It was a senshi. Because of course it was a senshi. And this one was cute...because of course she was cute.
“Halloween’s long over, you know. It’s after Christmas too…so like…I don’t know. I know that the stores put out the next season of things before this one ends, but that should put us into summer, not halloween again. Guess that means you should have a change in outfit…maybe try something in a nice black? My girlfriend did that, you know, got a shiny new uniform and it did her so well…I’m sure I could arrange something for you. Keep you relevant?”
It wasn’t what Wavellite normally did. It was so much easier to just attack with senshi. Just start swinging her sword around and hoping that it connected with soft flesh but…
She was weak when cute girls were concerned. And even more so when the girl had green hair.
“You know, we kind of look alike-ish. I’ll even throw in a free sister, that’s me, by the way if you say yes! Look at that. Deal of the century.”

Sinistra frowned at the Negaverse soldier, though her irritation was difficult to hide. She tried to be polite at all times, and look for the compliments rather than the insults, but some people just led off with such rude statements, it was very hard for her to not take it personally.
Even if technically, it was right. She was out of season now. Not that there was never a need for brooms. The witch theme was a bit weighted, of course, and there was no arguing that.
"I think I'll pass, though I do appreciate the thought and offer. I just can't seem myself in something so drab, nor could I justify acting so disrespectfully, without any reason. I'm sure you don't mean to come off that way, and I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but it's a bit much, don't you think?"
The Super Senshi of Brooms was feeling a bit more comfortable in these situations, at least, with all her training under her belt. Fighting Merlinite, and then Carlisle, under the watchful and guiding eye of Camelot had done wonders for her confidence. For the first time, she noted quietly, she did not feel a trace of fear.
It made her smile, even while staring down an enemy.

“I doubt it would end up as something drab, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Negaverse Senshi who was drab. Stylish is more like, honestly. My girlfriend got a whole lolita dress, she’s like a real princess, and not to toot my own horn, but I am prime sister material.”
Wavellite was trying to keep her voice light, inviting. Her hand twitched though, and the urge to just summon her sword into it…to run this senshi through for refusing her…it.
“I apologize about calling you out of season, I suppose that was a little rude, and if that’s the only thing holding you back, I promise, I’m not rude. I just like to tease, and I’ll watch what I say if it hurts your feelings.” Reaching out the hand that so desperately wanted to be holding her sword, the Captain gave a smile that was half forced, half hopeful. “I’ll ask again! How about it? Come back with me, it’ll be good for all of us!”

Sinistra looked anxious for a moment, still not the best at being combative in verbal situations. Camelot, as it turned out, was terrible at witty pre-fight conversation, and thought Carlisle did his best to teach them both, he could do nothing to instill a talent that neither of them was born with. Camelot was too warm a soul, and, though she would never tell him to his face, a bit of a dork.
Sinistra herself was well aware of the fact that she was a dork as well, socially inept in most ways and terrible at picking up cues and understanding what they meant beyond the very surface. She was smart, but only as far as reason and books went: things like sarcasm and improvisation were outside her comfort zone.
Her very small comfort zone.
"I find lolita a little creepy, and I'd hate to lose my colors. I'm sorry, I just don't think fashion is a good enough reason to abandon all morals, and everything I believe in. I'll have to pass, for the last time, Completely-Random-Stranger that I definitely do not want to call a sister for any reason. But... uhm..."
She grimaced, hearing herself and thinking it was coming out a bit harsh. She offered an apologetic smile, scuffing her shoe against the ground uncomfortably. She had her hands behind her back, wondering if she should call for backup, but for now simply kept them there to avoid touching the Captain.
"I uhm. I will. Stop you from hurting anyone else, or taking any more energy. In... in the name of Sinistra, and Earth."

The smile finally fell from Wavellite’s face, though she still waited for at least a few moments, hoping that there would be a ‘just kidding’ uttered by the senshi, but…nothing of the kind happened. The sword she had been itching to summon did finally appear in her outstretched hand, and the smile returned, though it looked far more strained than it had before, and the expression in the Captain’s eyes was icy.
“You’re serious then? You think that you can stop me from…hurting people? I suppose I could lie and just say that I don’t hurt people, but the truth is, I do. And you know what? I like it. I like taking energy. I like taking starseeds. I like taking their money after I’ve taken their energy or starseeds, and I really, really like introducing ungrateful senshi to the point of my saber here. Would you like to have a special meeting? Just for you!”
For the girl who was making a poor choice. For the girl who wanted to fling insults. Who had just. Said that she didn’t want to be her sister it…
It had been a good offer…and. It would have made Wavellite happy to have a sister.
But now? Now she had a taste for skewered senshi.
Without another world, she moved, thrusting the sword forward, not caring where she aimed, just aiming for the general area of white that kept flashing before her eyes.

Sinistra tensed. She had been training for this, and had not let her guard down despite her struggles with being witty and confident. Where she lacked prowess in rapier wit, she made up for it in solid footing and a keen eye.
The attack was straight forward. Almost wild. This Captain was very upset, Sinistra noticed, though she could not fathom why. She had tried to be as polite as she could, though it was always difficult when speaking with someone so starkly opposed to everything Sinistra herself fought for. Innocent lives, and the rights of people to choose their fates, rather than be forced. Corrupted. It was an ugly word for an ugly concept.
She would never allow it to happen to her. The training was not just to support others and rescue the weak: it was to protect her own light.
Stepping to the side, Sinistra raised her hand and quietly called her magic to her. For now, she did not call out an attack, magic glowing around her hand before a broom, like one easily purchased at a large retailer, appeared against her palm. She wrapped her hand around the staff like it was a solid object, but she couldn't use it for any kind of combat. It was made of pure energy, her own, and anything but her hand would pass straight through it.
It had other uses, though.
She continued her side movement, darting low and keeping her focus on her footing and speed. She got around the blade, keeping just enough distance to round on the Captain and then swing her broom in as powerful a sweeping motion as she could.
"Sonic BROOM!" she yelled, as a powerful burst of air rushed forward from the broom and slammed into Wavellite. It was pure force, enough to send her off her feet, and into the nearest hard object if Sinistra could get lucky.

Stupid. Senshi were so stupid. Wavellite felt utterly annoyed that not only had she missed, but that she was getting attacked with the girl’s magic to boot but…
Well. She did enjoy knowing what senshi could do didn’t she? It was how she had met Dresda in the first place…and it was nice to just have that knowledge. “So. Senshi of Brooms? Explains the witch costume.”
The words rung out as the magic threw her backwards, though the Captain was gone before she hit the tree that was behind her, teleporting at the last moment and vanishing into the night.
Nobody had to know that she had lost a fight…and a possible recruitment…she had some information on a senshi and that…was almost worth more than a live person. Kind of.
It sounded good at the very least, and sometimes that was all you could do.

Sinistra breathed a sigh of relief when the Captain disappeared. It meant the fight was over, the aura not immediately returning. She had run off, Sinistra supposed, but with how worked up she had been it was not too surprising. Maybe she had realized she could not win a fight in that state? Even if the Senshi of Brooms wasn't as confident about that.
She was glad she had not prove herself any further, at least, looking at her magical broom and smiling softly. It had actually been pretty fun, using it in an actual attack effort, rather than just to knock someone over and run away. Carlisle told her there were plenty of ways to apply her magic, though Camelot stuck to his lessons of defense and fighting only when absolutely necessary.
She generally stood between the two sides, opting for a cautious, but offensively balanced, approached. It seemed to finally be working, and it was nice to have figured out her style. A little, at least. Letting her broom disappear, she decided to go and take a rest. Maybe she could find a little place to get some food before heading back home.
A little celebration, even if it was alone.
