As much as Cybele loved the thrill of the chase, she had enough old wounds at this point that the chase was starting to come with consequences. Even a short dash and battle after a youma would make some scar or other act up. It was her feet, mostly. All these months later, and her feet still ached half the time. Every once in a while, she'd get her shoulder, too, though, and after drawn out battle with a particularly hardy rock-slug youma, everything that could be sore was sore. She collapsed on a nearby curb, and leaned lightly against the cold metal post of a stop sign before the youma dust had even fully settled to the ground. She didn't think she wanted to chase anything again for at least a week. Of course she would have if she'd had to. There were plenty of times when she got done with one fight and had to move on, just like that, to another. A little pain in those cases was better than letting the Negaverse do whatever it wanted. It was nice in this case, though, that the neighborhood seemed quiet for the moment, save for a Order aura not so far away. Cybele watched the streetlights while she waited for the throbbing in her feet to die down, and then watched the way that her breath turned to mist in the frigid air.

Steins had some mixed emotions after her run-in with that other cat. On one hand, at least this one pointed her in the direction of a whole database of info....and had given her more power, so now she was a 'super' or something.. On the other hand however, there were a lot of concepts she just couldn't quite get her head around. Sure, she was an avid reader of fantasy books, so she had been exposed to some pretty wild concepts, but still.... It was a lot. She wasn't exactly confident about trying hands-on learning either. At least, not on her own. She had talked a but with Angelica, but they both seemed to be flying by the seat of their pants, as it were. This had all seemed a lot less scary when she didn't know anything. She simply used her magical disguise and magic to get out of some creepy situations leaving clubs and the like late at night. She hadn't exactly ever gone out of her way to track down monsters or anything. Even the cat said the only reason Steins could be given more power was purely because of the length of time she'd had her power, so her starseed or whatever was used to it, and could accommodate more. But with more power came more responsibility - at least, that's what the superhero movies said, right? And from what she could gather, she was supposed to be fighting against something, for something.... The concept was, again, not quite clear in her mind. One thing she was sure of though - she didn't want to do anything to jeopardize her current life. Things were so good now. To think that she could loose all that in the blink of an eye, either though death or corruption, was probably what scared her the most. She reasoned though, that she could either hide away from this duty in fear, or try to tackle it head on so she could protect this life that she had built. So that is why she was out tonight. She was jumpy and on high alert when she felt that sickly twinge of energy that she now knew to be Chaos in the air, but then it died, and she could feel another familiar, similar, energy. Steins started to walk in that direction, timidly at first, but the closer she got, she saw a slumped figure and her pace hastened. "Oh my goodness, are you alright?" She asked as she got closer till she was close enough to crouch down beside the other senshi.

There she was, finally coming around the corner. The girl's sweet little dress and her boots that looked like they'd been stitched together out of scraps were mostly silver, Cybele couldn't help but notice. They had plenty of green in them, too. She ran a thumb over one of the green ribbons of her own outfit as a smile played over her lips. Perhaps it was shallow for what people would expect of the Huntress, but she took it as a good sign that they matched so closely. After all, she'd initially bonded with the woman who was the love of her life because they'd had the same shoes. This girl was looking quite worried, though, and Cybele straightened slightly, since it was probably best to address that, first. "I'm all right," she told her, and the smile stayed firm on her lips even if there was still a heaviness in her shoulders, since she couldn't shake all of the aches out of her body just for the sake of politeness. "The youma is gone. That's the important thing." The scattering of silver dust around Cybele's feet was evidence of that. "It took a bit to crack its defenses, that's all. Now the old scars are acting up, but I'll be fine." She needed to give her feet a break, that was the main thing. "New friends are always a sight for sore eyes, though," she added, looking up. "Thanks for checking on me."

It was odd the things that could draw you to a person you don't know, sometimes. Even the little things, like color schemes that could spark a bond in to motion. For the moment though, Steins herself didn't notice, and instead gave a sigh of relief, both to hear the monster was gone, and that the other senshi was alright. "I'm glad to hear that. I haven't had to take on any on my own. Despite the title of 'super' I really don't feel it - I'm still just learning everything, so I'm not sure I'd have been much help..... I'm Steins, by the way!" A thing anyone would quickly learn about her was that Steins could be a talker. At least friendly talk could be a good reprieve from villainous monologues though, right!?

With her shattered memories, Cybele didn't know much about feeling new. She'd woken up in the ranks of the Negaverse, where it had been explained to her that she was a warrior, and she'd had the muscle memory to back that up. She did, however, very much know what it felt like to be a Super Senshi. For a long time, she thought that she was going to be stuck without her full power, and she'd been determined to make the most of the strength that she did have. "You're not weak," she said, with a gentleness that for the most part was saved for the ones that she was closest to. "You're a Super Senshi. That means something, even if you're still feeling overwhelmed. You would be able to help me. You would probably be able to be more than a match for most youma, even on your own." Cybele realized that, on its own, that might not be the most helpful statement. "I understand it can feel like a lot, though." she said, with a tired smile. "We could spar sometime, and try to see what you can do." Cybele looked thoughtful. "Or, I could try to get you connected, so you don't have to be out on your own so much."

"But how is mind-screwy magic supposed to dust a monster?" Steins asked with genuine curiosity as she sat beside Cybele. "Honestly, I'd really appreciate any help I can get. I do have like, one other senshi friend, but we've both kind of gotten the short end of the magical girl education stick. For my part, the cat that first 'awoke' me or whatever, didn't tell me anything. Just 'whoop, say this, have some magic goodies, byeeeeee~' at least the second one was kind enough to point out where I could find some sort of database, of stuff, and I've been reading it, but a lot still doesn't makes sense..." Information was probably the greatest weapon and shield anyone could have when it came to this sort of thing, right? Well, girl was lackin' and honestly? She was a C student at best. She'd always been nose deep in to fantasy novels. Now that she found herself kind of in one, well..... Turns out that didn't do her any good either. She had ranted about it all to Dom maybe a hundred times by now. Of course, he didn't have any part of this, so didn't really have any information to offer, but the effort to listen and commiserate was appreciated all the same.

"Even if you had magic that counted as more offensive, it wouldn't be as simple as just calling out a spell and waiting for a youma to turn to dust," said Cybele, not in any sort of condescending way, just with the confidence of someone who frequently thought about different tactics for defeating the monsters that liked to lurk around the city. "If your magic is confusing, use it. Confuse them, and then that's your chance to go in and attack with whatever you can find." That was easier said then done, she knew. For Cybele, it was second nature. She had her muscle memory even if she didn't have any actual memories of a cat, or some other mentor, spelling out the way to fight to her. "Trash can lids are good. Pipes, too. Hand to hand works fine, too. It's a bit harder to learn, but we can practice." A moment passed as she seemed to consider something. "Even if the cats meant well, I think it's hard to explain all of this in one sitting. It's hard to feel supportive if someone gives you a textbook and then leaves. I can try to reassure you now, or give you some tips, but if I never see you again, you'll be back in the same place tomorrow, won't you?" She summoned a phone from subspace and held it up until Stein's contact information arranged itself on her screen. "So you can always call me, all right? And if you want more support, I can introduce you to some others. I've sort of got a team going?" She smiled, gently. "So people don't have to feel so alone."

For ever answer, which Steins took in with eager eyes, the young senshi could think up a million more questions, but she was grateful for whatever advice she received. "It would mean a lot to me if you didn't mind teaching me what you can. I can be back here tomorrow - no problem!" Steins said with a smile and eagerness that showed just how little she knew about what she had been thrown in to. There was still innocence and untainted hope there. She summoned her phone too - something she was glad had seemed to come naturally, or else she may have cursed the cosmic tailor for giving her all these things but not including any pockets on her outfit - fuku? With Cybele's info in her phone now, Steins nodded emphatically, "Got it! And a team sounds fantastic! A support network would be mega-helpful!" Steins didn't want to be too overbearing and constantly pestering the same poor unfortunate soul with her newbie antics - spreading that out was probably best, lest she make a pest of herself. She'd also feel much better knowing she has people she could count on when her luck inevitably wore out and she got in trouble. stari_maga After this I'm totally cool with assuming they've met up several times and gotten Steins more up to speed. Saves the awkward learning/getting to know one another phase. QUE MONTAAAGE! XD

"All right," said Cybele, a sort of protectiveness coming over her features as she looked over at her new friend, the new person that she was going to do everything in her power to shield and guide. "Tomorrow. I'll be here." And she would be. She would be here the day after, too, if she had to be, and the day after that, as many times as it took for Steins to stop feeling lost and alone and start feeling like she had at least some sort of power against what was happening in the city. She deserved that confidence. She deserved that network. Cybele would do whatever she could to be that for her.
