The harvest was something special in the trees of Jauhar, much different than what he had grown up with back in Oba. It was mostly focused on the fruit of the trees over any sort of gardens or resources, though if he thought about it enough he imagined that those who went to the oasis in Oba did something the same.
Either way, it was a requirement that all Aishans support such activities, as it was a celebration of the fruits of Aisha not unlike the blooms they came from. He was used to doing the activity with his peers, and today he found himself working alongside the competitive yet reclusive Crocus.
They were two very different creatures, but Svadra didn't mind. The prickly hybrid was not unlike many of the Obans he grew up with.

Crocus wasn't used to such collaborative activities, possibly because many didn't like how he dove into things so competitively. But he knew his duty and that was to his tribe, his family, and the future. They had the opportunity to participate in bringing food back to the greater group, and as young able-bodied Aishans, there was no reason they would say no.
He preferred hunting events, but alas he was stuck climbing into trees with whatever partner he was paired with. And today it was Svadra.
It wasn't that he disliked Svadra, but they were just two different people. Communication was few and far between, and often he just let the other babble when they trained with each other. Fortunately, Svadra took sparring seriously enough that he was able to get a work out from the slim hybrid. So that was something.

As he picked up a basket, the tall and slim hybrid began his pacing into the woods. It wouldn't be too hard to climb the trees if needed, though Svadra wasn't one who liked to get his outfits dirty. Instead, he met in the location and glanced about, searching for Crocus and hopefully working with the other hybrid in some sort of co-op grab and throw technique.

Thankfully, the tall oban hybrid stood out like a sore thumb in the array of Aishan bodies, so Crocus darted over with quick work. He glanced at some of his other peers, already off to the races, and remembered his little bet with a certain competitive partner. Looking at Svadra, he nodded once before pointing to the other direction.
"How about I toss down what I find, will be easier to move from the top while you collect from the bottom."

It was quite obvious what his partner desired, and Svadra resisted rolling his eyes at the comment. Crocus was competitive to a fault, and often times it meant extra work and occasional trouble. Though this didn't seem too troublesome, and Svadra simply nodded and prepared the baskets.
"Lead the way." He simply stated with a languid smile.

They made quick work with the agreed process, Crocus jumping from each tree and getting a workout as he moved. He found himself grinning back down at Svadra, the tosses easy and some a bit playful. It was always a challenge with him, and few others kept up. Thankfully, Svadra had become a competent sparring partner, though annoying with the lack of desire to compete back.
By the time they finished their trees, he was pleasantly sweaty and content with the workout.
"How'd we do?" He asked as he jumped down.

Svadra was not as sweaty as his harvest partner, in fact he looked perfectly put together as always. Maybe it was because he pulled his dreads back, and they fell in place once they were in the shade and rested. Watching Crocus jump down, the Oban hybrid nodded once and glanced to their haul.
"Unsurprisingly, quite good." He said simply, showing the pack to the other.

Leaning forward to look into the bag, he nodded once in agreement, "You're right, probably the best harvest I've done in awhile."
He grinned again, proud of himself as he offered to carry the bag home.

Not being one to look a gift radaku in the mount, Svadra handed over the bag and smiled sweetly at the other. They walked back in relative silence. Training with one another meant they were comfortable enough to understand each other's preferences, and often they didn't do too much talking. Svadra liked to chat, but being raised in the environment he was in meant he knew how to control such impulses.

As they returned to the group, Crocus added their collection with the mass pile, the group excited at their harvest and what it meant for the community. It was a very successful run, and Crocus was proud to be part of it (and secretly that his back was the biggest).
Turning to Svadra as the rest of the harvesters began to head off, he nodded once more.
"Great job today, Sva." He said with a friendly grin.

He was also pleased to see everyone happy, an experience he didn't often see back in Oba. It was surprising to consider he would enjoy labor, considering his upbringing, but the community sense was what he loved. The idea of taking the harvest from Aisha and returning in the spring was romantic.
"You as well, Crocus." He said smoothly.

"Well, I think it's for the best we head back. I for one still need to work on my weapon handling before the sun sets."
He didn't get a chance to get out and work this morning, as harvest duty started first thing, and while he did get a bit of cardio he knew he needed to work on some of the techniques their teacher had taught them last week.

"You never stop, do you darling?" Svadra said with humor in his voice, shaking his head as he himself decided he would lounge in the water and enjoy the off-day. He was content with his own training, more spell focused than the bulky man beside him.
"Try not to show off too much during practice." He added with one last nod, before turning and waving as he walked away, ready to enjoy his free time.

As if he would ever take it easy. He knew what Svadra was off to do, and had accepted that the other was more keen to relax. Turning on his heel, he began to jog away, ready to get back to work and run through his fitness patterns before the sun set.
