{Theriar 1}

Theriar was out scouting for young people to help fill out his "nieces" crew of would be pirates. He had agreed to teach them what they needed to know in return for portection from other ship stealing pirates. If you can't beat em, make your own." Besides it had been all Kechiri's idea.
He had thought it a good one and was organizing a crew to man the ship he had gotten for this purpose. It had been an investment but would be well worth it in the long run while he expanded his fishing fleet. Once trained the local pirates could capture other pirate ships and build themselves up and seeing as how they were all but family, he wouldn't have to worry about Kechiri turning on him at a later convinient time depending on how her morals swung and what the weather was that day.
Once a captain, always a captain.

He spotted a young man at a table close to the one he was being led to for a well deserved meal and ale. He wondered if the lad had a solid placement or would he be willing to join a budding pirate crew run by a competant but crazy captain in training. For now Theriar was the real captain while they all learned what they would be doing on board the ship and how the intricacies and subtleties of piracy worked.

Once his ale had come and he had taken a few contemplative sips, he turned to the young man behind him. "What brings you here laddy? Besides the excellent ale and food?"

"No indeed, I'm from Matori, believe it or not. Names Theriar, my pleasure to meet you." So far anyway, one could never be to careful with strangers. But the lad wasn't staring at him goggle eyed like a few gentleman and one woman in the pub so he would take what he could get. The lad was also young like the crew he was in the process of putting together. "Fancy an extended vacation?" He probed gently, if the lad wasn't interested he need not push it or give out more information than needed at this early stage. He was looking for pirates but not pirates, just pirates to go after other pirates not merchantmen. He wanted protection for his ship not to start a smuggling ring.

"That is a bit rough, I admit, could always try your hand at fishing, or something along those lines, never go hungry but you might tire of sea fare at some point." Even he sometimes got tired of fish and yearned for different fare.

"The position I have open pays, maybe not great initially but it can get ...lucrative perhaps, proportional to skill and experience. It will require hard work but you will be challenged nicely."
It was a delicate balance, negotiation. He didn't want to spook the lad if it was work not to his liking, preferring to melt away and try again to fill out his young friends crew. It was best for all to learn together, it helped create a solid working unit.

"Travel, a few perks, various skill sets to be learned."

"Three months with possibility of extension so long as folks get along and are hard workers and are happy, thats always important." He liked the questions the other male asked, Theriar could tell he was intelligent and seemed adventurous which was also needed.

"Its a lot of learning to sail as a unit and protection detail against pirates for my own fishing fleet, I'm assisting until my budding captain graduates to her own command then I will head back to my fishing fleet." He was in the process of finishing two new ships, one for himself and one for Kechiri. Two ships would bring in more fish and they needn't fish in the same areas either. He was going to need another captain for the other fishing boat but there was time to find one.

"Some of the local Matori waters that are rich in fish are rich in other things, it draws pirates to collect coins from the bottom and to loot looters of their own. The ships sometimes have to go a bit further out than is comfortable to get to the best fishing reef dropoff areas.
"I myself had my mainship stolen once." He had replacements now but it did not cure the mournful look on his face. "She was old but she was mine and they just up and stole her, I had to abandon ship or die. Now Im a bit paranoid, hence the protection.
It was still a sore memory nevermind that it had happened a few ships ago. It stuck in his craw just a bit.

"Well yes, precisely." He said, glad that the lad could read between the lines a bit too. Seemed like smart folk, which would be good for the crew if he chose to take the job. Theriar could but offer and seek good matches to help man Kechiri's ship the Sea Wasp.

"You er won't be bored I'm sure."
