Would've been better, he thought, to teleport home. Crawl under the covers, cry for a while. Let Jada and Albite handle the rest. Let them decide what to do with a Dark Mirror nuisance and a train car full of emotional baggage. Let them decide if the team was to have any relationship with a nigh defunct Court. Faustite didn't want any part of it.

But it was his team, so they were his decisions. It was his duty to ensure they got what they needed, that they learned and grew, flourished as officers, one and all. Running away from it would set a shitty example.

His shoulders still carried the brunt of his tension as Eion. Dressed in the coat that Celadonite made for him, the well-trimmed black and flame echoed his officer's aesthetic, but the rest lacked that cohesion. Argyle leggings ended in a Sharpie nightmare of a pair of Converse, all of which had very little to do with the chipped metallic silver nail polish left over from a visit with another boy. Coal black hair lacking its flame gradient left him looking unburnt.

He looked — and felt — like he should've been kicked out of Jada's — Emmy's — apartment. Like something out of an Ikea magazine, whites echoed light from the great wall of windows, around which fresh linen curtains billowed. He considered sitting on the coffee table as he had at Waru's, but somehow, he suspected Emmy would shoo him off of it and relegate him to some other acceptable seating. He settled for the armless couch, which looked to him like a slab of upholstery with pillows acting as the back. Sitting on the very corner of it, he remained hunched and fidgety.

Felt like he needed to be drained, there was so much energy waiting to be spent. Eion sighed, picked at his nail polish while he waited for the remainder to file in.

He hadn't seen Aelius. Boy must've gone home. Commendable, given the injuries he'd sustained in that mess. But that particular mess was a tomorrow problem.

Eion's mouth pressed into a line, then he forced himself to speak. "Lot of you came up with good ideas. Jada's solved the problem, but some of the others identified an opportunity." Eion drew a long breath.

"Know some of you wanted to make him an ally. Know there's untapped benefit in it. Mole in the Court, maybe a working mutual relationship. Could be that one, or another. But before we make bedfellows out of anyone, you need to know about the Court itself. Need to know my history with it, too."

So they were coming to her house.

Emmy wasn't even sure she wanted that. It would have been one thing to watch a few episodes of Star Trek with a single person, but that had been ruined when everyone had started getting overly pushy with Murikabushi. Now it sounded like they were having a meeting, and Emmy was just not in the mood.

She wanted to scream into her pillow. She wanted to ignore Waru's texts until he was able to get it through his particularly thick skull that he'd done something wrong.

She was still a Captain, though, as much as she hated to admit that after she'd spent years serving the Negaverse. She still had to lick boots. She didn't always get to do what she wanted.

So, she opened her door to Eion, and to the others. The sleek white living room was spotless already. She didn't have to worry about that, and as Eion got started, she headed towards the kitchen to be even more of a proper hostess. She always ordered in, so she didn't have much in the way of food, but she did return with a decent amount of alcohol, and after a second trip, some cups to go with it.

It was mostly nice wines, but she there was also a bottle of scotch that she'd liked the shape of.

For herself, she poured a glass of rosé and downed it. She needed something.

It'd taken a little bit to make his way to the new place, since he chose not to avail himself of the Albite-express, but Trey made it in time to settle in with the others for the start of Eion's explanation.

The apartment was nice... Emmy, as she'd be introduced, was obviously someone who cared to keep a nice house. She dressed herself well too, and it went good way for putting Trey more at ease than he otherwise might have been. He could only imagine what it would have been like at Waru's place in contrast. The clean lines and light colors gave the whole place an airy feel, and he was particularly careful when he received a glass of wine not to do anything so crass as to spill even a drop of it on her pale furniture.

Settled into the couch, he draped one leg loosely over the other and leaned back to watch Eion. His own head tilted slightly and face smooth, he took note of the way his lips thinned and the words that came with reluctance. They'd never talked about things too personal, so he supposed it wasn't surprising he didn't know about this aversion to the Dark Mirror Court. None of it was something Trey himself had much experience in, but he absorbed all of it, filing it neatly away for later use. If he'd known before hand, he wouldn't have joined in on that offer, but at least now he did. He'd be more careful in how he approached interactions with this court, at least around Eion.

Tama took the teleport Albite offered, partly because he didn’t know where they were going — he hadn’t yet learned of most of his team’s personal lives. The other part was to ask Albite a favor.

“Could you check in on your husband after this impromptu meeting? He seemed a bit… off.”

The Mauvian’s compassion for the man was quite limited, but even he got a little uneasy when his superior officer had reacted to the Dark Mirror senshi the way he did. Despite the change of venue to a much nicer apartment, it only made his initial feeling worse. And then Faustite — or, rather, Eion — had to go and say:

‘But before we make bedfellows out of anyone, you need to know about the Court itself. Need to know my history with it, too.’

What was that supposed to mean? Well, he’d hopefully find out if the man was going to uncharacteristically open up for once.

As roosted on the back of the pristine couch (he at least tried to not get fur on the main parts), his feline stare never left Eion.

If Emmy was bringing out alcohol, and if Eion was going to talk about his own problems to a group of people who had more business not giving a damn and going about their lives than they did listening, then Eion was taking her up on her pleasant hostess manners. He took up a glass with its delicate stem framed between ring and middle fingers, swirling the glass absently as he reclaimed his spot on the edge of the not-couch.

The room was quiet. It left him antsier than usual; his leg bobbed of its own accord. Taking a long pull of red wine, he told himself it was time to start.

"Historically, the Dark Mirror Court was allied with the Negaverse. This alliance was dissolved before I joined; don't know what happened to precipitate it, but I suspect it has to do with the Court's lack of control over their members and… Mirrorspace," he finished, gesturing with the glass.

Eion paused, looked at his glass, then continued. "Dark Mirror Senshi are inextricably tied to Mirrorspace, which is like Negaspace — separate dimension, of a sort. Different in that everything's always changing — like a smoky room with tables, chairs, chandeliers one moment. Next, they're gone. Mirrorspace is the place they go when they step through a mirror.

"Like us, they need energy. Drain it using mirror wraiths, which come out of mirror shards. Don't know where they get those, but they're also tied to Mirrorspace. Normally, they're under control of the Dark Mirror Senshi that holds the shards.

"But, when I was a Lieutenant, the Court suffered a pair of escaped wraiths. Didn't listen to any of them, regardless of rank. Things rampaged and made a mess of everyone who fought them. Enough of their muck and I started having memories that didn't belong to me." He took another swig of his drink.

Clearing his throat, he added, "Later, they lost control of Mirrorspace, too. Started taking in anyone, Mirror Senshi or not. Processed us through some ******** up relay race, swallowed people who failed, then spat the rest of us out again, some amount of energy lighter. None of them ever offered an explanation for it — just stood behind their own uncultured ineptitude like that was supposed to absolve them of everything.

"Understand it like this: They're tied to a force they can't control, which provides no structure but for the power that constantly suffuses them. It demands nothing but energy, and can betray them at any time." Wordless went the implication that Metallia has done nothing of the sort to the Negaverse.

"As a Captain, I got mixed up with one of their kind. Thought he was a nice boy. Realized he wasn't, pulled away from him, but I'd let him know who I was. Stalked me, stalked my family, my boyfriend at the time. He… Killed my dad and brother. Had to bring my boyfriend into the Negaverse to protect him. Then Axinite gave me a new glamour. Remade my life since.

"The Dark Mirror never held that boy accountable. Haven't forgiven them their inability to control themselves or their sentient, sapient space. Expect you understand, now, why I hesitate to partner with one of them." He drew a long breath, then downed the rest of his glass.

Tama knew of the acceptance of the Dark Mirror Court by the Negaverse. It was a sort of truce, as he understood it, that merely required that the two factions not outright attack one another. He had not realized that the connection was, at one time, an alliance.

He wondered what had happened to change that.

He’d been to Mirrorspace, too. Had to, since he’d awakened one of their kind before. Thus was the strength of the starseed’s connection to that place.

But, at least according to this accounting of Eion’s, the senshi had no control of it.

They're tied to a force they can't control, which provides no structure but for the power that constantly suffuses them. It demands nothing but energy, and can betray them at any time.

So, the Dark Mirror Court was playing around with a power they could neither control nor understand.

That was a dangerous game.

“Memories that weren’t yours?” Tama questioned Eion.

The Mauvian knew of memories being taken — he knew it intimately — but never memories gained. Yes, there were past lives of senshi and knights. Yet, agents had none of those.

He would skirt the question of Eion having a family for now. It’s not that he didn’t want to know. Of course, the cat did; he wanted to know everything. Yet, for some reason, he felt as if Faustite has gone through quite enough already today.

With Emmy's hostessing duties complete for the moment, she stepped back from the coffee table and settled into a chair that had sacrificed some of its softness so that it could have the aesthetic of clean lines. She sipped at her wine slowly. She turned to give Eion her full attention.

Of course she'd noticed that he hadn't been as gung-ho as some of the others to tie up Murikabushi and bring him to a team initiation ceremony. He'd had his reasons, she'd assumed. That was why she'd been trying to nudge him along and get him gone.

Still, Faustite couldn't have made any amount of microexpressions down in the Farnsworth basement that would have prepared her for the story he was telling now. Emmy's eyebrows raised higher and higher as he went on. Another three sips of wine went down.

"No wonder the alliance dissolved," she said with a shake of her head. She understood their current stance of neutrality, as they didn't want more enemies, but being tied up with something like that sounded dangerous.

There were a few more personal questions that Emmy could have asked. There were condolences she could have offered, but that would have to wait until she had a more private moment.

"So, trying to ally ourselves with this man would come with serious risks. Do the potential rewards balance it?"

She crossed one leg over the other, glad that she'd been streaming, so she was wearing a smart blouse and a black skirt and looked worth listening to.

"I wouldn't get greedy about his magic," she said, fingernails tapping against her glass. "Of course it seems like a powerful distraction in a fight, but I don't see why we couldn't just get a Negaverse senshi to do that. If he could be an informant, that's more tempting, and he talks enough for it, but he'd also inform on us. I have no doubt of that. We could feed him information."

A moment passed where her lips pressed together in thought. "We can build rapport. That is valuable. It's always best not to have enemies, but given this history I think we need to be asking ourselves how close we want to get."

Silently she leaned over to refill Eion's glass.

Eion's attention shifted to the little furry b*****d whose questions lacked a snipe for him, for once. "Was of a disorganized fight in a warehouse. Got stabbed by a Negaverse General, so I assume it was a White Moon memory." Couldn't prove whose it was, or why that particular memory was presented to him, if there was even a why. "Might have been one of the wraith's victims."

The refill on Eion's drink earned Emmy a silent nod of thanks. If he needed to talk about any of this, he would rather be a little drunk for it.

Eion used the time to take another drink and wipe his mouth to reflect on Emmy's question. "… Depends.

"We can mitigate risk. Always meet in the city, never go to Mirrorspace. Think critically about asks for help. Could also encourage them to drain appropriately to keep Mirrorspace where it belongs.

"You're right about not wanting to make more enemies than we must. Dark Mirror's survived that long because of that philosophy. Had to have come up with some allies on both sides, by now, so if we're extending our hand, then we might expect this boy to divulge about some Order contacts. Know he knows Kerberos, for example. Should be more than that, with how talkative he is.

"Might let slip about some potential turncoats, too." People he'd have to execute. "Feeding him into isn't a bad idea, either. See where it turns up, whose lips it's on." Eion watched her;did she know about the leak? Did Waru tell her?

Albite swallowed a frustrated groan while he powered down for what he hoped was the final time that night, simultaneously tucking his phone away into a back pocket where he swore it wouldn't pulled from again! Not even to check for things, just in case! No replies were coming, and that was fine, he deserved Emmy's silence just then. Probably the whole damn teams, if he was being honest with himself. Which made it extra good to have a job to do, playing taxi n having some simple rules to follow in-between all his too loud thoughts; shuttling members back n forth while hanging a block down or up from locations; doing so till he was too tired to drag his mind back through the circular rut it'd twisted itself in for the last -- however long now -- minutes, hours? He wasn't good with time. What snacks of energy orbs did for a body? They didn't do for a mind. Especially not one that'd found itself so firmly made up about a thing.....

He should've been apologizing better, not just to Faustite, but to everyone. Yet more n more he resented having said the words so quickly while backing down. The others plans were right -- they were smart -- their ideas were good and full of common sense! Waru just didn't feel like being sensible anymore. Couldn't see reason between 'ours' or 'dead', couldn't see it reflecting on anyone other than himself. All the consequences he didn't hardly fear so long as no one else had to suffer them.

Which meant that as far as he was concerned? Either Murikabushi was going to exist under his heel as an Ally, or he was going to exist under his heel as an Enemy. There was no peaceable in-between he could reconcile with. No mild-middling he could muster up extra olive branches to offer. The Senshi of Hunger owed more than just Faustite an apology, only he hadn't realized it yet. Such a narrow vein of focus for *his boy*; none for the costs surrounding it. Others lives, Faustites own, the cost to their----

Such a hazard of a magical entity. Oil-spill in a corset standing right next to the worlds most dangerous fire.

Waru wondered if he shouldn't've been blaming him so easily.

Cause Muri didn't really know, did he? Couldn't've had the full extent of things explained. Waru wasn't actually sure how much the team knew either, especially about how close everything was to going sideways on their end. That the dissolution of the their group would've followed, that they'd gotten lucky as Faustite coming out on the other end alive n un-banished? A straight out miracle. Sure, if things hadn't gone so well Waru could've hoped some higher up would choose a current member to place in charge of things. They had no end of competent teammates, regardless of rank. Sept that hope was dampened by all the examples of teams he'd seen dissolved in the past, how those people usually got split across multiple Generals, maybe to cut down on traitors, or mistakes? Who knew. What Waru did know with some surety? Was that Kama's end, would've been Faustites, would've been his own in quick succession-----

Because Jet's Glaive was cold to the touch and shined like pitch; save for the brilliant crystals sparkling it's guard and ends. Waru was envious of the thing, such lovely, clean lines, with an edge so sharp the person on the other end of it wouldn't've even felt the cut.

Because Sovereigns didn't, on a whim, sacrifice the lives of those in their armies to spare one single being....not even for an accident....That Cela was youma enough, with those lovely eyes. That Jet valued Faustite, must've -- Waru was so damn sure.

They'd gotten so ******** lucky.

That thought filled the rest of the relatively quiet walk to Em's door, "You're gonna like Em's place..M'actually kinda surprised Ei' offered it up. I mean--okay--maybe not. She's got her s**t together. She's meticulous, n clean, n..." and Waru found some sort of quiet in front of Emmy's door, knocking ever so politely, like a gift! Every now and then checking on Aelius over his shoulder. He felt for the man, poor guy was probably tired, but things were going to be fine. Waru decided he could attend this, and be quiet, and it'd be alright!

Whatever his mind about the whole situation was? He knew it was better to let the team hear his boy out n then make the call on how to handle things after, maybe even without his being so intertwined? He could take his big heels outta his fat mouth n keep a distance from whatever goings on they made decisions about. That was kind of like delegation, right? Surely it was something he preeched bout, n needed to get practicing on.

Aelius was incredibly grateful to Albite. As tired as the Eternal probably was from toting everyone around, Aelius had nothing left in the tank at that point. He could maybe squeeze out another teleport to get his a** home, but that was the end of it. What he really needed was just a damn good sleep. Wistfully, he wondered if Faustite would be willing to join him. Wanting to curl up around the boy and just crash for a good solid sleep would . Glancing at the back of the man whom he trailed just behind, Aelius wondered if Waru would care to join them. Three of them in one bed was tight, but not like it hadn’t been done before.

He yawned as he picked up his pace to join the himbo’s side after he realized Waru was slowly growing the gap between them. “Honestly she seems like a very put together person on the whole. I’ve not gotten to really work with her much but she comes across as very practical if not extremely straight-laced.” Jada appeared to be a woman with a solid head on her shoulders if, at times, he felt she was a bit cold. Again though, with the little interactions he’s had with her, especially one-on-one it was hard to determine. Right now all he wanted was a chair, or even the floor, to sit down on. If she gave him that he would kiss her.

“I find it amusing he offered it up so casually. I suppose that’s one of many reasons we would benefit from a team house.” He wondered how that was all coming along. He’d not questioned about it since he and Faustite’s spat. His back itched thinking about it.

Aelius followed Waru to the apartment. As promised, upon the entry, it was quickly noted how pristine the place was. Mentally he thanked himself for at least not opting for post-workout clothing and instead wiggling into a pair of tight-fit, dark wash jeans and casual grey button up over top simple black undershirt. Simple but clean and put together enough to feel out of place in the airy, white focused home.

He paused by the doorway, glancing down for the tell-tale sign of a ‘shoes off’ rule but noted the lack of a shoe pile. Perfect. Taking his shoes off were too much effort at that point, and the bruises he’d garnered in the fight were beginning to ache. “Sorry we’re late. Waru was kind enough to cart my a** over here after I tended to a few things and changed.”

The pile of people in the living space was unsurprising. The team was large and crammed into the closed quarters of an apartment it became very apparent how large. Everyone was obviously situated in a way to have a full view of their General who had nestled himself onto a table as if afraid to touch anything else for fear of spoiling it. Some were much more comfortable than others and others looked right at home like they had always belonged in such luxury.

Eyes full of sleep barely registered who was nestled primely on the couch. In fact, eyes slid right over the man at first, before shock and confusion brought him back to openly stare.

“Trey?”

For the most part, Trey listened to the conversation and Eion’s out pouring quietly, sipping his wine and mulling over the new information.

What this revealed about the Dark Mirror Court as a whole had him disinclined to have the Negaverse involved with them and supported the choice to dissolve a closer alliance, agreeing with Emmy’s spoke thought. If the power source that controlled them was truly chaotic and not to be trusted, then they posed something of a danger to the Negaverse as a whole. But to have one of these outbursts and then not make some recompense to them for the collateral damage they suffered… was idiotic in the extreme. He could see a lot of value for them in keeping the Negaverse at least neutral to them. But, maybe they didn’t care… Maybe there was more danger of that court siding with the white moon than it had appeared, and that he didn’t like.

As for the singular member they had accosted tonight… He had some similar thoughts about him as Emmy did; namely that courting him for his magic was pointless, and having a rapport with a member of another faction was valuable. They didn’t have to bring him into the fold, but he could bring a wealth of information about the court if he could be convinced to share with them. How likely that was going to be, though, he was rather doubtful. It would take a good amount of work, considering how neatly the Mirror had told them to ******** off. With their pre-existing relationship, it would likely be on Eion’s shoulders to make that effort and there was a part of Trey that did not feel confident in it. Eion did not strike him as a terribly diplomatic person… which was fine, not everyone needed to be, and he had strengths elsewhere. But if they had to rely on him to build a bridge like that, he was just not sure how well it would go.

His eyes shifted to Eion as he related his own bad run in with a member of the court, and though it didn’t show in his face, a part of him ached in sympathy. Two family members murdered… his life torn apart and forced to be remade. He knew a fraction of what that was like, and could imagine the rest. It was, perhaps, no wonder then why Eion was the way he was. Trauma changed people, hardened them.

“You have the closest rapport with this senshi than any of the rest of us are likely to without a good deal of effort. Do you feel up to cultivating that? You may be the most likely to have any success with it, after what we saw in the basement. And, is what we might gain worth that effort? Were it just say, me or Emmy doing that leg work, I would say yes, but you have other responsibilities, other more important work.” He said quietly as the door to the apartment opened and closed, adding two more to the impromptu meeting.

At the sound of his name, Trey turned to look the two over, mentally noting and dismissing Waru, who he knew already. The slender young man beside him was vaguely familiar, but not someone he recognized. Attractive, fit, a bit shorter than Waru. Angular features in bright gold and rich purple. He would not have been out of place in Trey’s circles.

“Yes?”

Maybe Eion or Waru had given the boy his name. Even though the shape of his eyes tugged at his mind, Trey was certain he’d never been introduced to him before. He was usually good at remembering faces and names. The young man had such a strange expression on his face… why would he be surprised to see him, of all of the ones here? Was it just because he was new? He didn’t think he was that new any more…

He hadn't thought much of it when Waru and Aelius arrived. The boy looked worse for wear, so Eion's attention lingered on him solely out of concern. Bright reds slashed across his body, each a sign of the bruising to come, and some cuts and scrapes were sustained over the course of that wretched battle. Aelius looked tired, too; Eion knew it wasn't easy to be in perpetual pain. Next to him, Waru looked far more hale, if far more tired. No doubt the result of burning all his magic, then burning so much more energy by ferrying parts of the team.

They didn't need to be dragged into that mess. Yet they were, because Helio had been dragged into that mess, and then Faustite dragged them into another mess thereafter. He dragged Murikabushi into a mess. Now he sat in Jada's apartment while he reiterated an old mess —

And as he heard the lone word from Aelius's mouth, as he breathed his gasp into his own wine and choked on it, he realized he started yet another mess. He coughed and sputtered, spilling a liberal portion of his wine into his own lap, then hacked more fully as he held the wine glass away from himself. When he recovered enough to look around with dewy eyes, his attention settled on Trey, who honestly — tragically — didn't know who was calling his name.

It hurt to watch more than it hurt to try to breathe alcohol. If he could've had his brother back, who was assumed dead —

Instead, he sputtered out a choked "********," then shot Waru a desperate glance. As if to say, I wasn't ready for this. As if to say, help.

He couldn’t’ve been the Senshi of invisibility, or love bugs, or — Nah, had to have been ‘Retribution’, fitting as ********, all things considered.

Espescially since Emmy was going to kill him, or worse? *Ignore him*. He could feel it in the way he couldn’t catch her eyes, the lack of texts; the shoulder he was receiving so cold that it burned just as badly as his knowledge of the fact that he deserved it…

He didn’t lack for self-awareness after the fact, only wished that he’d had it before. His gaze on her lingered the longest before sliding over their sprawled team to Eion — gaining a feel of the room like a man testing for sharks while treading water.

Then Aelius opened his *mouth*, and the seconds it took Waru to un-tense; roll the stiffness out of his shoulders n dig the strain out from behind his eyes with his thumbs. Eions hoarse ********** was an understatement, but no better word in any language he knew could’ve topped the sentiment laid bare within.

“*Rowan* — Trey,” everything ached, his head, his heart, his husbands desperate plea, and what could he do? Save put himself in the middle of it all. Between them all, even. Clasping Aelius’s shoulder in the gentlest of squeezes given the mans hurts — before brushing by to take his place at Eions side. Nothing would be halved, or shirked, only shared — *even this* — because Waru had no clever new ways to peel the bandage free this time. So he simply ripped it off, “Trey — *Rowan*, you’ve met. Though it’s been awhile.….”

The backwash of red sloshing in Eions glass looked beautiful just then, spilled on his boy like first blood. Waru stole that fine stemmed vessel from Eions outstretched hand and downed it’s remains. Waste not, want not, and if any more messes got on anything else? He had a feeling he was going to be the one mopping it up.

Memories were tricky things. Dangerous, too. Perhaps more dangerous for this group than the Dark Mirror.

Tama could see the tension in the room — smell it even — but the cause of it, he could only guess.

Waru had teleported the last of them here — Aelius, the only one whose civilian form he had seen prior to this meeting.

He said a name. Said it in a way like he was surprised. Said it in a way like he’d seen a ghost.

Trey was the one in the room who must have been that senshi he hadn’t met before tonight. He knew everyone else in the room, albeit seeing their civilian forms for the first time.

But the man’s ‘yes’ said he had none of the reservations that Aelius had; he clearly didn’t know him.

Funnily enough, it was once again Eion who was telling him — no, showing him — what he needed to know here. Given that the man had just inhaled his alcohol like air, he knew he was not prepared for this. The man was having a hell of a night.

Part of Tama would have enjoyed it — perhaps still did. But a growing part felt ever the more bad for it. Especially, because of what came next…

Waru answered the rest of the puzzle for him. Of course, it was Waru. Unable or unwilling to lie. So easily speaking the truth and answering each question Tama had held back from asking.

These two knew each other, yet only one remembered.

And then, to no one in particular or, perhaps, to all of them, the cat said:

“Memories are a b***h, aren’t they?”

Waru walked through the door, and in that moment Emmy shifted from being cool in a logical way to being cold like an ice queen. Her eyes flicked to Aelius, who got a small not of welcome, but Emmy was careful not to so much as glance at him. In fact, she turned away from the entrance. She crossed one leg over the other. She pressed her lips together and she squinted through her glasses at the coffee table.

As if that wasn't enough, from her new defensive position, she heard the swishing of liquid. She whirled around towards Eion, and she saw the splatter.

"Careful," she hissed.

The furniture had been kept immaculate. There were reasons she had no children or pets, and everyone who walked through her door was expected to act like an adult.

She couldn't completely neglect her hostessing duty, though. Nobody else was about to start rummaging around through her cabinets, so she stepped back into the kitchen to grab a small towel, and when she returned, she tossed it towards Eion, wondering why the room had suddenly gotten so tense.
