It was taking too long. Each time she found one person on her list so much more time had spanned until she could locate the other. Some she never found and that was troubling. Casheel had warned her that may be the case, and they'd had to make due with what was found. Hy hadn't expected it to take months, almost a year, to find everything.
Everything was difficult again. The bit of reprieve Pendour had given her had been fleeting, though wonderful while it lasted. When the magic had finally faded, Hy spiraled quickly. The depression, anxieties, and nightmares were driving her into a darkness she hadn't experienced since before her stasis on her Wonder.
She had managed to find the last person on her list. Heard about him. Knew he existed. How long had it been since she'd confirmed it? It was hard to tell. Days and nights became one giant blob to her, as she restored to her only defense. The drugs were both a blessing and an absolute curse. She hated them. Hated she needed them, but need it had become. It was the only thing that staved off the voices that beat her down day and night. And when she'd finally had conscious thought enough to send that message it had taken far longer for her to respond with a confirmation of a meet up than she would have chosen if she'd been herself.
Sadly, being herself wasn't an option anymore. She needed to get by. The Earth Knight had barely managed to power up. Her body which had thrummed from the drug she had taken earlier was beginning to feel heavy, leaving her more tired than content. She made it though. Made it to the meeting place. She had no idea if she was on time, incredibly early or sorely late, but she made it to abandoned warehouse, just...not to the designated rooftop. It was too much.
Darkness was beginning to creep in and she cursed it and herself for her weakness and inability to just deal with it all.
He's not going to show anyway so why bother? All of this is pointless. Just accept whatever it is that was done to you. God would it stop? Hy pressed a hand against one of the dilapidated walls, hunched over practically gasping for air with her eyes closed as she tried to mentally outmaneuver the voices again.
It would just be easier to give up. She thought to herself as she sank to her knees, and rolled to rest her back against the wall, head cradled in her hands. Long wefts of red hair, clearly not as cared for a many would keep them, fell over her shoulders.Seiana_ZI I am so sorry, Encke has to deal with this. He's the last one though she needs something from! <3

Encke hadn't quite known what he was walking into, only that he was needed. To be needed by another member of Order to help restore an ancient recipe? That was enough to pique his curiosity just a bit more. He knew the Enckeans did not outright follow any other group or court or whatever may have been, but they did trade and associate openly with others. To hear that his people might have given something made sense, but he honestly couldn't be quite sure what it was. His world had a lot of plant life now, more than he had figured imaginable when he had started. Was it something currently on his comet? He could only hope. When he arrived, he had initially gone to where she directed: on the rooftop of the abandoned warehouse. No one was there, though, and he wondered briefly if he had misremembered something before noticing a nearby knight aura. Below him? Below him. And so, he descended. Encke made it to the bottom floor and pursued the aura, slowing and coming to a stop when he saw a redheaded Earthan knight all but curled up on the floor. The long red hair gave him an echo of familiarity as he slowly inched closer. Had she gotten hurt on the way there? Had someone drained her? If that was the case, he had plenty of extra energy to give-- "Hy-Brasil?" Encke kept his voice light. "Encke. Are you alright?" Kolina it'll be for the best in the end!!

She hadn't even heard him approach. Didn't even catch his aura. Her awareness was so inward as she fought against demons no one but herself could see or hear. But when Encke spoke, Hy-Brasil's head snapped up, her breath catching as she practically scrambled against the wall to stand up. Her heart pounded as she forced herself to focus on what was actually a round her and what the danger was and...
She let herself lean heavily against the wall again when she realized there was no real danger. Her chest heaved from the exertion and surprise as she attempted to reign in the mess of red hair from her face so she could see the Knight a bit more clearly. As clearly as her drugged self would allow.
She blurted out softly. "Yes, I am Hy-Brasil. Sorry I didn't meet you at the exact location." A heavy blush from either embarrassment or her state of being was warm. Hot even. Her uniform making her feel even that warmer with the furs, leathers and tight laced fabric. What time was it anyway? Loosing time was easy on days and nights like this. She pressed a hand to her forehead. The coolness was delightful.
Focus!
Hy took a breath, dropping her hand. "Not the way I intended any of this, but I have a problem that has had me on a scavenger hunt for months." Licking parched lips she forced sherif to stand a bit straighter, hands on the cool building behind her to steady. "I know we've never met before, but I am hoping you can help."

Was she ... was she drunk? Encke had trouble blaming anyone for the vices they took on in the face of Chaos. They had a lot to deal with and no clear end in sight; as much as alcohol and intoxication and sips had never been his own vice, he could see how people ended up there. He worried, though, not for himself but for the knight he was facing; how bad was her support system? Was this a regular day or just a particularly hopeless one that needed some backup? Was it alcohol or was it something entirely else? There was a look of worry on his face momentarily, but he swallowed it down and put on a different face: a cordial smile of an expression that was charming enough to entertain interviewers and news anchors alike. "It's alright. Do you need anything?" If it was drunkenness, he knew a symptom was dehydration. An idea he had in part taken from Murikabushi, he plucked a spare water bottle out of his subspace pocket and offered it out to her. "And it's not a problem, really. You mentioned there might be something on my comet than can help." At that, Encke shot Hy-Brasil a grin. "Always willing to lend a hand, especially with space things. Do you know what we're looking for? My world blossomed to life so I may have a fairly good idea of where it is already, even if it's just a description." Perhaps especially if it was a description. Enckeans, he had realized, had a way of naming things very much what they were. He wasn't sure if they sounded more charming in Enckean, but--

Hy glanced at the offered water and she couldn't stop the -tsk that slipped from clenched teeth. "I look that bad." It wasn't a question. She knew. She knew, but didn't particularly care. Not then. Not when she was living day-by-day just glad she made it through. That this touch of chaos didn't have her sending her starseed back to the Cauldron. It was so close some days. Her worse days.
She leaned forward and took the offered water, twisting the cap and chugging down some of the contents. It was blissfully cool as it slid down her throat. The sensation peaked even more thanks to the drug. All sensations were just that much more enjoyable. Easier to loose herself to them and just focus on the physical aspects of herself than what her mind kept trying to show or tell her.
Did she need anything? That was such an interesting question considering the point she had asked him here. But... She blinked at him, forcing herself to focus again on him and not the stucco wall behind her that pulled just a bit at the sleeves of her dress or how the wall was quickly loosing it's coolness to the heat of her own body. "No. Well, yes." She paused a moment closing her eyes with a breath.
"To make a long story short I am having issues with my Wonder. Been for...years." It was still odd to say that. Literal years had passed by and to her it felt much shorter than that. "And it's affecting me. I am hoping a tincture might help."
She reached into her own subspace and pulled out a well beaten piece of paper. She handed it off to him to see for himself. Some items were scribbled out, others check marked off (Richtersvelt-Tea Blend, Onnie-Onnie Buttercup, Pendour lavender, etc). 'Encke - small chili-like peppers' was the only thing on the list not marked. She wouldn't need the list anymore anyway. There was no harm in someone else seeing it. "I am hoping that what I've managed to gather will work." She said as she let her head lean back against wall to glance up at the star spotted sky. Even in the city, some rays of light managed to poke through the light pollution and twinkle above.

I look that bad.Well, he didn't want to lie to her, but he had a feeling that reinforcing it wasn't quite the right answer. He resisted answering her directly, instead projecting his agreement with the look of relief he wore when she did go ahead and suck down the water. Anything would help at least fight off the after-effects of the alcohol, even if water wasn't exactly a cure-all. Maybe he should consider carrying something starchy and fairly absorbent like potatoes in the future, too... That was something he had learned at his wedding to Richard. Having a potato bar had done something miraculous considering they had an open bar. People have clearly gotten drunk but no one seemed lost in the world... Encke caught the way she denied needing help, but shifted quickly to the reason why she definitely needed help, the reason why she asked him there. Well, alright. If helping fix her tincture was a way to help her, he would do what he could to fulfill that. It helped that he wanted too, anyway; he hadn't been lying when he said anything to do with space was something he was eager to help with. And his comet was restored enough that-- "Hey, Pendour. She's a good friend of mine!" -- that he knew immediately what she was referring to. "I know what you're talking about, I think. They're not truly chilis, considering they're on a foreign comet, but I think they're close enough. They're thin and blue and they pack a punch." Encke offered his hand out to her. "Bet we can go pick a couple and see if you can make them part of your blend." Hopefully, he had the final piece. Seemed like she had everything else.

At the mention of Pendour, Hy smiled. "She helped me quite a lot." Pendour's magic, while it hadn't been long lasting, the moments of clarity it had brought the Earth Knight had been priceless. Truly. She hadn't felt so much like herself since the day she reawakened on her Wonder. Unfortunately, that bit of time had been fleeting as well. Every time she managed to gain a measure of her normal self it was always so short. It made her wonder what was her normal anymore? How much of herself would she get back when this was all said and done? Some of it? None of it?
A heavy darkness loomed in the back of her mind, pushing her to spiral down that thought path. She closed her eyes against it for a minute. Two. Took a few deep breaths to try and center herself.
She was so tired.
As Encke spoke she opened her eyes to see him reach down to her, and Hy visibly sagged with relief. "I am sure those are it then." He was going to help. The end was in sight. She just needed to push through this.
"Thank you." Unbidden and much to her embarrassment and chagrin, her eyes watered. She brushed away at them with the sleeve of her uniform before taking his hand. Carefully she rose up from her sitting position, loosing balance for only a moment or two before steadying herself with the wall.
She gave Encke a look that was full of promises that she'd be fine even though she knew she was anything but right now. The promise of the final threshold coming was an incredible motivator though. She'd push through. Not that she had much choice in the matter because much longer and she may not see it to the end.

"Pen's very helpful, really." Encke loved Pendour, really, and he wouldn't deny that if asked. Good friend was almost an underestimation of what their friendship was--they had gotten through a lot together and partially because of each other as well. Anyone who had been touched positively by Pendour reinforced what he liked so much about her, and he appreciated that other people were getting to see that now. He watched as she closed her eyes and breathed, waiting patiently for her to center herself and come back to the present. When she did, he didn't hesitate to take her hand. "No problem at all, really." Encke's smile in turn was sheepish. "Any way I can help." No, it was true, she didn't look good. And he saw the beginnings of those tears. Whether her eyes were watering with exhaustion or of sadness--and he suspected both--Encke knew that he had to find something on his comet. He knew it had to be the adjacent-to-chilis peppers. They grew in abundance on his thriving world, one he wasted no time in taking her to after returning the smile of promises. The sky above them, in its relative darkness minus the always moving stars, hinted at where they were by itself. "Don't recommend looking up unless you handle vertigo fairly well, or can visualize the stars like fast-moving clouds." Encke laughed as a spark of lightning flew above their heads. "Welcome to Encke's Comet. We're relatively close to the original garden Pen helped me with, follow me?" He gestured for her to follow him down a repaired stone walkway, heading toward a thriving garden with little bolt bees and lightning flies flitting about.

She was incredibly grateful to Encke with how he dealt with...well, dealt with her. Hy was very well aware how vulnerable she was. How close she was to just saying '******** it all' and let fate finish it. But, what she thought fate wanted (her ultimate demise) seemed to be the opposite, as the Knight reached out to take her hand and sweep her away to his planet.
The Wonder she found herself on was as different from the others as each and everyone was different to Encke. If she had been up to it, maybe she would have found some similarities, but it was enough work keeping herself awake, focused and engaged in the here and now to worry about small intricacies.
At the mention of the sky though, she couldn't stop herself. It was like an involuntary reaction and she regretted it almost immediately. "Right." She said, catching her breath while the whirling of the sky played in her mind. Thankfully it had only been the briefest of glances. She was spared from the promised vertigo sensation. "Noted." She said as he began to walk off.
"Pendour helped you set up a garden here?" Pendour was quite helpful to many people it seemed. The woman had been incredibly warm and kind. Certainly it was in the other knight's nature. "I am not terribly surprised since her own garden was incredibly well cared for and expansive."
Her eyes shifted to the insects that floated about. The garden was definitely thriving here as well if the small creatures were of any indication. It was a well balanced ecosystem and Hy let herself enjoy just -being-. The greenery helping push away the darkness that continued to haunt her mind, lying in wait to pounce.
"How long has this garden been around?" Small talk. Something to help keep her focused, but it also allowed her to dive a bit into Encke. Learn some things.Seiana OMG SO sorry this took so long!

"I've gotten used to it, but don't recommend it to new arrivals, really." It had been something he had actually started to love fairly early on. It was unique to Encke's Comet, a place that zoomed around the sun within a few years again and again. Not impossible for others to deal with, of course, just... New. Talking about Pendour again was just as easy as breathing. "She did. Gardening was never necessarily my expertise as much as the rest of this reconstruction became. She loves gardens. It worked out, I think. My comet took to it, too, and some of the native plants started growing here too as everything else came back." So much else. He let himself admire it for a moment, his eyes tracking one of the small lizards that wormed its way through the soil. How long had the garden been around? It depended on what state of the garden she was referring to, to be honest; there had been a rocky soil patch of some sort before they and Pendour really started working on it. But at what point did they actually start working on it? ... Damn. "Think Pendour and I really dived into working on this in 2018. So it's been...four years running? I've been working on this world since 2011 or so, though." That definitely dated him. He wasn't sure how many senshi were in their thirties, to be honest. "The peppers should be this way. I've tried to cultivate them to stay in one area; make them easier to keep an eye on eh?"
