When it came to being an Eternal Dark Mirror senshi, one always had to decide what they could do with the amount of certain leadership status that they had obtained could be used for. Well leadership in the sense that they could choose to help those of lower levels. That was what Lacerta was trying to do but she wasn't having much success yet. In order to help a lower level dark mirror senshi one had to be located. She had a feeling that Tegmine wouldn't need her help and there were more that she could feasibly track down ... but Lacerta was looking for those senshi that shared a connection to her, even if they didn't know it yet. That connection was Acubens so it was on this night that she stood outside of a local pharmacy peering in through the windows at those that still worked the evening shift and spotted the young man that she was looking for. Knowing that he was indeed working tonight made things a lot easier and with some form of hesitation did Lacerta ponder her next move. She could wait around near the entrance as she was or drop her powered guise in order to grab Larkin's attention that way.
What would be easier?
Figuring if she were going to linger around as her powered self that somehow she should try to find a way to contact this unknown senshi had Lacerta pulling out her compact and shooting off a message to this Avignon and just hope that he had enough sense to realize that she was trying to contact him.
If that failed, well, she could always swoop down and grab him as soon as it seemed his shift was over in order to have a chat. All she knew was what Rhona had passed along to her. Senshi name. Civilian name and place of his employment.

Work was, as usual, difficult to say the least. He was getting out a bit earlier than was usual for him, as he typically closed at nine, tonight he was out at eight because he was at fourty hours and they weren't about to ask for overtime for him. To be fair he wouldn't have wanted to take overtime at his own store anyway, he wasn't much for sticking around more than he had to, he rather liked escaping the place as soon as he could and not a moment later.
The customer he'd just finished ringing up had been rather nasty, one of their medications wasn't filled and so he'd gotten shouted at, the man was headed off to the drop off window to find out what was going on all the while grumbling and complaining about this company and the store as well as the clueless workers. Rolling his eyes he called over to production, hoping someone would actually pay him enough attention to hear what he was saying, and informed them he was off and clocking out. Someone else needed to take over and there was a line, he wasn't about to stay and help clear the line. Clocking out before the next customer could reach his register he hurried to grab his things from the back counter, by the sink, and hurried his a** out from the pharmacy and through the store to the front doors. One bag check later and he was headed outside.
He'd felt off while ringing the guy, perhaps that was why the shouting didn't bother him so much? He'd gotten distracted by some odd feeling that he couldn't pin down and figure out, he was still pondering it on his way out of the store. A tilt of his head had him looking up at the night sky, while enjoying the cool breeze, it was a nice night and he was finally free. Eight hours of work and he'd spent nearly all of it at the register, he really wished he could throw the register out a window or at something - anything. He'd grown to hate the retail aspect oof this job, and would never work retail again in his life, he had grown to hate it because it felt like a weight he was tied down by.
"s**t...finally out." Finally was right, he'd been wanting out since four hours ago.

There was no response to the message. At least after waiting at least ten minutes there had been no indication that Avignon had even registered that she had sent him a message. Frowning now Lacerta reviewed her options open to her. Well if Avignon wasn't receiving her message should she just go ahead with her other idea. Tsk'ing her irrational idea of swooping down and grabbing a senshi while in their civilian form: it just wouldn't do. Instead of grabbing Larkin and carting him around to god-knows-where instead she'd go for the more obvious approach.
Knowing and doing were two different things it seemed. Lacerta glanced towards the door as yet another individual exited out and she narrowed her gaze before sighing. Opening her compact once again Lacerta tried sending off another message to Avignon while she kept her eye on the young man that was now walking away from the pharmacy. He carried no purchases which wasn't unusual in this day in age but he seemed burdened down with something. Was this Larkin?
Figuring it wasn't too dangerous to follow the young man at a distance did Lacerta keep hoping that this Avignon would reply to her communiques.

Pulling out his cell phone he gave it the usual check for messages, to see if any of his siblings or his parents had texted him whilst he'd been working. He did check at work, from time to time, but he tneded to get scolded for it even when there was no one on line and he was being told to remain at the register or put scripts away - but don't leave that area. That was when he'd check his phone, for lack of anything else to do, and would often be scolded. It used to annoy, and even sadden him, that other co-workers could be at production and on their phone which could serve as a distraction when filling scripts. But now it just amused him to see how utterly hypocritical his co-workers were.
"No messages." He whispered to himself. Now, did he go to the gym or go home? He could also pick up food before going home...which did sound like a good idea after a long day at work. Maybe he could hit the gym tomorrow in the early morning hours, the place was 24 hours. "Hmmmm..." Making his way to his car, parked in the far corner of the parking lot, and unlocked the car.
Leaning in he stuck his wallet, and phone, into the middle section of the console where drinks typically went, before moving to climb in also.

Well it seemed as if luck wasn't on her side in regards to this Larkin even knowing that he had messages waiting from a fellow dark mirror senshi. Trailing after the young man had Lacerta wondering just what it was that she was supposed to do now. In this day and age would it be an extremely poor showing on her part if she were to just swoop down and pluck him away from his car for a little chat? It just didn't seem like the best way to introduce herself to him. But when she glanced down to check on the progress that Larkin had made she sighed. Already he was in the process of climbing into his car and Lacerta grimaced at the theatrics she was about to employ,
Jumping off the rooftop that she had been situated on the eternal dark mirror hoped that she wouldn't give the poor guy a heart attack as she cut the distance between herself and the car that he was now sitting in and preparing to close the door with alarming speed. Stopping the door's progress from closing Lacerta watched for any reaction that yielded any sort of hysteria from Larkin before letting go of the door and backing away. "Not that it's any of my business to stop you from leaving, but I was wondering perhaps if I could steal a minute of your time for a chat?"
Would he even recognize her for what she was: a member of the same faction of powered individuals that he belonged to. The idea was to not drive the young man off if she could help it but Acubens had wanted an update on this basic senshi and who was she to deny the request.

He'd been pulling his door closed when it was grabbed, something he hadn't been expecting. Refraining from yanking the door closed, and hurting someone, Larkin took the time to look at who was standing there and froze for a second. That was...tha toutfit. It wasn't the same but neither was the other persons..it was familiar in the way that it was similar to hers and to his own. He hadn't worn that uniform much at all, a handful of times, but he knew there were similarities few as they were.
"Dark mirror?" He asked after a moment or two, time enough to figure out what to say and to realize what was standing there watching him.
"Umm...yeah. There aren't any cameras in the parking lot...so yeah. We can talk." Though maybe in the car and not out in the open? So he did motion her into his car, to the passanger side, just for safety. There were still customers coming and going and he didn't need anything starting in the parking lot because of some customer.
"Everything is alright...right?"

"Yes. Dark Mirror. That is correct," was the reply given in turn to Larkin's query about who she was. Or was it what she was? Instead of wasting time thinking about thoughts that needn't be thought about did Lacerta instead bring her attention back to the matter at hand in time to catch Larkin's comment about being able to talk.
Moving around the vehicle to the seat that was indicated Lacerta very gently opened the passenger side door and slipped into the passenger seat. Strangely enough it felt out of place to be powered up in someone's vehicle given the way that most dark mirror senshi travelled by. Inwardly there was a sense that perhaps she had gone about this the wrong method. But what was done was done.
Taking a moment to situate herself more comfortably did Lacerta catch the question that had been directed to her before nodding. Her gaze lingered on the outside parking lot before she turned her attention to the young man. "Everything is alright yes. I was just asked to check in on some fellow cour members to see if they were alright. I believe you know Acubens. She just wanted me to touch base and see how things were going. That's all."

"Yeah, I know her." Seated in the car, his door pulled shut, he turned the heat on low as he got comfortable. He knew this might be odd, and maybe even akward, but he didn't mind so much. "She brought me in....but I've not been active really...I just - I don't know anmyone really.." And to be honest he wasn't the most social of people and after work sometimes he just wanted to hide somewhere, to avoid people. It took a lot out of him, emotionally and otherwise, and it made the whole idea of powering up and being alone hard to handle.
He wasn't social but he didn't like being alone either, not entierly anyway. But did he want to explain that, could he make it make sense?
"It's hard." He finished rather lamely, not sure how to word himself properly. "Work is...it's work." That was the best way to put it - the easiest. It was more than work, it was a lot more for him, but he didn't say anything. Acubens had seen him at his job and had seen how it had been that day.
Maybe, he hoped, he didn't need to try and explain thigns and ratgher she'd somehow understand what he was trying to say.

For a moment Lacerta merely sat in silence as she digested the responses that Larkin gave to her. There didn't seem to be much that she could do in response to his issues at work, although, and she suppressed the urge to ask, if draining his coworkers would be helpful. It sounded like Larkin had it rough a bit. Was there something else that she could do in order to make it easier for the young man to resume powering up?
"I think I understand. After a day of stress upon stress I'd not want to go around and possibly pile up more stress on top of everything," here Lacerta paused before tapping the side of the door thoughtfully, if not absently. Was there a simple solution that she could offer? Could she act as a mentor to Avignon if he gave her the chance?
"I'm not one hundred percent sure on this idea, but if you had a patrol partner, do you think you'd be willing to try to be active again?"
For a moment she let the offer sink in before adding, "I won't hold it against you if you say no. But I feel like I could help you if you wanted it."

"I'd consider it, at least I wouldn't be out on my own." Or with the same single person every time, which would get boring and likely would begin to feel akward with time. He also, at the moment, figured it might be good if two people were together rather than just himself,....he didn't care for beign a sitting duck, he didn't need to have someone try and fight him. He was already not inthe mood for much when he left work, at least most of the time, if someone tried to pick a fight with him...yeah, no.
"I'd do that." He said, confirming what he'd already said, as he noeeded his head.
"Maybe I could even talk to someone outside of my own family." About work of course because than there was someone else with another perspective perhaps, he assumed so anyway, who could maybe offer him somehing or at least let him vent on rough days. "We can try it...yeah." He really didn't talk to people outside of his family, he'd tried to make friends with his coworkers but it failed, not his fault, and he hadn't had too many friends in high school. The friends he'd had in high school had all moved away, wanting to escape the madness of this city and go elsewhere for college and university, he didn't blame them.
"So what next?" He asked, looking over to the other, as if they'd go do something now.

At least Larkin was willing to consider her proposal. If she could work with him, and have others work with him, maybe he'd lose his reluctance to power up more frequently. Perhaps she could see more of the Dark Mirror court actually follow through. Giving the interior of the car a idle look did Lacerta allow herself a moment to stretch in the seat before hearing Larkin's query about what might be next.
This was something that the eternal hadn't really thought about. There had been doubt in her mind that the young man before her wouldn't want to return to senshi-dom so soon. Absently scratching at the side of her nose the young woman regarded things that had been spoken of before inspiration struck her. If Larkin really was amenable to the idea she'd put forth then surely he'd not mind more of her company. Even as she thought that though, Lacerta backed away. There would be time for that later she hoped. She cleared her throat before speaking, "if you wanted to tonight I'd help you with a simple patrol but I feel that would be rushing things. I would like to give you the chance to think things over. We could meet around here, say in two nights time, for a small patrol. I won't hold it against you if you change your mind and decide not to come along. Does that sound okay?"
She hoped it did. A reasonable request with no strings really attached would allow Larkin the time in which to make a decision on things and she really wouldn't be put out if the young man chose to not attend.
"For now though, I feel that in order to not put any more undue stress on your shoulders that I should probably leave you be," her hand was now on the interior handle that would open the door, "I don't think you need the added questions if someone where to see you with someone like me."
She paused before adding, "Also, I've just realized that I've not given you my name," and it was true, she hadn't. "I'm Lacerta, eternal dark mirror senshi of bandages."

"Two nights time..." Thinking as he spoke he nodded his head slowly. "I have a short work shift, four to nine, so if you drop byy as a civilian at around nine at night we can take my car somewhere else and park before powering up." He was interested in the idea, it might give him something to do with his time and a good way to spend his time after work. The gym might be a good way to spend his time but it couldn't be the only thing, nor could going home to do various things. He also sort of, maybe, wanted to have some friends. It had been what he'd wanted with his co-workers but had been denied for whatever reason, they just didn't like him from the start.
"I was thinking of heading to the gym tonight...I might head home instead tonight." Especially since he might have a bit of a workout in two nights time, though it certainly wouldn't be like what he got at the gym, he sort of liked the idea.
Shifting around in the car, as he got an idea, he maneged to find a pen and some paper that he kept in the console between both front seats. Writing down his cell phone number he scratched his name above it, his hand writting looked a bit like chicken scratch, and handed it over to her. "You can text me, it's easier than a phone call, to let me know things. I think, if I could meet others and not go out alone, I'd be ok with this. I don't want to mess up or be alone and get hurt." Or anything else like that. As much as he wasn't good with people, and socializing, he wanted to be...because he didn't like being left to his own thoughts all the time either. He wanted to at least have a few people like him, it didn't need to be many, but he was human and needed some people in his life.
tefla Let's let him have rambling thoughts and worry...cause why not. ^_^

Lacerta took the offered piece of paper from Larkin before pulling out a pen from her subspace pocket and hastily scribbled the hours that Larkin had mentioned that he'd be working on the night that they agreed to go out for a patrol together. This would be one reminder, probably not needed, but would be handy to have just in case she forgot. For a moment Lacerta pondered if anything else needed to be shared in between them but as she reflected one other little tidbit came up that would probably need to be addressed.
"I look forward to patrolling with you in a few nights from now," Lacerta ripped off an unused section of paper from what had been handed to her and wrote her own name/number on it before passing it back to Larkin, "if plans change, just call and let me know, alright?"
Lacerta hoped that plans wouldn't fall through as she sincerely wanted to help Avignon back into a routine that would be easy to keep. She just hoped in doing so that she'd be a better role model for those below her in the court. There was something fulfilling at being able to have this newer rank in the court but it came with responsibilities that she wanted to aspire by. Acubens had helped more than she knew in that regard and she wanted to do right by her mentor.
Sleet Tempest Snape So on Larkin's piece of paper would be her civilian name of Arianna Lee and her phone number. - and she's choosing to call herself an extended member of Rhona's family. ... also ... fin?
