Morgan shouldn't have stayed so late in the chem lab, she hadn't meant to stay of so late the most of the cars in the parking lot were gone. It made her feel a bit uneasy ... it was hard to ignore all the rumors and wild stories that this city brought about.
She was in a rush when she had parked and now she didn't see her car, she thought she parked in G lot, but maybe it was J. She wasn't sure, but G an J weren't terrible far apart, so she started walking quickly hoping to get there as fast as she could.
She shivered in the cold January night air. She loved her internship, but really need to work on her tendency to get caught up in what she was going. She really should have left two hours ago.
A shadow, caught her attention in her peripheral vision tensing and moving more quickly only briefly over her shoulder.

Captain Crocoite had many plans brewing in his head, but nothing could ever really take priority over his quota. He could not raise any red flags, and honestly he was not looking to rock the boat. Quite the opposite. He was looking to bring an end to someone he thought was incredibly damaging t o the Negaverse, and Chaos in general. And maybe he had always felt a bitterness and rivalry with her, even when she brought him into the fold, and this was just his way of paying her back for the favor.
The dark power was something he had always craved, but answering to anyone was beneath him. He struggled, every night, with the idea of following his orders like a puppy, while simultaneously working to free himself of those that would order him around.
Patience was the most powerful weapon he had. Waiting under the surface of the water, just watching for his prey to show their weakness. That was his specialty.
And so he was on 'patrol' tonight, as all good soldiers would do. He was looking for energy, or maybe even a starseed if he could get lucky and not cause a fuss. Still, he felt the reliance and focus on starseeds was at dangerous levels, and that much wanton murder would never do them good in the long run. Even he, with his penchant for torture and losing deals. had to slow his role a bit. Temper himself, and settle for energy.
But easy targets, all alone, were just so tempting. He saw a girl walking alone, and he easily fell into step behind her.
Camelot had only just powered up, but he immediately felt that tingle in the corner of his mind. He turned, realizing he was quite far from it at the moment, but he knew what it meant. Someone was readying to awaken. While he did not normally interfere, he liked to be near, just in case they needed his help, or if, once they awakened, they needed advice. So he began to move, hoping he would not be too late to whatever event would spark the awakening.

Morgan knew for sure after a few moment that someone was following her, but why? She pulled her coat and hood more tightly around her, holding her bag strap more closely too her. She wondered if she would be robbed and the thought made her move more swiftly forward, her boots clicking more audibly again the pavement with her hurried movements. She was speedwalking, almost powerwalking at this point, wishing her twin was with her, wishing she hadn't stayed so late and scared.
She didn't think security would follow her so quietly, no making their presence know and she was to shaken to turn around and find out. She frowned telling herself mentally to just keep going.
She woved through the cars and of course she tripped, hitting the ground hard and scraping her hands. She frowned scrambling to get up and finding herself confused to see a star shaped fan on the ground in front of her. It was beautiful and despite her current predicament she wondered if someone lost it, as she reached for it.

Crocoite watched as the poor civilian started to figure out, just from the tension in the air and perhaps the intensity of his stare, that she was in danger. It was always fascinating to see, and it almost always happened. Something, just 'something', tipped off a civilian's senses when they were being followed. They moved faster. They took different paths. They put themselves in even worse situations than if they just went straight home.
Instinct put them in danger.
He saw the civilian run, and moved to take off after her. There was no way she could out run the Captain, of that he was certain, and he did enjoy playing with his food every now and then. Moreso, in fact, as time went on and he grew more comfortable with his hunts.
Camelot, however, was much faster. He moved to intercept the Negaverse soldier, not even seeing who it was, to protect the fallen new Page while she found her weapon and powered up. The green light that exploded from his shield masked the light from her weapon and transformation, and the pain that seemed to light Crocoite on fire from the inside out was more than enough to throw him off the hunt for a few moments.
By the time he had collected himself, all the lights had faded, and he was laying prone on his back on the sidewalk. Camelot was at the new knight's side, offering her his hand and a gentle, encouraging look. The Captain was most certainly not done fighting with them, but there was no way he could out maneuver the two of them.
"It's okay," Camelot said to her softly, the eye of the dragon on his shield still glowing softly, "you're safe. Can you stand? What's your name? Your new name."

Touching the fan resulted in a new outfit and a new name and seeing as how it was January when Pamukkale sat up she was shivering. She looked down at her outfit, a pretty gown that exposed a lot of her legs. She frowned looking up at the man and taking his hand. She looked in absolute awe because of the outfit though the look turned to one of confusion.
"I'm Pamukkale," she said almost to soft likely for Camelot to here.
"Thank you for helping me, but ummm what's going on? What is all this she said waving a hand her dress and then his outfit. Who are you ... you looking like a king?"
Her words were soft spoken, but the confusion came across all the same. She forgot her manners in the moment, but the situation was something so different.

Camelot felt immediately bad for the poor new Page, and once she was on her feet he quickly unhooked his massive cloak and draped it around her shoulders to help with the cold. It was way too snowy and miserable out here to be newly powered up and unused to a new outfit.
"Pamukkale," Camelot tried, nodding his head and doing his best to commit it to memory. He might have to hear it a few times, but he was not in the position to distract himself too much in that moment. He had a Captain to keep an eye on, and a new Page to welcome.
"My name is Camelot, Royal Knight of Earth," he said carefully, bowing his head, "at your service. This is all very strange, and we'll be able to talk about it a bit more when we're free of our guest, but just know that you are the holder of a new power. It was given to you because it found you worthy, and capable. You are what is known as a Knight. Or, right now, a Page. The first step as a knight. Ah, here he comes."
He turned, taking one step to make sure he was safely between the Page and the very angry looking Crocoite.
"Get out of my way," the Captain barked, not looking hurt despite how he had been brought down and writhing moments before. "What? There's two of you now? Where did the civilian go? Damn it, you knights are infuriating! I will not rest until all of your starseeds are mine!"
Clearly, he was outnumbered now, and his prey was gone. He backed up a step, before he vanished completely. Camelot waited a moment, then breathed a soft sigh when the Chaos aura did not return. He was gone, and they were alone, for now.

Pamukkale was very grateful for the cloak that helped to ease the chill of the winter night. She looked so confused when he said he was Camelot. "Like the place with King Arthur??"
She listened to his speech and felt the weight of his words, a certain responsibility. This was all so confusing, but was interesting ... she was worthy and capable. The words echoed in her head and she gave him a firm nod. She didnt know what to do put to except it.
When Camelot stepped in between him and a pretty angry man, dressed oddly as well, though not so extravagantly as them. The man wasnt making any sense and she wondered what a starseeds was, but that thought disappeared when he did.
"How ...," she started before pausing, "there was a feeling before its gone now."
She looked at Camelot and realized he had a feeling too, "weird. This is a bit overwhelming."

Once Crocoite rage quit and left, Camelot turned to look at Pamukkale and offered her an apologetic smile.
"There's a lot to explain. But first, yes. My name is the same as the place King Arthur ruled over. That is my Wonder, and I am a knight of Earth. Your name is based on a place, as well, though maybe not as easily recognizable as the one I ended up with." He chuckled. Everyone he met, save the space aliens, seemed to know what Camelot was. It made some things a lot easier.
It also opened a lot of room for teasing, but he had gotten used to every joke.
"When you felt that strange feeling, you were sensing that Negaverse soldier's aura. Aura's are very important, as they can tell you about danger that is approaching, or about a problem further away that might need your attention. You are a protector now, when you are powered up like this. The Negaverse use their powers to prey on the weak, and steal their energy, even their lives, for use in their plans to, ultimately, reclaim the Earth. We do what we can to prevent them from hurting the innocent, and our allies."
He took a breath, thinking things over.
"It is a lot to take in all at once, but we can easily split it up into smaller lessons, if you'd like? I can teach you the basics, and answer whatever questions you might have, but in a more comfortable setting and maybe a less stressful time. For now, how about we focus on how you feel. Are you okay?"

Pamukkale looked up and nodded leaning against the car beside her. Her expression was intent, as if she was keen on taking in all that she could. She had seen a lot of impossible things in the last several minutes and if all this was real than she didnt want to be caught unware.
She nodded a couple times through his explanation holding onto the cloak and wondering how she was suppose to help in all this. Where did she fit in the scheme of things, so new and lacking in experience with any of this.
She stood up straightening up, "I would like that Camelot sir. Im glad this all happened when you were about. I would have been very unprepared for that ... um captain."
She nodded when he asked if she was okay, "yes I am fine, Ive only scraped my hands a bit, nothing to terrible. Thank you for letting me borrow your cloak to warm up ... is there no way to assure I will be more covered for the winter at least?"
It was probably the most important thing to know for next time this happened, during the other seasons this would be fine, it was rarely below 50 in those seasons, but in winter, this wouldnt do.

Camelot smiled, nodding his head.
"Thankfully, I've been given the power to sense when a Page is reaching their potential and about to awaken, so I was able to get here in time. A Captain is one rank about you in power, and with you being brand new, it could have been a dangerous situation. That Captain, in particular, is pretty mean, so I'm glad I got here to help." Camelot chuckled, knowing Crocoite would not be taking this particular defeat very well.
For some reason, the two kept crossing paths, and it just made the Captain angrier and angrier.
"If you leave a coat or a cape to the side when you power up, you can wear it after you've donned your costume. Unfortunately, our uniforms only change when we power up in rank, as our power grows, and we do not get much say in what we've given to wear. When we power up we are granted boosts to our strength and the magic will protect you a little, but even so. I do recommend bringing a coat if you're patrolling at night."
He was one of the lucky ones, though his armor could be a bit much in the summer. Even then, it was not as bad as some of the other fukus and armors he had seen out there.
"I can teach you how to power down, if you'd like, and escort you home."

Pamukkale thought she was very lucky to have been found and kept from a possibly more unfortunate incident with the Captain. "I'm really glad you were here to help as well. Thank you. Thats a really neat ability."
She was taking it in stride, but also not one hundred percent understanding the full magnitude of the situation. Not realize he could have seriously hurt her.
She was happy to hear that she could wear a coat, and assumed it would work with any article of clothing or she hoped it would because she was like so leggings. She was amazed thinking about having magic, or more magic because she looked down at her beautiful outfit ... that had to be magic itself, it came from out nowhere.
"Yes please, I would apprecitate that. I dont need an escort home, but if you could walk me to my car. It not far, I think." She looked for a marker to see how far she'd gotten. She was in K now, "its just one more lot over."
Her thoughts were going a mile a minute, but currently the loudest thought was to find out more about Pamukkale. What was Pamukkale.

Camelot chuckled, nodding his head and waving off her numerous thank yous. He would always be there to support other knights, on their first days and well beyond. It was his duty, his one true promise to the world, and to the powers that had been granted to him.
Every day he was earning his rank, and giving back to Order.
"All you need to do is focus a bit. Clear your mind and think of what you were wearing before. The feeling of being yourself, and you'll power down. It will get easier and easier, until you barely need to think about it. When you need to power up, remember that feeling of your weapon calling to you, and instead, call it to your hand."
In example, Camelot powered down, though his large cape went with it when he did. A man in a tweed suit stood where the knight had been, watching the Page curiously. He smiled, nodding his head and leaning on his cane.
"Anthony Darrow, at your service. I run the local library in the center of town. If you ever need me, or would like to do a bit of research on your own, the library is always a safe place."
He was already shrugged out of his overcoat, just in case she was still cold when she powered down, and needed more cover. He was a gentleman first, after all, as that knightly chivalry had always been with him. Long before he had ever powered up.
