Prompt 9: Hostile Garlands
Festive garland has been hung all around the city. Destiny City has never skimped on their decor, and this year is no different. What is different is the way some of the garland seems to slither around the poles and arches it's hung on. Maybe it looks like an optical illusion at first, or maybe it’s just so strange that it doesn’t seem like it can be real, but it doesn’t take long to figure out that that’s not any ordinary garland–it has eyes, and teeth, and it’s the strangest looking snake you’ve ever seen but that doesn’t really matter when it’s attacking you. It is fast, and aggressive, and it blends in perfectly. Sometimes it seems like it’s five feet long, sometimes twenty; it doesn’t seem to have any venom, but its fangs are long and if it wraps around you it can be very constricting. There’s no telling what it wants, but it sure does seem to like to fight.
Note: The snake is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to count this for a battle. If you repeat the prompt with the same character, only one will count for a battle requirement. The snake will always disappear before it can be caught.


Amaterasu hummed happily to herself as she walked along the empty street with her sister. Snow crunched under the young girl's wooden sandal as she playfully marched along. The pair was out on patrol for any chaos beings causing trouble but Amaterasu didn't feel any bad guys near by so she wasn't exactly focus on the task as hand.

The whole street was decorated for the holidays, which Amaterasu loved. The lights were so pretty and made the street feel warm even when the actual weather was freezing. The garlands that were hung up caught her eye. She broke away from her sister and rushed over to one of the strands. "Nee-chan don't these garlands look weird!" She called out to her big sister. It almost looked like the garland had eyes.

She turned around to speak to her sister so she didn't see the garland begin to move. The green festive decoration moved like a snake lashing out in an instant it wrapped its body around the young senshi's neck and began to constrict as it lifted her off the ground. Amaterasu let a out a strangled cry, this was no decoration it was a monster. She tried to struggle out of the monster's grasp.
