The leaves all seem ordinary, but there’s a few odd seconds between when you jump into the leaves and when you jump out; it feels like falling, tumbling, somersaulting through the air. It’s not scary, just odd. You see walls of leaves–brown and orange and yellow and red–and they crunch magnificently. Overall, it doesn’t seem menacing, just a bit of trickster fun. If you try to jump in a pile of leaves again, you might wind up somewhere else entirely–or right back where you started.
Besides, if she had ever had a poor academic record, this was the perfect time to fix that!
Of course, starting classes, starting school and a whole new career meant that it was kind of difficult to keep up with her quota…but…that was okay! She was out tonight, and she had already gotten enough energy to last her the week, and Gewn had been helping too, because she was the best girlfriend in the world, obviously.
There was the aura of a page nearby, and Tristan took a moment, trying to figure out if she wanted to engage or not…and finally she figured that there was no harm in at least seeing who it might be, not that she thought she would know whoever it was…still.
What Tristan didn’t expect was the root to trip her, nor for the slight incline that she was on…and of course, those two factors led to her stumbling and falling right into the page, and them both tumbling into a tidy pile of leaves…though.
Tristan gasped and looked around, feeling herself freefalling still. There was…leaves everywhere and…what?
What was going on?
By the time her mind had even started to catch up, she was on the other side of the leaf pile and nowhere near the park that she was in before.
“...What…what the heck was that?”

This sucked. That was Casablanca's full and entire opinion.
She had been out, minding her own business, and there had been a Chaos aura, stronger than her own and very close--her first thought had been to run, to get away, but she was too late. The Corrupt crashed intoh er, and she yelped.
"Hey!"
But they were falling before she could do anything, into a leaf pile, and--
And--
Oh, what the ******** they had ended up, it felt very, very strange, with so many leaves all around, and then they were tumbling out.
"I don't know!" She snapped, in answer to the Corrupt's question. "You pushed me into the leaves! And it's you people who can teleport! What did you do, where did you take me?"

Tristan drew away, shaking her head. “Yeah I can teleport but I wouldn’t waste that on you! It makes me super tired, you know? I…I tripped, I didn’t mean to push you, that was seriously an accident but…”
But they definitely weren’t where they had started from and…
That wasn’t…comfortable.
“...Do you know where this is? I mean…I…how did this even happen?”
Obviously this Page didn’t know, if she would have known she wouldn’t have blown up at Tristan but…
“I didn’t do anything, and I don’t know…” She swung her head around and saw a rather familiar building in the distance. “...I think…this might be the park that’s near City Hall?”
But this wasn’t…Tristan had been in the park that was several miles from here…

Casablanca frowned. But at least this Corrupt wasn't trying to convince her to offer energy, or trying to take it from her by force, or God forbid reaching for her starseed. So maybe, okay, she hadn't been transported to a secondary location to be murdered.
Especially because the Corrupt seemed as confused as she was.
"I....have no ******** clue," Casablanca admitted, and she sat partway up, looking around and frowning. "I think you're right, but...what the hell?"
She frowned. Thought.
"......Look, I haven't been doing this magic thing very long, but--do you know if, like? Sometimes places will just...be...magical? Like, we fell into that leaf pile, right, and then we came out in a different leaf pile over here, so--could something have been up with the leaves?"
It sounded insane even as she said it, and yet. If neither of them had done this, it was the closest she had, especially since they'd been surrounded by leaves during the fall throguh that strange tunnel.

Tristan looked doubtfully at the pile of leaves and shook her head. “I…that just doesn’t seem right to me…I mean I know the city’s a mess sometimes but…”
She paused and chewed her lip. If she had been through some weird stuff…she didn’t remember much of it so…
“All right. I’m going to jump in, if I die I die and if I vanish…um. Don’t follow me, I guess.” She gave a halfhearted shrug and smile and jumped feet first into the pile of leaves, surprised when her feet didn’t hit ground.
Even more surprised when she was in that strange tunnel of leaves again and then…
Then she was once again in a completely different part of the city.
“What the hell…that’s…”
Thankfully she was alone but.
“Unbeleafable…I gotta tell Gwen.”

"Uh," Casablanca said, "that doesn't sound like a great--ah, ******** Corrupt was already gone, and Casablanca frowned. Honestly! That seemed completely unsafe and more than a little bit ridiculous. But the fact that she disappeared when she jumped into the leaves seemed to confirm Casablanca's theory, and that wa.s Honestly, sort of terrifying. The idea that even leaf piles could be...well, maybe not dangerous, but certainly risky? Because you never knew where you were going to pop out, and you might end up somewhere you didn't recognize, or somewhere actively unsafe? Yeah, that kind of sucked.
So, fine, she'd be avoiding leaf piles for the foreseeable future. That was great. She really liked that.
She sighed, and stood up, and dusted herself off. She'd have to go find somewhere else to be; maybe start making her way back home, because it was gonna be a long walk from here to there, and she didn't want to test to see if the leaf pile teleportation was a perfect two-way system. Maybe it would put her back where she'd left from, like a door. Maybe it would toss her out somewhere else.
Seemed like a bad idea to test it.
At least it was easier to walk, powered up as she was. She'd be back home soon enough, and she could call it quits for the night.
