"I forgot how much it rains here." Elka put her hands on the windowsill, leaning her head out of the window to glance at the sky from under the awning. "My childhood memories lied to me." Not once could she remember the rain back during those vacations here. Just the heat, the sun, and the warm sea when she went swimming, which she did as often as she could.

A drop landed on her nose, having fallen off the awning. Wiping at her nose with one hand, she leaned back into the house, turning around to face the Leaf still sitting on the couch. "At least it only rains a little bit and not all day." Leaving most of the day to that beautiful sun she enjoyed the most. Once you let the sand dry, anyway. Or spend a hour in the water, where it wouldn't matter how wet the beach was when you got out and spread out a blanket to air-dry on.

Warmth filled Elka's body at the kiss, melting a little in his arms. The honeymoon phase had never left. Which was good, since this was technically their real honeymoon. Last week they had went into town and applied for a marriage license. Why bother with a whole ceremony when they had no friends or family to invite? There was only her brother and one person wasn't enough to make a lot of fuss over even a party. She found quickly she didn't really mind. When she was a little girl, she'd often dream of a big wedding, planning it out on paper. It was a sure sign of how much she had matured in the time since. She was becoming much less of a spoiled brat every year. She didn't even care about fancy dresses or accessories anymore. Their new, quieter life suited her so much better. As did the lighter Matori clothes she had adopted.

"No. I love it here, rain and all." Scrunching up her nose, the Ice giggled, rubbing the fingers of one hand against his cheek. "I am not, however, sure about this fuzz on your face. This is new."

Instinctively, Elka moved her head back away from him, laughing at his silliness. She broke away from him, darting around his body gracefully and twirling in a circle once, so that her long skirt flared out around her.

"I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you grew a beard," she answered, trying to imagine it in her head. Yes. That might look very good indeed on his face. Looking at him, she was really noticing how more grown-up he was looking, his face no longer quite as youthful looking as it was when they'd met almost seven years ago.

Suddenly, her face took on a more serious, thoughtful expression as another image came to her head.

"You know, Kayde, I was wondering about something recently. About the next step in our relationship."

Another laugh escaped Elka's lips. Kayde could be so oblivious sometimes for someone who spent so many years traveling around. He always had a handsome face, the kind that she had seen girls stop and stare at. How had he gone through life not understanding the details of relationships? How had he never even kissed a girl before her? She'd kissed guys before him.

"Kayde," she cooed, holding one hand over her throat, feeling her pulse quicken as she edged slowly closer to the point. "Sometimes you're rather dumb and it's adorable."

"Clearly too slyly," was the Ice's response, pulling the loose hair back from her face and over one shoulder where she stood stroking it for a moment. Outside, the rain started to slow down, the drops on the roof not as loud as they were before. She'd be able to go for a swim soon. Maybe would need it after she said what she wanted to say. Was this how he had felt when he'd been trying to work up the nerve to give her the ring that now sat forever on her finger? She thought her heart was going to pound its way up her throat and out of her body. How did he not hear it, even from his distance?

Taking a deep breath, getting serious now, Elka looked Kayde straight in the eyes. "There are other names we could use. Like parents. Father." There was no way he wouldn't understand what she was trying to say now.

Elka watched the smile vanished from his face with a growing sense of worry. Clearly he was understanding what she was saying. Did this mean he was opposed to the idea of them having children? it was something they'd talked about before. Not often, but they'd both agreed that they did want to be parents one day. They just never had talked about when to actually try for it. Hadn't done anything besides kiss since their wedding night.

Than he suddenly doubled over into a coughing fit and she rushed forward, yelling his name, fear thick in it. Was he that surprised by it? It wasn't as if they'd been doing anything to stop it from happening. It naturally would happen.

She patted and rubbed his back until he calmed down and looked at her. She held her breath. But that worry quickly disappeared with his question, to be replaced with laughter. He thought it was happening now! It'd only been a week. Even if she'd conceived on the first night, she'd never know for another two months. Maybe sooner, if she was unlucky in sickness.

"No! It takes a lot longer than a week." Placing her hands on her own knees, she bent down to be eye level with him. "I just....Really want to have kids with you, Kayde. I love you. And it's not like we've been preventing it. We may as well officially say we're trying, right? Does that sound bad?"

Giving him one more pat on the back, the Ice woman straightened herself back up, her long hair flipping over her shoulders. Once more, she pulled it behind her head and draped it over one shoulder, fiddling with it and smoothing it out as if she expected to straightened her curls.

"I didn't think we were that stupid," she protested, looking at the ends of her hair before glancing back up at him. "It's been...Really fun. You know, doing more than, uh..." A blush blossomed on her cheeks and she dropped her hair, turning her back on him with her hands on her hot face. Nope, far too early to be saying that out loud. Maybe it was also too early to be planning kids, too. "I'm sorry, Kayde. I'm sure there is something I can find in town."
