It hadn’t been so bad…the whole stealing energy thing…not that Brooklyn had been the one to do the stealing but…helping the girl do it…it had been odd.

Honestly, the worst part was the time she had to distract the stranger, that had honestly left her feeling uncomfortable for a whole other reason and that was simply because the man had been leering at her and…

Ew.

Going out once more to meet her mystery benefactress had been something Brooklyn had thought about and fought with herself about during the entire week but…in the end she had gone, and here she sat on their bench once again, Atticus’...no, her coat closed against the chill, and her panda blanket draped across her shoulders to better protect against it.

If she didn’t get her dress this time…if she didn’t get something more substantial…this would be the last time she went out to meet the girl.

But if things went well…

Well, she’d obviously have to tell Elliot and Atticus…and maybe they could all do this together! The thought made her feel rather warm inside, and quite pleased.

Her experiment had been a perfect success.

Honestly, if tonight went as well as last week, Xenia would simply pop this girl off to Wavellite and get her all recruited. It'd be nice, neat, and probably a good way to apologize for her teensy weensy little ******** in the Rift.

Nott hat she liked thinking about that all that much. But maybe if she was lucky, no one remembere exactly who had pulled that particular stupid little stunt. Or whatever.

She teleported to the bench, and plopped down next to Brooklyn, all smiles.

"You were a huuuge help last week, you know that? Really, can't thank you enough. Made my job soooo much easier!"

Brooklyn watched her for a moment and raised her eyebrows, trying not to let the almost amused smile twitch onto her face, but failing at it, unfortunately. “...If I was such a huge help, did you bring me something as payment? A skirt maybe? Stockings? You know I’m in this for new clothes, and the least you could have done was started my new lovely lolita wardrobe.”

She wouldn’t admit that she liked hearing that she had done something right, but…it did make her feel a little gleeful. Praise wasn’t something that she was used to, at least not…something that seemed almost…genuine.

“Nothing comes from nothing you know, so did you bring me anything or do I have to work for you again with no payment?” She figured there wouldn’t be anything, but…Brooklyn had to ask, the worst she could be told was no, after all.

…Hopefully.

Xenia tapped her cheek. s**t, maybe she should have stolen some stockings or something to bring here--things that definitely would have fit, because guessing the wrong dress size would be a disaster.

"I didn't bring anything with me, but I'll take you out for something special after, alright?" That was fair, wasn't it? And even true! Since she'd be bringing her to get made into and officer! That was a pretty big, fancy gift, Xenia was pretty sure.

So, ha. That was that, clearly, perfectly smoothed over with no repercussions.

"So! We'll get everything all set and square after tonight, how's that?"

Brooklyn hummed and nodded, forcibly not rolling her eyes as she wanted to. “Fair enough, I guess…but next time you do this, remember that people don’t trust empty words for very long. You need to back your claims up with things. Just a humble warning for you.”

With how this had gone, she honestly thought that the girl might try the trick again, though, maybe not. Even if she did though…maybe she’d be smarter about it. Standing she nodded to the Lolita clad girl, wondering why she didn’t wear something new...perhaps that should have been a clue that things weren’t really as great as they seemed…her benefactress never actually changed dresses.

“Where to tonight, boss?”

"Warning taken and incorporated into my future plans," Xenia said, breezily. It was probably true that she'd be doing this again someday, so it was a good idea to...you know, take feedback, or whatever. She'd get better at this. Eventually, she would be a recruitment machine. Convincing other people everywhere to abandon their shitty lives in the White Moon and come with her, to the Negaverse.

She bounced up in a rustle of lace and silk, and started jogging off.

"Come on," she said, brightly, "follow me."

Brooklyn snorted and tucked her hands into the warm pockets of her jacket. “Yeah, all right.” The sooner they got started, the sooner it would be over and she could get back to the warmth of her dorm. She had a pack of pop tarts for a snack tonight, and the idea of the warm, smores flavored pastries was almost overwhelming as the wind blew, cutting through the blanket and her jacket.

“...Think we can go somewhere that the wind won’t be so bad? It’s really biting tonight.”

She didn’t expect her question to be answered by anything more than a half assed maybe but…still. Better to make a suggestion than to stay silent. “I’d be surprised if there was anyone out somewhere so exposed on a night like this.”

Xenia hummed, cheerily, as she led Brooklyn away. "Yeah, yeah, we;ll find somewhere a little more covered," she said, idly.

Somewhere nearby, there was someone on the other side. Ugh, on her level, too. How wildly inconvenient. She didn't want a fight when her little recruit was here, and might be in danger. But at least her magic could keep both of them safe, and she could teleport them out if things got too hairy.

So, she put out an arm to stop Brooklyn.

"Hold up. We might have some problems."

Dagon enjoyed the feeling of reclaimed power. It felt as if her magic was crackling at her fingertips, ready and eager to be used in a way it hadn't felt for a long time. It seemed that following that light, that pull, and coming to Earth had been exactly the right decision; after centuries of weakness, finally, her power was starting to return to her.

It felt good.

And so she wandered the streets, moving under cover of darkness and fog, and enjoying the beauty of this planet in its new season. The turn to chills and changing leaves, called "fall" or "autumn" here, reminded her of the climate of home, though there was far less fog rolling in. Perhaps because they were so far from the ocean.

Maybe, when she saved her world--and she believed, now, that she could and would--the fog there would return, as it ought to.

She could feel the aura of a Negaverse senshi nearby, and she frowned. Well, now more than ever, it was her duty to at least look in on this--see if it was someone like poor Tristan or her beloved, lost and misguided, or someone much more dedicated to Chaos's cause.

She found her way to them, with a frown on her face. There, in front of her, was a Corrupt Senshi in ruffles and bows, and behind her--

Behind her--

For a moment, Dagon's world stopped.

It wasn't possible. It had to be a coincidence. Some roll of the dice, of random chance, that meant that the girl before her looked...so....familiar. Looked like...

"Aralinn?"

The name slipped from her lips in a moment of stunned shock. But, no--Aralinn was dead. She knew that, had held her body in her arms. Butt his girl--her face, her eyes, her hair--

Of all the people that Dagon had thought to find reincarnated here on Earth, Aralinn was the last. She'd had so little hope of ever seen her daughter again, and yet--somehow--some way--she was sure.

A mother knew. A mother would always know.

So she turned her attention tot he Corrupt Senshi.

"Get away from her," she said, cold as ice, threatening as a growing stormcloud. Whatever it took, Chaos would not touch this girl--the one that looked so like the girl Dagon had lost, centuries ago.

Brooklyn didn’t enjoy the idea of any problems, and had stopped walking the moment the warning was given. Shrinking down a little, she tugged the blanket back up over her head and frowned slightly, looking at the source of the other voice…the obvious problem.

…the woman was blue.

Like. Seriously blue. Like, no oxygen or full body paint blue.

The blatant stare she gave was equal parts confused and…well. Revolted. People just shouldn’t be that color…it…it wasn’t right.

“...Is this some…early Halloween Party? Is that what’s going on? Lady, I don’t know anyone by that name…why are you blue?”

It might be rude but…honestly? She couldn’t quite help herself.

Whatever this woman was--whoever she was, whatever weird kind of Order monster--Xenia wasn't having any of it. A smile crossed her face--not a very nice one, but a smile nonetheless.

"Sorry, honey! Don't need your negativity all over everything! Bye, we're leaving now!"

She snapped out a hand, and grabbed Brooklyn's wrist where it was covered by the blanket, and focused, teleporting them away--to an alleyway she knew several blocks away, one that was well an out of this Senshi's way.

Perhaps she'd have to readjust her plans for tonight, a little bit.

"No, wait--" Dagon reached a hand out, and felt her heart clench. No, no, no this was all wrong--even if that girl wasn't Aralinn, wasn't her daughter reborn here on Earth, she was so young. Far, far too young to be held in Chaos's cruel grip. It made Dagon want to scream when the Senshi grabbed her, and she flung herself forward, hoping desperatley--but no.

They were gone. The girl had been stolen away before Dagon's eyes, and the thought of what might happen to her made Dagon's stomach lurch. What did the Negaverse do to create its abominable Senshi and false Knights? The ones they called officers? Had she doomed that poor girl to that fate, that prison?

Slowly, Dagon sank to her knees, the weight of grief rushing over her, crushing and dark.

It was like losing Aralinn all over again. Except this time, she was inches from being able to stop it. This time, it was entirely her own failure. No one else's.

Okay…so being teleported or whatever was…a very odd feeling and Brooklyn didn’t like it. At all.

In fact, this whole evening had her right on the edge of a tantrum and she tugged at her wrist until it was freed from the grasp of her benefactress. “...I’m not…sure what that was, both the blue lady and you…just…whatever you just did but…I think I’ve had enough of tonight for tonight…how about we rain check and just meet up again next week or something?”

Her hand was curled around her small phone, and she was glad that she had managed to get a picture of the strange blue woman, if only for proof so that she could tell Elliot and Atticus…obviously this had to be shared and pronto.

“...Maybe next week I’ll bring some friends with me and we can all get new clothes together.” It seemed fair, after all…this girl had strung her along for three weeks now…giving the three of them the magical powers or whatever…

It was only fair.

Without waiting for an answer, she turned on her heel and flounced away for a moment before breaking into a run. Tonight…

…Had been something. That was for sure.
