They had come to a type of compromise when it came to their living situation, one of which meant they would go on ‘date night’ once a week barring any outstanding situations. He would spend the majority of his week at his apartment, only coming over after work and for a few hours, but Friday would be date night after work and he would spend the weekend at her place. He gave up near permanent residence on her couch and she gave up, or at least tried to give up, the urge to push him out the window when she saw him all the damn time. Mostly she was just doing her best to let him have as much time with his daughter as she could stand. Dessie knew that he wanted more, he wanted them to be a family… She was not ready for that. So her concession to his desire was the weekend of cohabitation, and a weekly date night. It wasn’t too different then when she was pregnant since he showed up whenever he wanted and more often than not, for the baby’s health, got her to go on walks with him. He was good at that. The lighthearted nagging, hedging her around, until she just went along with his request. It was easier than fighting him on it and a walk was definitely not worth a fight. Nor was a date night.

It didn’t matter that a part of her wanted to go. She wasn’t going to admit that spending time with him was… pleasant. Comforting even. She would never tell him that a date night wasn’t such a concession on her part. Not in a million years.
- - - : - - -

He knew. He knew that as much as she grumbled, as much as she glared, and as much as she harrumphed that she wasn’t as indifferent to him as she appeared. And he was pleased with this revelation, didn’t even try to hide it, as he escorted her from the restaurant. She had tucked her hand into his offered arm, but was consciously ignoring him, which made Nate grin. He knew that had she truly not cared she would never have agreed to dinner. She would have used any and all excuses, including a simple ‘no’ to turn him down, but she didn’t. She was here, with him. Their daughter was ensconced with her family, likely being spoiled as only a newborn could be, with snuggles and ever present pair of arms to sleep in. Meanwhile he did his best to woo her mother.

It was their first date night and he wanted to make it special so dinner at a nice restaurant that he could afford, and then a walk where they could talk and remember the way they were back in school. That easy camaraderie and friendship. The dinner had ended well and now they still had some time before they needed to return to her apartment, just enough time for a walk. He told her about his day, about his current place of employment and the few other freelance jobs he was working on. Nate didn’t exactly chatter but he kept their conversation going as they meandered their way through the park. He felt her become more and more distant, more withdrawn and quiet the deeper into the wintering green space. He just attributed it to her trying to keep up her walls, to keep him at a distance. It made him sad but he still tried to keep her engaged. At least until she yanked her arm from his grip. “Des-” he was cut off as she hissed out a shushing noise.

Something was out there… They weren't alone.

Really, Sodalite had been trying to be quiet. The loud snapping of a branch had the lieutenant glancing sharply down to the ground to the offending object before realizing that the duo that he and an eternal senshi by the name of Fafnir had been stalking for the last quarter of an hour or so had probably just been made aware of their presence. He let off a mild expletive before frowning. What now? The corrupt senshi had been trying to demonstrate how he, Sodalite, could draw off a person's energy if only they were close enough. However the couple that walked arm in arm had been still too far away from the radius he needed in order to at least try the technique.

Was it too late to try and remain hidden by the shadows and use stealth to get what he needed, or was it just time to reveal themselves and just have a straight up ambush? Vanishing his weapon and trying to get the creases out of his uniform did Sodalite hastily try to appear presentable, if not a little non-threatening. Making the most of the situation Sodalite emerged from the forested area that had been concealing his form before stepping in front of the young couple. "Lovely evening, wouldn't you agree," he questioned lightly. Inwardly it was mostly a ruse, try to cozy up to the target and don't look like a threat and then strike. "Don't suppose you could help a fellow out, could you?"

Sodalite was doubtful the ruse would work and he inwardly hoped that Fafnir would help in subduing the pair long enough to take what he needed. It was all he could ask for.

Dessie might have been out of the game for some time but she knew when they were being watched, she just shrugged it off when they were around other people but as they entered the park it was clear that the feeling of eyes on the back of her neck wasn’t going away. She was doing her best to focus on their surroundings as they continued to stroll through the park, a horrid place to just enjoy the evening as far as she was concerned, at least in this city. But she still didn’t see anything or sense anything other than the watching stare of the darkness. Maybe she was just paranoid. Maybe her imagination was just in overdrive. Maybe- the sound of a cracking branch had her head snapping up and icy blue eyes raking the surrounding. She yanked her arm from Nate’s grip and shushed him when he tried to say something. She needed to focus. She needed to figure out where the danger was going to come from. This was Destiny City… where danger was part of its very fabric.

But it wasn’t until the figure stepped out of the darkness that she knew just exactly what her instincts were warning her about. She eyed the lieutenant as he approached, silently judging him and taking stock of her own fitness. It wasn’t going to be easy, and it would hurt pretty badly, but… she could take him. If there was a place she could slip off to first that is.

- - - : - - -

Nate casually stepped in front of Dessie and smiled easily at the newcomer. He might not be a native to Destiny City but he did grow up in a big city so as much as he was trusting, he also knew that danger came in all shapes and sizes. “I would say that overall it is a rather nice evening for a stroll.” He agreed in his British drawl, absently nodding but never taking his eyes off of the other male. He was silently wondering what was up with his outfit. Was it typical for the states or was the guy just some cosplayer or something.

“If you need directions I might not be the best one to ask but I’m sure we can figure something out,” he said kindly even as he kept his distance and made sure to remain between him and his Dessie. Just in case. He knew she could protect herself but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t do what he could to protect her first.

Within earshot but out of sight behind a large tree, Fafnir nearly sighed as the lieutenant he'd been escorting managed to make himself known to the civilians he'd been following. Not a great way to start things off, but maybe he could save it? Fafnir was in no rush to jump in and help. This was supposed to be practice. A pair of civilians should only be a challenge, nothing more. If power showed up, or they tried to escape, then he might step in, but for now... if he hadn't been watching so intently, he might have been bored.

Training lieutenants in energy draining wasn't his preferred duty, but anything that supporting his eventual promotion was worthwhile. Even if he wanted to roll his eyes and grumbled, Fafnir remained all business and focus, refusing to let himself get sloppy.

The approach left the civs wary and Fafnir wondered how Sodalite was going to handle this. A quick rush to knock them both out, maybe? He wasn't sure the man had the silver tongue to talk them around to trusting him, but maybe. It would be interesting to find out.

For a moment Sodalite only stared at the young man that had replied to his original comment about it being a lovely evening. It was actually astonishing. But given the accent that he detected it probably wasn't that unusual. Those that weren't natives of the city generally didn't seem to understand the danger that could lurk unseen. Or was it unreported? Either way Sodalite mentally dismissed the man for a moment before focusing his attention on the young woman instead.

In a game of chess one had to know their opponent in order to know what their next probable move might be. In this circumstance Sodalite knew nothing about this young woman except it appeared that she was wary of his appearance. That alone threw up red flags in his mind and yet, perhaps this could work to his advantage if he acted quickly enough. The woman was the one to watch but could he bring her to heel if he targeted the other? He could still move faster than a civilian and he thought it might be easy to at least keep one civilian under control if they were a more sluggish than usual. Also knowing that he wasn't really alone might have evened the odds in his favor but still, Sodalite knew that for the most part ... he was on his own. "Judging by your accent, sir, I'd have to agree with you. Directions from one that is not from our fair city would most likely end up with the recipient getting even more lost. No offense meant but I'm afraid it's the truth. Tourists can't make good guides if they don't know the lay of the land."

Sodalite's gaze narrowed once more to the young woman. How would she react if she were attacked? How would she react if he attacked her boyfriend? How would the man react if he went for the girl instead? Either way it seemed like it would possibly be two against one, unless he could subdue one or if Fafnir revealed himself. Either way time was ticking away in this small standoff and Sodalite decided that the man would serve as an unwilling pawn. He closed the distance between himself and the young man with the speed that being an agent afforded him before recalling his weapon, "so really, the best idea would just to cooperate and let me do what I need to do so that no one gets hurt."

All subtlety had vanished at this point. Sodalite was an agent on a mission and he wanted to complete it. Reaching out with his free hand he tried to clutch a bit of the young man's shirt to draw him in closer while the other hand clutched the ring to the 'weapon' he held. His gaze flicked to the woman once more before he attempted to at least siphon off a little of the stranger's energy. He wanted to be aware if she tried to make any move. His weapon didn't provide gentle taps when swung around.

Dessie, Nate
PostPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2023 3:04 pm

Dessie was doing her best to keep an eye on the nega officer while looking for the best spot to ‘hide’ for a few moments. She had just spotted a small building tucked under some trees, the path running right beside it. Perfect she thought before sudden movement had her regret her split focus. The lieutenant moved with speed that was part and parcel that seemed to also come with the chaotic side of the senshi coin. Her eyes widened when she realized he was pulling Nate closer towards him. She didn’t register that his hand was just fisted in his shirt, or that Nate was still… well alive. All she ‘saw’ was hand in a chest. In Nate’s chest. She knew what would happen, his starseed would be ripped out and his soulless body would drop to the ground. It would be up to her to try to rescue the physical representation of his mortal soul from a being who just saw them as fodder for chaos. She had seen it before. She had stood by while it happened, doing nothing to stop it that time.

She wouldn’t do that again. Dessie didn’t think. She reached out and with more strength than what could typically be attributed to a woman, not factoring in her adrenalin, training, fear, and anger that is, yanked the father of her child away from the lieutenant. She manhandled the grown man, disregarding the sound of tearing cloth, until she was the one between them rather than Nate. The only thing that kept her from worse was hearing Nate call out to her, he was alive and mostly well. “Run,” her order was absolute and she didn’t wait to see if he would follow her lead, she grabbed his arm and ran.

There was some fumbling once they reached the small little building, a two roomed bathroom it seemed, but she was able to get one of the rooms open. It smelled horrid, and normally there wasn’t enough money in the world to make her enter it but this wasn’t a normal day. Dessie shoved him in the cramped space, following behind him and latching the door even as she gave him instructions, “Call Xander. Tell him one officer and the location. If I’m not back in 30 call the cops and whatever you do don’t open this door for anyone but me or dad.” Dessie gave him a quick kiss before squirming out of the high ventilation window with help of the toilet, ignoring Nate’s confused questions. The escape of the bathroom hurt, but she kept silent. Right now the officer had to think that both of them were sheltering in the building while waiting for the authorities. He couldn’t find out that she had slipped out or that she was currently hiding on the sloped roof of the bathrooms. No one ever looked up.

At least not until she quietly powered up. Once the magic flowed through her Antares stood up on the roof and scoffed, “you suck! I was taking a nap and you just had to ruin it didn’t you?” The drop from the glorified shed had her suck in a breath but still she stood straight and ignored the pain that was radiating from her core. “You might want to run home little one,” Antares glared at the lieutenant even as she felt a much stronger aura wash over her. He wasn’t alone. This wasn’t just a fight between a baby nega and a super senshi… oh no, no it wasn’t.

Her only hope was that the backup she had Nate call in would get here, post haste.

- - - : - - -

Nate didn’t get a chance to even comprehend what was going on. First the strange bloke was chatting with them and then he was yanking him towards him even though Nate could have sworn there was definitely plenty of space between them moments ago. His mind was still trying to wrap around the ‘and no one gets hurt’ comment, were they being robbed?, when he was rather violently yanked backwards by something. He wasn’t some kind of ragdoll to be tossed around like a dog toy, damn it! But that was just what it was like as against his rather incoherent cursing Dessie pulled him along behind her, shoved him in a horrid loo, and kissed him like it was their last before slipping out of a window.

His mind had to be not all there because he couldn’t make head nor tails of the situation. “What the bloody hell is going on!” He practically yelled even as reached for his phone to call the authorities, only to find empty air. Keys and wallet, yes but phone… no. His shirt and jacket were ripped, the pocket that had contained his phone now just contained a gaping hole.

He didn’t think, he just acted. Nate unlatched the door and opened it only to shut it immediately once he saw that there was yet another strangely dressed person standing out there.

But Dessie was out there!

What was he going to do!!!

((TL;DR - Dessie has flashback of previous, fatal seeding moments, treats Nate a bit like a doll and tosses him in bathroom. Sneaks out through window and gets on roof, powers up and realizes she is in deeper s**t then she can handle. Nate is yanked around like a dog toy, tossed in bathroom sans phone, and has no clue what his next move is yet))

Adrenaline. Such a pesky thing. It allowed for inhuman feats to be accomplished by your run of the mill normal civilians. In this case Sodalite's hold on the young man was suddenly lost as the young woman sprung into action and all Sodalite was left gripping was a square of fabric that could have been anything. Although even as he spun around to track where the pair had scampered off to did the lieutenant hear the distinctive crackling of a phone that had too much weight bearing down on it. Well, at least that solved one problem. At least the young man wouldn't be able to call out for any outside assistance.

Grinding his boot onto the phone for good measure did Sodalite pause in thought. It wasn't ideal but if the pair were trapped in that small building then maybe the solution was to just wait out the pair. They'd have to emerge sooner or later. But anything could happen in the meantime and almost as if by thinking about scenarios that could thwart his lessons did an aura of order spring up. Even though the power signature spoke of a greater rank than he was Sodalite was almost confident that he could take this new opponent on by himself. But that would also be fairly foolish to do so.

Instead of being gung-ho and antagonistic Sodalite swung his weapon around as the senshi strolled into sight. "Really, if disturbing your sleep was all that my presence caused then I'd have to consider yourself lucky. I'm not going anywhere either. I have every right to be out and about on this evening, just like you have the right so ... just butt out because really, this doesn't concern you."

Well, he certainly needed the practice at this. Fafnir thought as he drifted out of his hiding spot, watching with thoughtfully narrowed eyes as the pair of civilians fled to one of those cement park bathrooms. As though that was anything, but a dead end. Not the worst of out comes, all things considered, though Sodalite's expression betrayed consternation.

Fafnir had been about to drift over and deliver a precisely worded, not-quite-patronizing, almost-lecture about subduing the target before they could escape before watching Sodalite work his way out of the difficulties he'd gotten himself in to... when the powered signature had blossomed inside his head, tooth-achingly, sickly sweet against his inner senses. The power level felt roughly equal to his own and his focus sharpened intently.

Where there was one, there could be more, and he had a lieutenant to keep an eye on. If he could manage the situation, perhaps they could get another kind of instruction out of this debacle... and maybe, best case, a dead senshi. There was a medal on the list for both of them, if they could manage it, and medals looked so good for promotion... Jumping up into the air, Fafnir came down on the other side of the super and let his arms rest crossed over his chest. He gave the fiesty blonde his best smile, light and easy and just a little condescending.

"You should listen to my friend." He said, his voice light and friendly. "Two against one isn't good odds for you. All you have to do is turn around and forget you saw us, and you can walk away from this. No harm, no foul."

The chances of her actually accepting that were probably low, but Fafnir figured it never hurt to try.

Antares shifted as best she could so she could keep both chaotic nutjobs in sight. Pale blue eyes flicked towards the corrupt that showed himself, at least she knew where he was. He was the danger here, at least between the baby nega and himself. If it had just been herself she might have taken them both up on the offer to skidaddle but it wasn’t, Nate was effectively trapped in the bathroom and she was not about to throw him to the proverbial wolves. Instead she shrugged and grinned, “I was never very good at math,” before springing into action. First, distract the corrupt. A muttered few words and a very obvious flinging motion towards the other senshi was all she did… a misdirection really but one she hoped would cause the other magic user to flinch enough for her to finish her main attack. Taking down the lieutenant.

Using the speed she was granted as a super senshi she tried to slip under the range of his ‘weapon’, wan-a-be flails were range weapons. Once in that range and it was all hand to hand. Antares excelled at hand to hand. She already had it mentally planned out. A swift strike to the solar plexus, aka the diaphragm, to drive the wind from him. Kicking out his feet to make him land on his back. Punch to the face to knock him out. Leaving him hogtied would be best but she just didn’t have anything that would work, sadly. But knocking him out would leave him out of the real fight. The one between herself and the corrupt senshi.

At least that was how it was meant to go. Sadly she had not trained or really exercised in months, had not been in a real life or death fight in years, and was still dealing with serious bodily pain after having a child recently. The best-laid plans of mice and men and all that.

- - - : - - -

Nate had to do something. Anything! He peeked out of the door again and spied yet another bloody cosplayer! Dessie was out there somewhere! Knowing his darling she was waiting to get into the fight that was brewing herself. She always was the one to step in when fists were about to fly, normally stopping the fight with a few well placed blows herself. But he got the feeling that this particular fight wasn’t something his girl would be able to handle. Not if that speed from earlier wasn’t a trick of the lighting.

Out of options and with no weapons in the, frankly rank, bathroom he tried to get out the same way that Dessie had moments ago, the ventilation window. He did not factor in that he was a bit bigger than her and that the window was small… and high on the wall.

“This is not how I’m going to be found,” He grumbled to himself as he wiggled and pushed. Mentally promising to all the powers just about anything if only Dessie didn’t catch him stuck like a cork in a wine bottle right then.

If there was one thing that Sodalite lacked in all this - it would be the difference in power levels between himself and the super senshi in white. Of course he had been studying the guide that pointed out these scenarios but when confronted in reality it seemed to be a lot different. Observing a battle while in said battle wasn't going to be the best idea and for a moment Sodalite thought that he'd been forgotten about as the strange senshi began to mutter something before making motions to seemingly attack Fafnir. Although that quickly meant nothing as she was suddenly darting towards him instead. Hastily he tried to put as much distance as he could between them before turning back around and promptly found himself stumbling over his own two feet. Almost as if he found himself in a ballet did he whirl around comically before bringing up his weapon in a swinging motion. Perhaps if he were lucky the plastic device would strike her full on in some sensitive area. He waited for any possible recoil that could tell of a successful strike.

Almost going to his knees as a result of his brief stumble did Sodalite brace for any possible outcome of his current predicament. At the same time he began to concentrate. If the senshi got in too close - maybe he could latch onto her leg or something and begin to funnel off some of her energy. It'd certainly make her easier to handle if that was the case. But first he'd have to lure her in. Staying down on his knees Sodalite loosened the grasp he had maintained on his weapon before giving a rough countdown to himself as the much stronger aura barrelled towards him. Just a few more steps...

Lashing out with his weapon Sodalite went for the senshi's ankles just hoping that he'd calculated right.

Fafnir caught the throwing motion and darted forward, dodging whatever it was she might have been throwing at him. Fake out or not, he did not want to get hit by senshi magic. His momentum took him towards Sodalite even as the other senshi rushed him, aiming to take out the weaker of the two of them. Not a bad plan, but not one Fafnir had any intention of allowing. Sodalite was his responsibility right now.

Drawing a deep breath, he pursed his lips and blew, releasing a rolling, heavy, sickly cloud of purple smoke that rushed from him and spread. The white moon senshi would need to do some dodging if she wanted to avoid contact with it... Sodalites stumbled, thankfully, took him out of range of where Fafnir was aiming just enough to avoid the edge of the cone. As long as he wasn't stupid enough to step into the cloud, he should be fine. All Fafnir needed was a moment of weakness from the other super... a chance to get in close to her.

His boots beat the ground as he ran.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Fafnir's Blight
Fafnir blows out a cloud of sickly purple gas that saps the energy and health of those who stumble into it. Those caught within the cone will see signs of disease on expose skin and eyes, and are significantly sickened by it as it saps their energy and health, affecting their performance. The gas can travel up to ten feet, but fades away after a few seconds. The effect can last up to 30 seconds. Breathing does not affect it, and he can use it twice per battle.

Antares kept on after her intended target, back peddling only slightly when the lieutenant seemed to wheel around and swing his wannabe flail around wildly. It might have just been a plastic toy but getting smacked in the head would hurt if not briefly incapacitate her so Antares hesitated for a moment even as the baby officer damn near took a knee. She was going to have to readjust her plan…

Her thought process was completely derailed when she was enveloped by a cloud of sickly purple fog. She tried to hold her breath, knowing that it was some type of magical attack, but ended up coughing and coughing and coughing. Her eyes watering as she stumbled forward right into the path of the lieutenant’s weapon. The ball of the toy smashed into her ankle with enough force to draw a yelp of pain from her as she collapsed to the ground, once more in the fog with her ankle feeling like it was on fire. Between coughs she called upon her magic, “Scorpion Swarm” and unlike last time, the ghostly scorpions appeared. The lieutenant was closer but the rapidly approaching corrupt senshi was a much, much bigger threat so it was a no-brainer to send her small army after the other Super Sailor.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Scorpion Swarm

When the attack is called out three ghostly scorpions around the size of a ferret appears and advances upon the attended target. The scorpions can be touched, swatted, hit, and stepped on but it is not recommended since they are able to sting through clothes and armor alike. When one stings, it's target they lose all feeling in that particular limb... as if their limb is still asleep and has yet to wake up. They can still use it but they can't feel it at all. This affect lasts 30 seconds, any residual effects are up to the target if there is any at all.

The scorpions can be dodged and after 7 feet they disappear and they can only manifest for 30 seconds at a time. They do not travel in a straight line, rather they will head to anything moving so it could be tricked. The length of the scorpion and the length of the effects of the attack are separate, if you are stung in the beginning you have just as long as someone stung right before the scorpion disappears.

This attack can be used up to a maximum of three times in a battle. When the nine scorpions have been used no more can manifest until later. Using all available scorpions drains Antares severely.

Nate wiggled and struggled and finally, finally, was able to free himself from the tight grip of the window. Only sheer dumb luck kept him from face planting into the dead and mostly dormant plant life under the window. It didn’t take him much to get situated and even less for him to start off in the direction he figured Dessie would have gone but the yell from the other side of the building had him hesitate. He wanted to go after Dessie, he wanted to protect her, had to protect her, but the sound of someone getting hurt still drew him in. He needed to know, and would have to step in if he thought it was needed. So against his better judgment he took a few steps back towards the backside of the loo, planning on peeking out from around the corner and determining if anyone needed him to step in like some kind of stupid knight in shining armor, because he really suspected such a move would be massively stupid. Still wouldn’t stop him from doing what was right though.

At least that had been the plan. A flash of vibrant green drew his attention. All of his attention. Like metal shavings to a magnet he approached the small little vine. A fly towards a flame, he no longer thought of the fight, only briefly thought of Dessie, and didn’t even wonder why he was reaching out to touch the glowing little plant. It was as if he was watching a movie, trapped within his own head and witnessing someone else pilot his body. He touched the vine, the green stem twining around his finger as power surged through him. Something alien and yet familiar. It washed over him and enveloped him in its warm embrace. He knew it and yet had no clue what was going on. And then like a sigh it all settled, he still felt the power flow within him but it was a background noise, one that he was able to ignore. He was also in control once again, the first thing he noticed was that he was no longer wearing his normal clothes. Now he was wearing some fancy kind of purple getup that was reminiscent of something his ancestors might have once worn.

Shocked and rather lost he stumbled away from the building, blinking as he made his way into the watery light of the crappy outdoor, ‘safety’ light. For the first time since the entire ordeal occurred he was getting to see exactly what was going on. “What the bloody hell is going on” he practically shouted, his eyes wide and completely uncertain.

((If I've messed anything up let me know<3 ))

The resounding crack of plastic meeting flesh was music to Sodalite's ears. The following yelp and sound of a body crashing to the ground was even sweeter. It meant that between himself and Fafnir they'd at least managed to down the white moon senshi. But how could they make her stay down? Already it seemed as if she was throwing out her magical attack and while he flinched at being in the closest proximity to his opponent nothing seemed to happen. Did that mean that whatever she'd done had targeted Fafnir? As the strange fog that Fafnir had cast wafted away did Sodalite take his chances to try and at least do his part to make sure this battle ended in their favor.

Even as he slowly inched his hand forward to try and begin the draining process that would at least hopefully slow down this senshi did another aura flare up in close proximity and Sodalite frowned before abandoning subtly for effectiveness. Stretching out his fingers gently brushed a limb that was not his own and he began to draw the smallest amount of energy away from the target. He had hoped to keep it nonchalant but was time of the essence? Did he and Fafnir have the ability to go two on two if it came down to it? Should he not continue to try and weaken the strongest opponent while she was apparently already down?

His sweeping brush of his fingers turned into fingers that chose instead to clamp down on the senshi's injured ankle. A small orb of energy was forming in his free hand and he smiled at his success. At least this was one lesson he was seemingly getting the hang of after many failed attempts. Maybe it meant that he had to be more choosy of those that he wanted to acquire energy from.

Even as he stared at the small orb Sodalite found himself shouting to Fafnir a warning about this new aura's proximity. "I don't think we're alone anymore. Someone else is nearby."

"The ********!" Fafnir swore as his path was suddenly blocked by a bunch of ******** scorpions. He broke off his headlong charge to dart to the side, making very sure he was no where near in reach of those ugly, creepy things. He couldn't stay out of the fight though... Sodalite was out matched by the senshi, he couldn't expect the man to stand up against her.

Swearing softly again, the corrupt gathered himself and teleported between the super senshi and lieutenant, swinging at her with a sharp punch towards her face.

"Take care of it." He snapped back without looking down for the lieutenant, all his focus on the super. "Whoever it is, you should be able to take care of them."

Concentrating and taking a page from the lieutenant's book, he concentrated and began to pull energy from the super senshi, draining as hard and quickly as he could in an attempt to weaken her. The fight might be roughly even, but if he could get the upper hand, they might end up the victors here.

It hurt, it really hurt. Her ankle was burning but honestly her underlying condition was what hurt the most. It ached. Bone deep. If she didn’t need to move she didn’t want to, but that wasn’t an option. The only thing that gave her the mental fortitude to lay there for a second while the magical purple smog faded away was the thought that reinforcements were coming. Her family would be here, she just had to hold out, and everything would be ok. A sudden grip on her rapidly darkening ankle had her scream in pain even as she tried to kick out with the injured foot. That was a worse idea as the pain shooting up her leg brought dancing silver lights to her vision. So she twisted, hissing in pain as she turned, kicking out with her uninjured leg. Putting as much force behind the strike as she could. If the baby officer was close enough to touch her then she was close enough to kick his block off of his shoulders, and she was going to do her damndest to do so.

Antares was winding up to kick once again when the corrupt senshi used that damnable move that chaos soaked nutters were able to do. Teleporting was just cheating and she hated it! Her dislike of the ‘insta’-corrupt was compounded as she had to block the face punch by crossing her arms in front of her much more vulnerable head, turning her head inorder to keep as much distance between the strike as possible. The strike hitting solidly into her forearms and adding yet another painful location to her already aching body but that's not what really had her mentally cursing. It was what she spotted laying on the ground. A smashed phone. A phone that had a familiar case on it. Nate’s phone.

There was no help coming.

No one was even aware that this was happening.

The senshi could feel the flair of the aura of a knight nearby but she was much more concerned with her own skin at that moment. Between the pain and the rapid draining she was running out of time. Darkness was already eating at the edge of her vision as she kicked out at the corrupt. A split second. That's all she needed. Once again she called upon her magic, “Scorpion Swarm,” and did her best to twist out of reach even as she drew out her senshi phone. There was only one thing on it that she needed and it only took her a second to hit it, sending out a signal for assistance.

He really had no clue what was going on. There was a purple fog that was there and then it wasn’t. A person with super long hair that was over here and then was over there. And two people seemed to be ganged up against the woman in white. All three were dressed bizarrely but then again so was he now. As confused and uncertain as he was, the one thing that the young man knew was that it was not ok the way the dark clothed duo seemed to be picking on the blonde. “Oy! Stop that!” He ran towards the little group, not sure what he was going to do. No clue what he could do! But he had been in a pub brawl a time or two so he could at least throw a few punches.

Maybe.

“Don’t make me call the cops!” His threat was pretty empty. He had no way of doing that but he had to do something. Otherwise Dessie would smack him one if she ever found out. She was pretty big about protecting the little guy and all that. Something she had done time and time again in school. He found it endearing, even when he was sometimes considered the ‘little guy’ in some situations… primarily the aforementioned pub brawls.
