubt he's gotten up off a stretcher yet, to come out and tell me that I don't make the matches, or remind us of a return of a well known tournament, the King of the Canvas where the winner gets a shot at my title."

Cigaro by System Of A Down hits the arena, causing the fans to boo as Cartwright makes his grand entrance. He is wearing a fancy suit which shows how important he is. The Boss is covered in plasters over the visible areas of his skin, since he was last seen being dropped on his head through a sheet of glass at Wrestlemania.
♫My c**k is much bigger than yours, My c**k can walk right through the door With a feeling so pure.. It's got you screaming back for more.
Cool, in denial We're the cruel regulators smoking CIGARO CIGARO CIGAR Cool, in denial We're the cruel regulators smoking CIGARO CIGARO CIGAR♫
Cartwright stands at the arena entrance, where he barks at a stage hand to give him a microphone.
It looks like he is ready to lay down the law.
Cartwright: "Oh look everybody, it's Nuke Fusion! Let's give him another round of applause!"
The crowd cheers for Nuke despite Cartwright's sarcastic tone of voice.
Cartwright: "You know what I don't like about you Nuke?! I don't like that you get to just walk back in to the spotlight here in WWFG, after being away for all these years and these fans love you! You have got to coast on a career that ended so long ago! I have been here every single day, keeping this business alive....and what thanks do I get?!"
Crowd: "YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!"
Cartwright shakes his head angrily.
Cartwright: "No I don't! You will remember this Nuke! There was a time when there were Three Great Englishmen around here! But what happened?! You went home to be a family man when this business got too much for you and the other one DIED! I am the LAST Great Englishman in wrestling and that's a fact!"
The crowd violently boos Cartwright at the veiled mocking of Saint Joey.
Cartwright: "Now as far as your match idea goes, I agree that it would be a big money match and I like money! But there is a ranking system, a new King Of The Canvas tournament which your son Avari is participating in has begun, you know how it goes! I personally would love to see you and Drako beat the snot out of each other! If you want that match sooner rather than later, I would suggest that Nuke either works his way up the rankings for a championship match OR.... ...maybe Drako would be willing to give you a none title match, since you both are prepared to do it?!"
Cartwright looks towards Drako, let's see if he will put his money where his mouth is.

Drako's prediction was accurate as the boss is out, and walking.
"Oh Cartwright, if nothing else you are as dependable as you are an a*****e. You managed to come out here and within two minutes piss off an entire arena. All after getting your a** handed to you at Wrestlemania. Honestly it's almost impressive that you can suck so bad as both a wrestler and a human being. It's like an art for you."
The champion shifts the title belt on his shoulder.
"Now, since you did exactly what I knew you'd do and reminded everyone of the King of the Canvas tournament while also denying my old friend here a shot at the title, let me go ahead and answer what you call a challenge. If Nuke wants to go in a non title match here, well, clearly I'm dressed to compete so I say make the match."

Nuke looks at Drako's attire, then back to his own for a moment a chuckles.
"Drako, I'll gladly take that challenge. But I might need to go and get in my ring gear for tonight.
Plus, I feel like this match is more of a .. main event sort of vibe. What do you think, Cartwright?"

Cartwright looks annoyed as Drako just has to get his digs in.
Cartwright: "It does sound like a fantastic Main Event, Nuke! But do you two really want to have a match here tonight?! Have you seen the disgusting mouth-breathers that are watching us right now?!"
The crowd loudly boos midway through Cartwright's last sentence.
Crowd: "a** HOLE! a** HOLE! a** HOLE!"
Now Cartwright begins to smile as he gets an interesting thought.
Cartwright: "A none title victory over the champion would surely give you a good boost up the rankings Nuke! Not that I would want to suggest anything that could harm any friendships that Drako has! But if you feel so strongly about no longer being Uncrowned, may I suggest that you do whatever it takes to leave Drako defeated?!"
Drako is still a marked man when it comes to The Boss!

Nuke nods in agreement as he turns to look at Drako. He drops his microphone and says to him face to face,
"I'll see you in the ring tonight.. Champ""
Walking to the ropes, Fusion drops down and rolls under the bottom rope as he starts making his way to the back to get ready. As he reaches the stage where Cartwright is, he eyes him up and down before chuckling to himself and heading to the locker rooms.
