The leaves all seem ordinary, but there’s a few odd seconds between when you jump into the leaves and when you jump out; it feels like falling, tumbling, somersaulting through the air. It’s not scary, just odd. You see walls of leaves–brown and orange and yellow and red–and they crunch magnificently. Overall, it doesn’t seem menacing, just a bit of trickster fun. If you try to jump in a pile of leaves again, you might wind up somewhere else entirely–or right back where you started.
in shades of red, orange and gold. The crispness in the air had an invigorating effect on a small Mauvian as she navigated across empty sidewalks. There hadn't been much that seemed to be going on that she had to worry about being outted for what she really was. It was nice to be able just to wander around a strange neighborhood and admire things that usually one wouldn't have time for.
It seemed as if those that inhabited this block were the best type of individuals. There were hardly any loose leaves remaining on these yards. No, it seemed as if many of the yards had had the leaves raked into rather, large and inviting piles. It wouldn't do to make a total mess of these piles but surely, what fun could be had by jumping into such a pile?
There didn't seem to be any humans around and Illyria wasn't sure if there were any eyes on her but she sniffed at one such pile of leaves before prodding at it with a paw, "To jump or not to jump, I guess that is the question."

Coco kinda enjoyed fall and she kinda didn't since she didn't have a home she knew winter could be hard, she needed to come to an agreement with a senshi so she would have a home it was kinda hard to get a home when you were a cat. Even once she gained her human form she would only have it for short periods of time so she couldn't use it all the time. She needed a person that could help her and take care of her. It was hard to be unhappy though, the crisp scent of the leaves and the crunch of them under her paws felt pretty great. She saw a cat eyeing one of the leaf piles and she looked on curiously. She wondered if they were going to jump in the pile it was a good idea in her book.

Illyria hadn't noticed the other cat yet as she was still busy circling the leaves and making a very important judgement call. The lure to simply dive into the pile was strong and while she was sure that nothing could truly be harmful in doing so there was still that small voice in the back of her mind that was cautioning ... well ... caution. At most the worst that would happen was that she'd make a mess of someone's carefully raked up leaves that they'd have to perhaps come out and rake up again. But what if something else strange happened. For a moment Illyria remembered the strange shadows that seemed to spring up a few years back and what had happened then. Was this something similar?
Sniffing at the base of the pile once more Illyria suddenly realized that she wasn't alone anymore and her fur puffed up before her gaze tracked and locked on the form of another cat. Abandoning the mystery of the leaves for a moment Illyria shortened the distance between herself and this other feline before making note of the mark that indicated this stranger was yet another Mauvian. Illyria beckoned to the other before padding back towards the leaves. Her paw steps were whisper quiet as she ducked down behind the pile to wait, her tail lashing the ground. Would the other cat follow her example so that they could talk freely or would they choose not to do so?
Only time would tell.

Coco was curious what the other cat was doing so she followed them and gave them a look, she was also looking for a sign they were also a guardian cat, but she was pretty sure with their behavior that they were. She hadn't noticed a star on their head just yet, but she was also at a distance before. She moved quietly as the other cat had done in case there was a creature or youma somewhere about that they were avoiding. She looked around trying to figure out what was going on and what she should do with this information. She hadn't noticed the shadows at all. She was getting impatient and she wanted to know what was going on she wiggled on her feet wanting badly to ask what the heck was going on but not wanting to spoil anything at the same time.

Well, at least this other feline had been curious enough to follow her over to a spot behind the leaves. Exhaling softly Illyria gave the stranger a once over before noting the star marking before she started purring softly. Even though it looked like no one was around, caution was warranted. Moving to a more relaxed sitting position did Illyria stop purring before looking over the newcomer, "so, yes, I am a Mauvian. I'm assuming you are to. Sorry to drag you over this way. I just wanted to make an introduction but at the same time I don't want anyone to overhear us doing non-cat things, like talking."
Illyria let the silence rush in before she broke it again, "so, who do I have the pleasure of meeting ... I'm Illyria."
As she spoke she found her gaze returning the the pile of leaves. It was so very tempting to just simply barrel through it. But introductions came first.

Coco laughed softly "Yes I am as well, and I understand, it's hard to be our kind in the city sometimes, though sometimes I think us talking would be the least strange thing they would have seen around." She smiled and then said "I'm Coco, it's nice to meet you." She said softly. Coco turned her attention to the leaves as well. "Well, since the introductions are done want to act like cats and just some leaf piles?"

Illyria beamed at Coco before nodding, "I know, talking probably wouldn't be the weirdest thing that Destiny City residents would see but it doesn't mean that we can be careless about outting ourselves as talking cats. Be a bad day for those that we watch over if that were to happen." But Illyria's posture relaxed enough that she gave her conspirator-in-arms a wink before indicating the leaf pile with an outstretched paw, "I'm game if you are."
At least Coco's coloration would allow her to blend in more with the leaves that they were going to jump in if anyone were to see what they were doing but Illyria was going to enjoy this little romp as best as she could.
"You can jump first if you want to Coco, I can follow right after ... or I can go first. I'll let you decide."

Coco smiled and she jumped she didn't feel like talking it over anymore and she found herself tumbling in darkness much more than a leaf pile was supposed to be by what she was thinking. She flipped about as she was falling, she had no way to warn Illyria what was going on but luckily it didn't hurt and she didn't see anything scary so far this was much better than the game board she had gotten stuck on. That had been terrible indeed.

While Illyria would have loved to jump in first she had allowed Coco the chance to make her choice and she wasn't surprised to see the calico take a running leap and jump into the pile of leaves. What she wasn't expecting was that Coco would not pop back out of said pile. Her gaze grew pensive as precious seconds ticked by and there was no sign of the other Mauvian. "Coco? You in there still? C'mon, this isn't funny anymore."
After waiting another minute Illyria sighed before hoping that she wasn't about to make a fool of herself by landing on the other guardian cat. There was either two options: Coco was really, really good at hiding or there was something amiss with these leaves.
With a sharp inhale Illyria launched her small body into the leaves without any more hesitation. What she had expected was that she would move around in the pile until she touched solid ground but that was anything but what happened. Flashes of multi-hued leaves pass before her eyes as she felt like she was falling longer than what would have been normal. Her eyes closed briefly before she popped out of the pile of leaves to find herself in a completely neighborhood. "What the-" she didn't even get a chance to finish her query as she stared at another pile of leaves across the road that Coco was stumbling out of. How was this possible?
Dashing across the road the cat eyed her comrade before mewing softly, "you ok?"

Coco wasn't sure how she popped out across the road from her new friend, this was certainly a strange trick. "Yes I'm alright, want to go again?" She asked cheerfully.

Looking at the piles that each of them had crawled out of had Illyria weighing the pros and cons of each possible answer that she could give to Coco. It would have been fun to stick around and test this new crazy way to travel around the town but it was also very good way to lose track of time and there was the real good chance that they'd become separated by more than just a roadside. Wrinkling her nose at the suggestion of jumping again had the Mauvian shaking her head.
"It'd be interesting to see if this phenomenon were to keep occurring but there is someplace that I need to head off to and I'm afraid I'm not quite sure how much this little trip through the leaves has sidetracked me," but Illyria wasn't one to let an opportunity in the future go amiss, "but there is always another day that we could try to meet up again and see if this happens again."
Illyria had Coco's name and she had hers so it wouldn't be too hard to find a way to contact each other if the chance arose for more investigations. With a jaunty wave Illyria stared at the pile of leaves she was leaving Coco near and moseyed on her way towards where she needed to be ... her paw steps lightening with the closing of the distance between her and her destination. She'd see Coco again one day ... but now it was time for someone else to have her attention.

Coco smiled and then said "It was nice meeting you and perhaps we will meet again sometime." With that she jumped into a leaf pile to keep playing for a while. (Fin)
