Ushi 1
It was a new day of being out on the trail. It seemed like he was always searching for his daughter. He was still convinced that she was out there. He had just been about to get up when a rustling sound came from outside of his tent. his mount hadn't alerted him so whatever it was might not be a threat.
"Hello?" He asked curiously into the predawn light. A fine mist seeped at the edges of the tent opening.

Sae slithered her long, lithe body into the the distinct tent that her mate had insisted on dyeing himself. He had likened this sort of movement she did das cat like. She thought it was a fair enough comparison.
"Boo," She chirped at him before sliding herself in beside him. She pressed up close to his side, waiting for him to rearrange himself before she laid her head on his chest.

"Okay, fine, I won't get up quite yet."
He didn't want to admit that his heart quickened when he saw who it was invading his tent.
Arms now wrapped snuggly around her cool body, he pressed a kiss to her head.
"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise blacksmith?"
It was his pet name for her.

Sae grumbled an unintelligable response right into his shoulder. She might be a Mother, but there was something about this male when they were alone that seemed to bring out her inner feral child. She smirked, then bit him gently on the shoulder before making a pleased noise. She knew that he of all people would understand.

She really had no idea, exactly how adorable she really was. He cherished sweet moments like these when he could forget about everything except her. She was such a little fighter!
"Is that the long and short of it? You were just lonely? Or did our daughter chase you out of the house?"
Kechiri could be interesting to deal with sometimes.

She kissed him under the strong jaw he had inherited from his Father. "It wasn't Kechiri, I was just lonely, so I decided to join you out here in the wilds." She made a show of looking at her surroundings like it was a fine in and not just a tent pitched on the side of a mountain.

He really missed having her snuggled up against him like this. It was good to remember what they had; a strong unshakable bond with each other.
She was his other half, his warrioress, who settled for nothing less than she deserved. Which was him, obviously. She was his to love and he made sure she felt it.

All of her worries and cares melted away as he stroked a manly hand down her back. She nearly purred.
"I love it when you do that."
He mad her feel so at home. No matter where they were, and he continued to look for their daughter, never giving up.

"Do you feel less alone now love? You should join me, much more often." He kissed along her beautiful face. "I get rather lonely too, I always miss you, no matter how long I'm gone."
He crushed her against him. It was like he loved her more in that moment than he ever had, and that was saying something.

She gripped him back tightly , it had not escaped her how good his muscley body felt squished up against her. She dug her fingers fiercely into his hair and dragged her lips to his in a smouldering kiss. She smiled evily as he tensed.
"What is the matter Ushiwa?" She said sweetly, one hand running down his chest.

He widened his orange eyes, "Nothing Sae, nothing is ever wrong when you are in my arms." He leaned in and kissed her, sweetly at first, but with passion building over time, he cradled her head and rubbed a thumb gently over her temple. In his defence, she had come to his tent and had wriggled into his bedding. What happened after that...

She grinned against his lips. She had always been able to read him like a book. It wa sonly for her that he would leave himself vulnerable. She was his only weakness and she liked it that way, the walls he put up for other people melted before her like butter on a hot rock.
"Ushi.." she whispered then nipped him sharply on his ear.

He gasped and only firm mental control prevented him from bolting upright.
"Fang!." He used her old name as he sometimes did in private.
He rolled until he had her pinned beneath him. He looked deep into her eyes; searching and finding the woman he loved, looking back at him.

Her eyes twinkled back and this time she fisted her hand in his hair and kissed him. Answering the question that had wordlessly floated between them. (Were they ready to have kids again?) Yes, they were strong, they would weather this storm, circumstances be damned.
It was a long and enjoyable night and she felt joy rekindle again in her life.

She was fast asleep still in his arms when his eyes opened as the first birds began to sing their enchanting dawn chorus. He felt like he never wanted to move again, it was nice, after all these years, to know that some things didn't change. They still had each other, still loved, still held, still delighted in each other's company.
