------------
Everest mostly ignored his sister, focused on the road, until her complaining started to grate on his nerves. Despite how annoyed he felt his tone was even kiltered when he finally responded, “Hara, please shut up. That isn’t even possible … hell if there was a road around the world, it would even take that long to drive around it.”
He rolled his eyes and turned on the next street, nearly there, being only a block away. “We’ll be there in like 2 minutes. Text Ash and let her know. Make sure you let her know you're in a*****e mode too.”
He was starting to wish he had decided to stay home even if he did want to spend time with their older sister.
------------
While January was the start of a new year, Ash wasn't as excited for it like she was during halloween. While she can technically go see her younger siblings whenever she wants, most of the time their father would just ask if they could come over, which saved her some trouble. Gas is expensive and while money wasn't too big of a problem, she would rather save where she could. The little chime coming from her phone let her know that she received a text, probably Sahara. She picked up her phone, laughing at the message she just read.
Well, it seems like she would be receiving her siblings while they are in a less than stellar mood. Eh…If they wanted to tango or get mouthy, bring it. “Papa! Sahara and Everest are around the corner!” She sent a text back saying she had her a*****e repellent ready just in case. The two were like night and day and while they were not twins, Ash thought that they should’ve been.
------------
“The message has been communicated,” Sahara said before rolling her eyes, lips pursed. Her brother ignored her, but she didn’t care. She could finally see their father’s house which meant in a few moments she would be with her favorite sibling, she was sure Ash was Everest's favorite too though.
She didn't even wait for him to cut the car off before she was hopping out and running straight into the house. “We’re here even though Everest drives like a 90 year old grandmother.”
She took her shoes off at the door and slipped into house slippers, a habit from being raised with a Japanese stepfather. Their father had been happy to provide slippers for them to use. “Ash, where are you? Papa?”
------------
Everest was very glad to get to his father’s house, especially when his sister was insisting on acting like an overgrown toddler today. He was sure it was just to bug him, but wished she didn't have to pick today of all days. He turned the car off and gathered his things before heading inside and closing the door behind him.
"Papa, Ash, we're here! I'm going to go drop my stuff in my room."
He toed off his shoes, stepping into slippers before running up the stairs to drop his things off.
------------
Ash came flying down the stairs, “Papa is in the garage!” She immediately picked her little sister up into a hug. Everest managed to avoid her but she will get him as soon as he comes out of his room. “Baby sister!!!! Heard you're in a*****e mode today?” She gave her a good squeeze before letting her go. “Does Everest really drive that slow?” To be fair, being cautious was something that her brother should practice but at the same time, weren't kids his age trying to go fast and stuff? “Maybe we should have Annie give him lessons on how to go fast?” Granted, Annie’s street racing was illegal, but that didn't mean she didn't know how to follow the law when it counted.
------------
Sahara hugged her sister tight, grinning and laughing at her question. “Do you even have to ask? He’s too careful, one day he's going to get pulled over for going too slow.” She chuckled and frowned when Everest walked into the room and proceeded to give her the middle finger.
------------
“I don’t need lessons from Annie and she weirds me out … I will pass if its all just the same.” He headed over to the couch and plopped down sprawling out. “Gotta anything planned for the afternoon, Ash?”
------------
“Weirds you out … you're the weird one Ever.” She sighed and rolled her eyes. “I think we should invite Annie over and race. Not cars obviously, but I bet she’d have fun. Though I’ll still win.”
------------
“How on earth does Annie weird you out?” She sometimes wondered if her little brother would end up swinging for the other team…He was just…Himself. “Mmmmmn…Not really? I mean I could take you both shopping, I think papa said to grab some stuff for dinner so we could do that?” She pulled her brother into a hug as well, giving him just as much of a squeeze as her sister. “I second that. Annie isn't bad Ever…You just gotta get to know her. I do think a racing game would work and then maybe a running one? We could do that?”
------------
Ever rolled his eyes at his sisters and frowned, “she acts like hates me, but I see her blushing and staring. I'm not blind. So yes she weirds me out. It's the weirdest crush I’ve ever seen. She’d be cool if it wasn’t for that. It's also like she honestly thinks I dont know, which is something else entirely.”
He rolled his eyes, “Really Ash, not racing games? Actually racing … obviously not in cars because this one can’t drive, but with good old fashion man power.”
------------
“I’m not sure why she thinks you dont know, but to each their own. Her odd crush doesn't make her weird though, Annie is still cool. Best thing about that damn school we go to.” She chuckled at her sister's suggestion and her not realizing she actually wanted to race. She didn't know how though, since Sahara took her board everywhere.
“I’ll text Annie, we can go to the store first and then when she gets here we can all race. Of course I’m going to win, but you guys can all fight for second.”
She smirked in a very matter of fact way, but rolled her eyes when her brother stated that was only because she was going to cheat.
------------
Ash’s eyes widened, “Oooooh, well I mean I'll use rollerblades if that’s the case.” She rolled her eyes at Ever, “I agree with Hara, she's not weird…You've never heard of the little tale about little kids and crushes? That if they pick on you a lot they like you? That sometimes doesn't leave as we get older apparently.” However that wasn't how she operated. If she wants something or someone she just goes for it. Most recent conquest was a certain tall and beautiful woman that is her best friend at the same time.
Speaking of….
She might have to send said friend a text in a little bit.
“Also racing games do count Ever. Would be the one thing me and Hara wouldn't be able to cheat on.” That was a lie and she was sure her siblings knew this, but she really wanted to play need for speed at least once since she knew she was probably going to come up second after Hara. Poor Ever would probably be last? Or maybe Annie would, either way she wasn't going to be last. She was too good on rollerblades to be anything other than that.
------------
Everest groaned and rolled his eyes, his sisters seemed ready to treat him like the village idiot today. “Sometimes I hate you both, you know that, right? Go on, call Annie. I'm going to go ask Dad what he’s making for dinner so we know what to pick up.”
As he walked out he turned and looked at his sister and started laughing, before turning and walking out of the room. “You lie so much and you know I know you’ll still cheat. Stop trying to act as though I’m the dense one.”
He called from down the hall, “we can play racing later, so you two can cheat on that two.”
------------
Sahara looked at her sister like she’d grown a second head when she said they couldnt cheat on a racing game. She gave her a pointed look when he brother responded, before rolling her eyes and shaking her head. She had no idea why here sister even said that. Everest was forever calling them out.
She pulled out her phone and called Annie putting her on speaker phone. “Hey Annie, its me and Ash … say hi Ash. Anyway me and Ever are at Dad’s for the weekend, come over and race with us yeah … no not cars … you got a bike or something? Just bring whatever, just has to be manual. Ive got my board, Ash rollerblades and Ever his bike.”
She grinned when Annie agreed and turned to her sister, “ready to whoop Ever’s butt?”
------------
Ash didn't even try to deny what Everest said, failing at holding back a giggle. “Hellooooo Annie!” Ash was forever amused that Annie instantly thought about street racing as soon as Sahara asked, the girl was so predictable sometimes. But at least it meant that she kept things simple as far as her wants go. Looking at her little sister, Ash gave the cheekiest grin imaginable, “Hell yes~”
------------
“Come on you two,” he called coming back from the garage. He was headed up the stairs, but his voice carried well enough, “Dad’s going to grill because it's not too cold today. He wants us to grab some more meat and veggies, especially if Annie is coming.”
He went up to grab his keys and his wallet, plus the money his dad said was in his wallet on his dresser before heading back down.
“I’ve got the money. Ash’s your driving.”
------------
Sahara grinned at her sister and gave her a high five before rolling her eyes once more at her brother. “Come on, let’s go before he has an aneurysm.”
