Prompt 3 (Holiday Blues): One day, in the very early morning hours, a strange, bluish fog rolls in. It floats low to the ground and is incredibly dense and incredibly cold. Anyone who inhales even a single breath from this fog will be met with a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. It’s the worst part of the holidays—the Holiday Blues. The fog slowly spreads through the town and is gone by mid afternoon, but the sensation of sadness, loneliness, and nostalgia may linger for longer than that. Scientists are explaining the bluish tint as just being a natural phenomenon, but in Destiny City, ‘natural’ isn’t really something anyone should expect. Today would have been a good day to stay inside.
Bellalunea had stayed up all night typing up her new novel idea since Sabrina had a sleep over or something with her best friend. She packed so quickly but yet she didn't forget to get hugs and kisses to bellalunae before she left. She never forgot about her no matter where she went or even if she was just going to bed. She was happy to have that kind of love even if it might leave one day for now was good. So she didn't really question much since she looked happy as she left and not only that. but she gave her a basket full of treats and toys before she left too. It was like her own little celebration and she wasn't even leaving her bed. It was the perfect thing for her writing spree though, which may be why she looked a little puffier than usual. All these snacks really did crazy things to ones fluffy belly, but she truly regretted nothing. It was all so delicious as far as the food went and the toys were so cuddly. Over all it was the perfect thing for a kitty writer like her. The only downside was waking up from it all. It was like a food and cuddles hangover. She felt so full and like she really didn't want to move even thought she knew she had to move.
Everything was so bright to her eyes and she hated it the most of all. Since bright things and her well they didn't get along very well. She liked the dark and light and dark don't mix very well. She jumped out of her bed, stretched her front legs out as far as they would go, it felt like the only thing going right was her stretching this morning. After that nice stretch she got ready to start the day finally even if she was up a little later than she had planned. All the book writing, snacks, and toys did her in last night and she couldn't believe it. At least she got some good writing in before she crashed, she thought to herself.
As she got her feet back in place from her stretching she quickly headed out the room door and began her walk down the hotel steps right outside of her rooms door. Once she got to the bottom of the stairs she hurriedly headed towards the revolving door entrance. She hated that door but it was her only way to get out of this place with these little fuzzy paws of hers. She weaved in and out of so many people, got petted a few times - despite her best tries to avoid that, and then she finally made it to the doors. They looked like heaven from where she stood, since It felt like it took forever but she was so happy to reach those doors. Even though she was tired she knew this exercise was necessary to keep her wits about her. After all she needed to do something after the crazy writing night she had last night.
With just that thought in her head she was eager to greet the day, or she was at least she thought. That was until she exited the door and was greeted with the grossest blue fog that had ever hit her in the face. The blue fog was so bright and disgusting to her. And again she did not like bright stuff - it was not her friend. Well not really the fog part per say, it was more that she really didn't like the color. If it was just the fog she could handle it - maybe. Might still get on her nerves a bit since it gets in her way. Overall she just wasn't a person into bright things and blue was definitely not something on her favorite color lists. That favorite color list mainly contained black and red on it. After all who didn't love those colors, dark and beautiful in her eyes.
She shook her head to quickly shake the thought of colors out of her mind. Once she did that she swatted her tiny paws in a small attempt to get the fog out of her vision. but the fog had other plans. The fog suddenly got so extremely cold she felt shivers head down her spine. She couldn't help but inhale some of the fog since it was all over, and that was when things took a turn for the worse. She felt her whole world was crashing down around her and she felt every single moment of it.
This fog for some reason was bringing up memories. Memories she wasn't sure if she wanted to remember, but this fog wasn't giving her a chance to choose. She could remember the first days of her being on the street, all alone. She had no one - no food - no bed - nothing but her. It was horrible. She felt so alone and she could remember her paws being sore for days. Since she knew she couldn't sleep, since she had to be a wake at every moment to watch her surroundings. Day and night she could feel that struggle and pain to force herself to stay awake. As she remembered tears filled in her eyes, and then the fog began to clear. That was when those feelings started to drift away and she was reminded of that smiling face that saved her. That smiling face that wouldn't take no for an answer, when she scooped her in her arms. The day she gained a "forever" family as some cats would call it. She had no idea why all those memories and feelings were rushing back to her. But she did know one thing and that was she needed to see her family pronto. So she gathered herself together and rushed home. Beyond happy that the people she called family were willing to take a chance on a little black cat like her.
