Saoirse 1 She was in Yael, it felt...strange, like her skin was itchy but not. Hmm, intriguing. She found it a hard sensation to describe properly. This place was unhappy in a way. A miasma. She had heard of it but had not thought it would be this unsettling. The Yaeli were a hardy people. And she was here because they had one of the rarest metals around laventanium. She wanted to specialize in fancy weaponry when she bacame a blacksmith so she was here to stock up on cool stuff. And..maybe..some clothes, before she left.
She was still a girl and well she never bought clothes, and this was one of her few travels from Aisha so why not do a little clothing shopping.

Akeldama had gotten used to doing business with the local Yaeli and they had gotten used to her presence. She made sure her spear tip was always covered to lessen the threat it posed when she came into the city. This time she wasn't there to trade a beast, no, this time she brought with her a basket of herbs that the Yaeli wouldn't be able to gain without getting too close to her own village. And beside them were a few bottles of ink she'd made out of others. A trick she'd learned from an earthling. She walked through the streets, knowing full well where she was headed, but kept her pace leisurely so she didn't scare anyone. Akel knew the Yaeli could be jumpy and she wasn't in the mood for any of their suspicions today.

Saoirse was just coming out of a tea shop with a largish box hugged lovingly against her chest. She did so love her tea and her tea time and now she had a new tea set and couldn't quite get over how happy she was. "This is just the best day." All the worries of home had melted away and she could just be herself and experience travel the way it was meant to be enjoyed; to each individual's taste. She would bring this back to where she was staying before shopping more. Popping out of the door of the shop she nearly bonked into someone tall like her. "Oh I'm sorry!"

She was content to keep walking and minding her business when she was suddenly ran into. With it being another tall body like her own she was forced to side step a time or two but when she stopped she was able to look at the offender. Akeldama was surprised to see the hybrid. Very clearly she could tell the difference in traits. Usually she didn't have a bright outlook on hybrids. Not really. She either barely tolerated them or outright disliked them. But a certain bit of curiosity entered her mind over this one. "Which Mother Tree are you from?" No pleasantries or any such thing. She had questions and wanted answers.

“Aisha,” she said automatically. She was a bit used to the question. She eyed the other woman, her abrupt manner made Saoirse respond in kind. If she was itching for a fight Saoirse would give it, though the other lady looked older so she would probably get her butt kicked but that was okay. The important part was to put up a fight. That way she might not have fights picked again once the whole kerfuffle was over.

So this hybrid came from Aisha. Well she supposed that made sense. Akel would have heard of a bloom that held such a mix if it came from Elzira. She was sure of that now that she gave it more thought. "I see." She gave the girl another once over, taking in the details. "It is always strange to see Elarian features in a hybrid." It was not something she'd gotten used to, even after the years that her Mother Tree had taken it upon herself to start producing them. "Who is your Elarian mother?" Perhaps it was someone she knew? Or at the very least had heard of? The girl in front of her could be no older than her own daughters so it was possible. Then again there was a period of time when Akel had stopped paying attention to her fellow sisters to focus more on her studies, so it was equally as possible that there were some she didn't know of at all.

"Akane is my Elarian Mother. Uzandi is my Alkidike Mother. Her parents kept pretty close to home and didn't usually move too far from their home unless they were sent on patrol. Saoirse looked the sister over as well and waited to see what further reaction if any there would be. Sometimes there wasn't but sometimes she saw the looks the occassional sneer. Daughters whose Mama's forgot that lesson she expected. She was used to it by now but it always drew her hackles up.

"Hmn. I am not familiar with that name." So that meant it was one that she hadn't ever taken an interest in learning about. Likely her eye was never caught by their skill or she was busy looking elsewhere. Akel continued to look the girl over before clicking her tongue. "Interesting features. At least you are full Aishan though." She'd come across other hybrids that were mixed with earthling recently. Though one did stand out to her and she hadn't shown him any contempt. If anything she was amused by him.

"Thanks, I think." She blinked, wanting to be anywhere but here under this woman's gaze. She sighed. Sadly she had been taught to be polite, so there she stood unsure of what to do how to proceed, or if she should talk or not. Woe betide herself man. All she wanted was a quiet day and she would have to run the Aishan gauntlet again. This is why she had muscles, to discourage messing with her, but this was a woman approaching elderhood and she just couldn't break the tradition though she swore it stole a bit of her soul to do it. "What brings you here?"

Her mind drifted to thoughts of hybrids and if she could think of any other of her sisters that had taken an outsider as their partner. In truth Akel really couldn't. She didn't pay enough attention to them. Then again, she was softer on Aishan's due to her nieces being from a different tree. When she heard the girl ask a question she blinked and seemed to remember she was still speaking with her. Oops. "Shopping. Some supplies are easier gained here." While she could hunt for her own things or even make them it took time and Akel was getting to the point in life where she was impatient. One would think she'd have been that way in her youth but back then she had more to prove. "Earthlings do have some good points." She often sold, bought, or traded things with them.

"Yes, they do." She remembered one boy in particular who had been kind and she had been kind to him in return.
So she was here for supplies that made sense. "I need supplies as well." She said mildly hesitantly. The woman had been a bit sharp initially but didn't seem too angry now. Sao was sensitive to emotions. She was going to be a smith not a warrior, though she would have made a fine one.
She nodded her head politely wondering if she would get excused or not. Usually she liked talking to other Aishans.

She thought about it for a moment before she decided her curiosity would win out. "What kid of supplies?" If it was food for travels then she might be able to point the girl in the right direction. After all, she obviously wasn't from around here. "I might be able to help point you in the right direction." It was the best she could do as far as being nice. She was still learning how to interact with outsiders, her family members didn't count.

"Some of their specific spices, fruit and some staples while I'm near a market, like flour and such. Its extra fine here and quite popular in my family for dumplings and such." She shrugged. "Thank you." It was nice of the woman to offer to help her. Maybe she wasn't so bad after all and it had been a mistake on Sao's part?

As she listened she nodded her head and mentally marked where those could be found. "Fairly easy things to locate." At least it wasn't something that Akel would have to admit to not knowing where to locate. Or worse.. ask for directions on. "Spices are over there.." She pointed down one way. "Fruits are to the west." Again her hand moved to point in the direction. "And the rest.." She paused to look at where they were before pointing at another stall. "Right over there."

"Thank you very much." She was happy that she didnt have to wander all over the place to get the stuff she needed. She liked to shop with a list and get stuff done and only after that would she allow herself to putter around and look at things.
There was a lot to look at in Yael. She snagged a cart meant for shoppers and placed her tea set on it.
"You are welcome to join me while I shop, but I have to get moving or nothing will get done today."
