Helping the Harvest

A crisp breeze has rolled into Tendaji, bringing the temperatures down both on land and sea. Along with the shortening of days, this is a sign that it is time to harvest food and resources to prepare for the winter months.
Typically, harvesting is a community effort. Be it the family all coming together to ensure the produce is picked before it sours, or the community coming in to help till the fields, it is quite the event. Most don't mind stepping up, considering the hard work always pays off with a festival, but some do find it quite a burden.
Either way, if the community wishes to come together and survive another long winter, it's time for you to step in and play your part.
[ The fall harvest is back again. This time, you have been asked to play your part. Be it helping gather materials like wood and furs or plucking the fruits and vegetables from the fields, your task has been laid out for you.
When replying to this event, we are looking for your character to be actively helping with the fall harvest. Maybe it's a team effort with a friend, or a thoughtful reflection of what fall means. Take the time to explore how your character feels doing such work during this time of year. ]

Teletta had returned to her home in Yael having bid Doesina farewell and safe travels and good luck in finding her cousin. When the airship landed in the port Teletta knew the harvest was just around the corner, almost as though her family had planned it so. Teletta could see fewer of the familiar family members were tending stalls at market, as more hands were needed in the fields and orchards. Though Teletta's family raised quristine they were no strangers to the harvest often renting out male quristine to help out their neighbors. Harvest was just as busy for Teletta's family as it was for those in the fields.
The horizon wasn't even painted with the sun's first light, as Teletta rose from her sleep, still fatigued a little from the journey in Jahur. Teletta was to bring the stronger quristine to his place and help harvest his field. In return he'd give them a good discount on feed for the quristine for the rest of the year. Other Farms in the area had similar side deals with friends, it was a normal part of living in rural area's like this, though Teletta's family lived a bit closer to the city. Teletta yawned putting on her work clothing, making sure to stretch. In the corner of her room the radaku pup Teletta had named Srix slept soundly. It had been a long journey for the poached pup and Teletta had finally managed to earn its trust. "see you in a bit" she called to the pup softly. She headed to the kitchen where her dad was cooking,
"Breakfast," he said as he slid her a plate "Make sure you're extra nice, he's a good friend." he reminded her as she finished eating. Teletta gave him the usual, yes dad as she headed out the door to fetch the bucks. She saddled one for herself and got a lead rope for the other sliding it carefully over the bucks horns. Teletta carefully Tied the lead rope to a spot in the saddle.
"You two ready, it's going to be a long day." she said petting both bucks before a small mischievous little Sitara landed directly on her face. Making a muffled gargle, Teletta carefully shifted the creature to her shoulders. Koki had been causing trouble in Neued. Doesina had help Teletta catch it, and the locals weren't to keen on having the little creature stay around, but now Koki seemed happy enough. "Ok you can come too, but no trouble." she said emphasizing the last bit, giving it a light scratch under it's chin, and Koki chirped it's approval it's tail glowing softly.
Teletta mounted the saddled buck checking once more the second rope, she gently tapped the buck on the sides signaling it to move forward. "lets go help the harvest next door." she called gently to the two as she set out. Traveling up the road Koki's tail glowed softly illuminating the darkness around them, not that Teletta needed it, she knew these roads like the back of her hand. they started coming up to the field being harvested, Teletta could see the large amount of people in the fields. Flagging down one of the nearby hands she was pointed in the direction of some of the harvesting equipment. Leading the quristine to some of the waiting wagons, Teletta waved to some of the familiar faces.
"let's get your two two hitched up." one of the other Yaeli hands called to Teletta as she neared some of the wagons. "We need to get the crops into the wagons and moved off the field. Their neighbor didn't seem to trust any of the machines made on Balrea so ofthen they'd bring the quristine to act in place of the larger machines invented by the lightning. Teletta was actually lookin forward to finding out more about them at some point in the future, but for now teletta slipped off the buck and set the saddle aside in on a hook set on one of the wagons exchanging the one tack for the harness careful not to catch the horns. One the two were hooked to the wagons, Teletta heard another of the farm hands calling to load up the wagons as she and another started rolling forward slowly and stopping when needed.
The Sun was starting to rise as their first load was filled and Teletta started off to the usual drop location for the bundled harvest. They had to be quick, and careful, as they delivered the precious cargo, it was after all the lively hood of all the people here. The Time passed and once the field was empty they called it a day. Teletta took the bucks home and put them in the open paddock to rest and graze a little after their hard work. After all they'd do it again tomorrow until the harvest was complete. [819]
