It was late when Arian finally let himself into the apartment that he shared with Orah and did his best to fight back a yawn as he turned to close the door as quietly as he could before padding towards the small kitchen area with the intention of making up a cup of hot chocolate before turning in for the night–

Only to find himself pausing at the sight of pie on the counter - well make that pies. Plural. One apple and one pumpkin from what looked like they'd come from a farmer's market.

Despite his tiredness Arian's lips quirked up in a small appreciative but tired smile, assuming that Orah had picked up the pies as he stepped past the counter and reached into the cupboard to fetch down the hot chocolate making supplies.

Because whilst it was late and all and a part of him knew that he'd need to be abed sooner rather than later, hot chocolate and pie sounded like a much more attractive before bed proposition than hot chocolate alone.

Arian had set down the hot chocolate and marshmallows on the counter and had been humming quietly to himself as he started to walk the short distance so as to fetch some milk from out of the fridge, but had started at the sound of his name.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't..." His voice trailed off as his mind finally caught up to the fact that the voice that had spoken up hadn't been that of Orah and then belatedly remembered that his friend had told him that there was someone currently staying in the apartment's spare room. Another senshi.

"Yes," he said quietly as the other called him by his senshi name "Although I go by Arian when I'm like this - and you're Selinur?" Arian made it a question, his quiet voice turning apologetic as he asked "Did I wake you? Because if so then I apologise."

Arian nodded as he looked up at the taller male, "You're right that in this meeting was probably overdue" he agreed, his quiet voice peaceable as his lips quirked up in a small but friendly smile "Orah did mention you, but it's nice to finally meet you."

And he meant it, because whilst this was the first time that he had met the other face-to-face, he and Orah had agreed long ago to set up the spare room in the apartment so that it could be offered out should there be need for it.

"And I'm happy to call you Selinur if you prefer?" Arian made it a question.

Selinur's question about what he was making had him glancing back to the tin of hot chocolate for a moment before Arian finally rustled up some milk from the fridge "I'm making some hot chocolate" he said. "Would you like some?"

Because it would be just as easy to make hot chocolate for two as for one and quick enough to fetch down two mugs.

"Then Selinur is what I'll use" Arian said simply as he reached for a saucepan–

Because whilst it was perfectly possible to mix up the hot chocolate by adding hot water, Arian tended to prefer making it up by saucepan when he didn't have to rush.

He frowned thoughtfully as he set everything down as he admitted "Well I'll use Selinur for the most part, but there are times where I'd probably have to use Ash." There was a wry note in his quiet voice "We have to be so careful about names here."

For a moment a sad note crept into his voice as he added "And be careful about who knows what name."

It had meant on his part lying for years to some people and it had strained his relationship with his cousin. He shook his head slightly, not wanting to dwell as he continued quietly "But the apartment is safe enough and I'll use Selinur where I can."

Arian hadn't expected the other to step closer as he had and blinked slightly as the other sniffed at the mix before stepping back, but he had remained easy-going as he turned to fetch down a couple of mugs from a cupboard.

"Yes hot chocolate can be pretty sweet," he admitted as he poured the milk into the pan and started to heat it through "Although this version has quite a high amount of dark chocolate so it's not as sweet as the milk chocolate version." His lips quirked up in a rueful smile "I use this one because it makes a more chocolaty-chocolate, but I like mine sweeter personally so I'm going to add a bit of honey to mine before I put the cream on.

The rich smell of chocolate started to permeate as Arian added the chocolate to the milk and started to stir with a wooden spoon that had a carved cat perched on the handle.

It had been a gift that was more of a novelty gift and came as a set of three, but Arian thought them kind of cute.

"There's no need to thank me" he said simply with a small smile as he stirred rhythmically, as habit had him moving the spoon around the pan in lazy figures of eight.

Arian listened as Selinur talked about the foods from his home world and gave one last stir before pouring the mixture from the pan into a couple of mugs.

"Like stews?" He asked in curiosity, before putting a large dollop of honey into one of the mugs and absently stirring, before offering "I can leave the honey out of yours if you prefer? And the cream too." He put another dollop of honey into the first mug and stirred before deeming himself satisfied.

Arian nodded and handed over the second of the two mugs, the design a cute novelty one that had been as much of a novelty gift as the wooden spoons.

"I like stews" Arian admitted as he added cream to the first mug and added on a liberal amount of marshmallows atop the cream. "I mean I prefer sweet things more," because his sweet tooth wasn't particularly a secret "But there's something kind of comforting about lamb stew in the colder months."

He sipped at the hot chocolate in his mug as Selinur continued to talk about his homeworld, his eyes openly curious.

"Selinur sounds very different to Athene" he said quietly once Selinur had finished speaking. "It gets cool there in the evenings, but it's generally pretty warm."

Well at least it had been warm there on the occasions when he had gone. "But my cousin's Wonder is apparently cold" he hesitated for a moment before admitting quietly "I've not actually been there myself - but Liryn has." A fond note crept into his quiet voice "Liryn is a mauvian and a really good friend."

His quiet voice turned wry as he added "But he's also probably the biggest source of my grey hairs."

Arian had listened quietly as Selinur continued to talk about his homeworld, but nodded at the question about his cousin.

"My cousin is a Polaris Page" he said quietly, "But I couldn't really tell you anything about her Wonder."

In truth Arian wasn't even sure how long his cousin had been a knight or even when she had awakened, and he hadn't quite been able to bring himself to dare ask–

Not when things were still so fragile and awkward between them.

Instead the two of them deliberately tried to avoid talking about anything that even hinted on powered stuff when they met up.

"But I used to be on a team with Princess Polaris" his lips quirked in a small but fond smile as he admitted "She was kind to me back in the early days of me being a senshi."

Arian looked at the cup of hot chocolate in his hands for a moment "To be honest you'll likely see Liryn at some point sooner rather than later, he likes to check in on those he considers his" and the small mauvian for the most part considered all his friends his in some way. "And he can tell you more about my cousin's Wonder than I can."

He nodded in agreement as Selinur voiced his opinion on the hot chocolate "Hot chocolate is kind of my 'go to' drink" he admitted "Especially whilst out on patrol in the cooler months."

And in truth it wasn't uncommon for him to be out and about with a hot drink during autumn and winter patrols - a habit that had stuck from his early days as a senshi.

Arian nodded "Yes, I used to be on a team with her back when I was still a basic senshi - it was before Orah and I met and became friends."

The small smile faded "And I haven't seen Princess Polaris in a while" he admitted "I think I last saw her during that whole mess down in the subway with the youma train - so about eight or so years ago."

Arian frowned thoughtfully at Selinur's question about royal senshi as he tried to do a mental count.

"In addition to Princess Polaris, there are another three royal senshi that I know of" he paused for a moment "No I think that there's four. Well at least Order royal senshi" The thoughtful frown was still on his face as he admitted "But I haven't seen Princess Iris in years - I think it's been even longer than I last saw Princess Polaris."

The thoughtful frown faded "I think that Prince Castor may be around and I know that I've seen Princess Ganymede around." He hesitated before adding "There's Princess Chronos as well, but I've only ever seen her the once." It had been at a distance back when he was still a basic senshi during a discussion about purification.

The meeting had been.. Not as 'messy' as some of their gatherings had been, which was why it had likely stuck in his mind.

A thought occurred to him "There's Camelot too and Cosmos, but they're not royal senshi - Camelot's a royal knight" and truthfully Arian wasn't too sure what Cosmos was, although he didn't think that she was a senshi royal–

It was undeniable that she was powerful though, not when she'd used that power to save them more than once.

A wry note crept into his voice as he admitted "But I'm probably not the best person to say who is and isn't active amongst the senshi royals - since my path hasn't really crossed theirs a lot per se, but it's possible that you may be able to find Camelot down at the library as he's a librarian if I remember right."

Arian smiled at the question about whether there was anything else that he liked food and drink-wise whilst out on patrol "I tend to stick to hot drinks and sweet things" he admitted "And whilst I prefer hot chocolate, I've drunk coffee before" normally in the form of a latte mixed up with whipped cream and flavoured syrups. "I tend to go for biscuits and cake-like things food-wise, but I kind of like chips even I don't really eat those while on patrol."

He paused before adding "Although I think that they're called fries over here."
