The Chaos was gone. The man he’d just been fighting with was gone.
It wasn’t much of a relief; the empty space he’d left might have freed Vilenius’ hair, but it did nothing to sate his anger, or confusion, or curiosity.
Logically, he should have taken some time to figure out where he was, to look around and piece things together. He should have tried to find something to eat.
He wasn’t feeling very logical.
The sick, oppressive energy signature might have been gone, but he felt something else–something powerful, just on the horizon. Moving closer.
He had a headache already; this was too much at once and his body wasn’t used to the changes.
But, Vilenius wasn’t the sort to give up or back down from anything.
It didn’t matter if he felt sick and shaky and overwhelmed, it only made him more agitated. He began to gather up his hair so he wouldn’t trip on it. The knots from the man before were the least of his concerns, they were just something to deal with later.
For now, he was more concerned with what was getting so close to him.
He rose to his full height and planted his feet evenly on the ground as he brushed his hair behind him so it wouldn’t get in the way. This time.

Qingcheng had seen the tail end of it, and he had a horrible feeling of utter dread pooling in his stomach.
There had been a General with long brown hair fighting with this poor…lower staged…someone and…
And he was sure that the General had been Laojun. Or. Yu…or.
Oh god. Of all the things he had considered, the male being taken back to Chaos hadn’t even registered on the list of possible outcomes but now? Now he knew that that must have been what happened…and he had to tell Priam…but.
“Excuse me? Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” There was something more important than this gut wrenching realization, and the Knight moved more swiftly to aid the one who had been obviously terrorized. For a moment, Qingcheng blinked, looking the male over, and…boy, his hair was long...and he seemed…to be almost…blue?
He was blue.
Blue?
Did Qingcheng need his glasses changed? Maybe…but.
“Are…um. Are you all right? My name is Qingcheng, Knight of Cosmos…you have blood on your face, did he hurt you?” The question was asked again, and there was nothing but despair in the word. The idea of Laojun…of…of Parisite...of…
Oh god. Yu.

The words made sense. Vilenius understood them.
It didn’t mean that he was well-prepared to answer them, though.
He regarded the Cosmos Knight with something like familiarity. He didn’t feel as uncomfortable as the last person he’d seen, and he at least knew of Cosmos. Not that he could say they were necessarily trustworthy, but this guy seemed concerned.
Vilenius was still on edge, so he took an instinctive step back.
It had been so long since he heard anyone else–anyone real–that he found himself temporarily alarmed and stunned when it came to actually responding.
His mind was racing and he narrowed his eyes at the Knight.
He didn’t trust easily, and now was no exception.
“No,” he answered sharply, but his voice felt wrong. It was raspy and sharp. He didn’t clear his throat, even though it felt like he’d swallowed glass. He raised his sleeve to wipe across his face in a half-hearted effort to clean the blood but his eyes never left the Knight’s face. He didn’t look at his sleeve or move much afterwards.
“Who was he?”

Who was he. Who was he?
How could Qingcheng even begin to explain the answer to the question…he didn’t know. Well, didn’t know who he was now…it…
Drawing in a breath, the Knight forced a smile on his face that looked rather painful. “I…I’m quite sure that it was someone who…had meant a lot to me. He’s been gone for a while now and I hadn’t even thought about Chaos getting him…I just…thought that he didn’t love us any longer which…well I mean it was awful but…but this is worse…we’ve already saved him from the Negaverse once…ah…”
Stop it. This stranger didn’t need to know his life story and…he seemed…to be a very strange stranger besides.
“...Ah…I apologize for the rambling…are you sure that you’re okay? Is there anything I can do for you? You…And I beg your parton for being rude, but you…ah. Look…Pale?”
That was…putting it mildly but. You couldn’t just say someone was…blue…ish…that was far too…
“And your voice sounds tired…I…”
Withdrawing a bottle of water from his subspace pocket, Qingcheng held it out. “I have some water here if you’d like it?”

The Senshi’s eyes narrowed when the Knight expressed familiarity. His story made some sense, but he was talking too quickly and it was difficult to keep up. The knight thought he knew who it was–Chaos–love?–Negaverse. What?
It didn’t seem rude, it just wasn’t what he cared about right now.
He wasn’t thirsty, he’d been around enough water that it was just about the only thing he didn’t need more of.
He accepted the bottle anyway. Briefly, he glanced away from Qingcheng’s face and examined the bottle–clear, but not glass. When he squeezed it, it made an unpleasant crinkling sound. It had a cap, but it didn’t pull off. He shook it and the water sloshed about, but when he couldn’t immediately get it open he lowered it and squinted at the Knight again.
“I don’t know where I am. Or who you are.”
He didn’t ask but it was a question all the same.

“Um. You’re in Destiny City…um…” Qingcheng hesitated and watched as he fought with the water bottle and honestly…he was growing more and more concerned and that was the only reason the next words came out of his mouth.
“On Earth. Do you need help with that…? I’m happy to show you how to open it and uh…” He drew a bag of chips from his subspace pocket too and opened the bag, taking one out and putting it into his own mouth before holding the bag out to the stranger.
“It’s food, and to open the bottle, twist the white part, that’s the uh. The cap. Like I said…I’m Qingcheng, Knight of Cosmos…you…are you not from Earth?”

“No,” the man scowled–he didn’t want help–and hit the top of the water bottle a few times before he looked up again and squinted. “Earth?”
He didn’t reach out for the chips but his eyes snapped to them and he pressed his lips together. His stomach audibly snarled but he didn’t seem alarmed by this. After a second, he pinched the white lid and untwisted it after a brief struggle. He held it to his lips and downed half the bottle in what seemed like a second.
He didn’t take his eyes off of Qingcheng once.
“I am not from here, no.” His mouth felt icy, slow to move, and yet he was quick to push the words out. His eyes went back to the bag and finally his resolve diminished. He took it and poured them into his mouth like he had the water and they were gone in only just a bit more time. He wiped his mouth on the back of his sleeve. “Do you have more?”

Qingcheng stared blankly and nodded slowly, wishing that he could process just what was going on with more speed than he was managing to…process what was going on. “More food? Um. Yes. I do. And um. You’re not from here…do you have somewhere to go? I’d be happy to cook for you if…ah…”
Pausing, Qingcheng pulled another bat of chips from subspace and opened them, holding them out to the senshi with a slow nod.
He took a moment to scribble a note on a small spiral notebook and sent it to Soleiyu, the only person he could think of that might know…something about what was going on. He couldn’t very well take home some…alien…Senshi.
…Especially not one who still had blood on his face.
“Here. I’m. I just sent a note to a Mauvian I know, I’ve…been out of things for a while and he…seems to know everything so…ah. What’s your name? You’re not from here…where are you from?”

Vilenius accepted the second bag with more enthusiasm than the first and these were devoured before he responded.
“Vilenius,” he answered, a simple answer to both questions.
He seemed reluctant to share more information than what was asked.
The words he spoke still felt foreign in his mouth, and there was a bit of delay between Qingcheng’s questions and his answers.
“I don’t know how I got here,” he said after a moment. “I only just arrived.” It wasn’t exactly a to-the point answer, but–no. He didn’t have anywhere to go. Probably. He was still trying to figure all of this out. But, he was hungry, and if this Knight was willing to give him more food–
He wasn’t going to say no. He held the second bag up and poured out the last few crumbs he could get.
Thankfully, Soleiyu was quick to answer, but he always seemed to have some technology close to him.
Quote: Where are you? I’m on my way. Don’t let him get away from you and don’t let him get into trouble. A few have shown up already, but they don’t have phones and don’t know what’s going on. If he’s new on Earth he might have a lot of questions and he’ll need somewhere safe to figure things out.

“Ah…” Qingcheng nodded and gave a slight smile, before nodding again, glancing at the note that Soleiyu sent. “It’s very nice to meet you, Vilenius, my friend is going to be here in a few minutes to help us figure this out, but afterwards I’d be happy to take you back to my place and cook you something good for food so you don’t have to keep eating chips…they’re not very nutritious. Ah…”
Quickly, he scribbled the location onto the paper and sent it back to Soleiyu, before glancing around and nodding at a bench. “Do you want to come and have a seat with me while we wait? And ah…I think I have something that we can use to clean your face too…you have blood all over it and…that must be…getting sticky…”
Gesturing for Vileneius to follow him, Qingcheng sat on the bench and rooted through his subspace pocket, pulling out another bottle of water and after sighing when nothing worthwhile that could be used for cleaning the male’s face could be found, he tore off some of his robes, knowing that it would just come back and doused it in the water, handing the makeshift handkerchief to the Senshi. “Here. Go ahead and get yourself cleaned up, I know that Soleiyu will…be happier that way, he won’t think I’ve been bullying you or anything.”

Vilenius watched suspiciously as Qingcheng tore of a strip of fabric for him to use. He didn’t protest, though he’d followed with caution and tooka seat next to him while they waited for his friend.
It hadn’t occurred to him that there might be blood, and it had been so long since he cared how anyone perceived him that it hadn’t even struck him that he should try to make himself more presentable. He was suddenly a bit more aware of his long, tangled hair. The fault of the man who had tripped over him, of course.
As he sat, he pulled it into his lap and began to comb it out with his fingers.
When the damp fabric was passed to him, he began to mop himself up.
“You don’t seem like you could bully anyone.” It didn’t really sound like a compliment. He deliberately scrubbed, attempting to be effective and quick. He would rather brush his hair than worry about the blood but if more food was on the line he could manage whatever Qingcheng wanted.
“Will this take long? I am very hungry.”
And blunt. He hadn’t had to filter his thoughts or words in a long time, either.

Qingcheng gave a small, only slightly hysterical laugh and shook his head. “It won’t be long at all, and you’ll get lots of food when we get home, I promise. Soleiyu would get here, would explain everything and then…then they could go back to the house and…he could cook, and tell Priam…that they were going to have a house guest for…
Well. Most likely a while but…
That was fine! This was fine. He could do this.
In fact, maybe it would be good all around. Helping this poor guy and…
Filling whatever void was left. Having someone else in the house would be good…
“I’m going to cook you so many good things. I promise.”
