1 - 5: Fire! A small fire has broken out at the local village. But what is on fire and who might be involved is up to you in your prompt response. Find a way to help keep it under control and get anyone out safely.
Hargitt 1
Winter was settling in for it's first substantial storm of the season. Because of the frigid winds and the snow that had been quickly piling up, Hargitt made the call to stop off at the closest village. Since it was little more than a trading post, the inn was on the smaller side, but warm and with a room large enough for the four of them. Getting inside was a quick affair and once their cart had been dealt with Hargitt was eager to get into some dryer clothes.
Sleep wasn't hard to come by. He'd pushed on farther than he would have normally to make sure they were somewhere safe during the storm, and would have been content to stay asleep if something wasn't tugging him awake. Consciousness didn't come to Hargitt easily, and when the sensation of being prodded continued he cleared his throat, half raising in the bed with a garbled, "Hmm?"
What was that smell?

Ishani 1
The little hybrid didn't remember getting to the inn that evening. She remembered how cold it was, and how she'd huddled up with her sister under the thickest blankets they had. At some point she'd even asked her papa about started a fire, but he hadn't wanted to stop. So, she snuggled up until she'd been comfortable and woke up only when a weird smell came to her nose.
It smelled like a campfire, but they were inside. At first, Ishani didn't see anything else so she'd been content to slip out of the bed she was sharing with Harlei to give her papa's arm a shake. The little one tiredly rubbed her eyes. "There's a weird smell comin' from outside," she murmured. And had she looked out the window she would have noticed smoke rising up and the faint flicker of flames.

Harlei 1
Like her sister she'd been too busy huddling up and trying to stay warm to really remember much of the trip. She had been too cold to walk so she knew she'd been carried in, she just didn't know by who. All she remembered was getting warm. After she'd made it into bed Harlei had cuddled up to her sister and was promptly out.
It wasn't until Ishani had moved out of the bed that she woke up again. As her sister made it over to the bed that their parents were in she stretched her body out as a yawn came. By the time she heard Ishani say something about a smell Harlei had sat up and was rubbing her eyes.

Rajani 1 With the storm being a bit of a bother she and Hargitt had agreed about moving on to somewhere a bit safer. Of course it left both of them exhausted. He'd been left to tend the cart while she got their things and the girls into a room then warmed up. Sleep was easy after all that and in truth the shifter didn't recall feeling the bed shift with Hargitt's weight. Rajani was out. That was until she heard her best friend make a noise some hours later and move to sit up. She groaned. The damned windling needed to learn how to sleep in! Not wanting him to wake the girls she moved a hand out to his head then shoved him back onto the bed sleepily. Then she heard one of the girls say something. At first she thought they might have had a nightmare, odd considering they hadn't had one in a long while, but when the words registered the shifter lifted her head to look over at the child. "Hm?"

Hargitt 2
Between Ishani shoving his arm, and Rajani pushing him onto the bed Hargitt knew he wasn't going back to sleep. When Hargitt opened his mouth to yawn he ended it on a confusing cough that left the man frowning. Why did it smell like-? Instant recognition hit him, and he looked over toward the window. They were on the second floor so the fact that he could see even the faintest tip of flames ripped him into consciousness. Without hesitation, he swung his legs over the side of the bed and touched the floor. It's still cold. That was good at least. "Up! Everyone up!"
In response to Rajani pushing him down, he reached over and shoved her hard. If she rolled off the bed then so be it; whatever woke her up fastest. Ishani was already awake and a quick look at Harlei told him that she was too.
Instead of looking for their coats, Hargitt pulled the heavy blanket from their own bed and wrapped Ishani in it before moving over to start bundling Harlei up in theirs. "Hold onto me." He scooped Harlei up.

Ishani 2She still didn't fully register what was going on. Even with her father springing to action it only made Ishani more confused, especially when a thick winter blanket was tossed over her. The little one struggled to shift it, doing her best to make a little hole for her head before she scuttled around to Rajani's side of the bed. He hadn't been nice when he shoved her, and now with the way papa was rushing around it was starting to get scary. "What's wrong? What's happening?" While her voice started as an uncertain murmur it picked up with a nervous edge.

Harlei 2
With the sleep rubbed from her eyes she managed to blink them open and turn her attention toward the rest of her family. Of course it was right about the time that her dad started to yell for everyone to get up. That made her eyes go a little wide and water due to the sudden change. Harlei had to blink them clear as she watched her mother get shoved and then Ishani get wrapped up in a blanket.
"Papa?" She questioned with a bit of a tremble in her voice. She couldn't remember him ever waking them up like that. By the time her question was out he was wrapping her up in another blanket and picking her up. A squeak left her as she clung to him the best she could through the blanket. "What's wrong?" Her question echoing her sister's.

Rajani 2 She wasn't quite awake yet but with Hargitt yelling for everyone to get up she furrowed her brow to look at him. What was wrong with him this morning? She opened her mouth to say something but it was then that the smell finally registered in her mind. Rajani quickly turned her head to look and just as she caught the faint sight of flame tips she was shoved off the bed. A squawk left her as she fell and then hit the floor. A second of reflection had her thinking about the time when she and Hargitt first met and she'd kicked him out of bed. Karma. The shifter didn't lay there for long, however, she was moving to get up in a second. By the time Ishani had come over to her side of the bed she was slipping on her boots. She glanced at the girl then over at Hargitt, he had Harlei in his arms already. "Put your boots on." She scolded him. Even if all he did was shove his feet in them it was better than nothing. Giving Ishani her attention again she finished slipping her own boots onto her feet then stepped forward to lift the girl up off the floor. "Looks like there's a bit of an emergency and we need to move to make sure its safe."

Hargitt adjusted Harlei so that she was half on his hip, but held in such a way that his crystals wouldn't harm her. He'd been so focused on getting everyone up and out that Rajani's comment about his boots caught Hargitt off guard. At first he turned to her, brows furrowed in a frustratingly confused look before it dawned on him. Growling, Hargitt whipped his head around before finally landing on the offending footwear and hastily slipping his feet inside. Because they settled further up his leg he was also forced to bend at the knee to at least secure some of the buckles, though he didn't bother with all of them. It was hard enough to get one with Harlei on his side, but he also didn't wanted out of there as quick as possible.
"I'm not sure what's going on, love; probably just someone being stupid." He pressed a kiss to Harlei's forehead and exchanged a look with Rajani before making for the door. The windling carefully touched the knob just in case, but when it came back cool he swung the door open and walked into the hall. "Do we try the stairs? Or check for a way out back?"

At first she thought Rajani was talking to her and the little one jolted with a squeak. She turned on impulse, grasping the edges of the blanket with her hands before she was scooped up. The little adjusted herself and did her best to hold onto her mother while keeping the blanket up as well. Looking around Rajani, she tried to make eye contact with Harlei, but then they were moving again.
The severity of their situation really didn't dawn on her until they got out into the hallway. Others were starting to stir on their rooms, and a scream from downstairs sent a shiver through her spine. There were several more voices from that way, but she couldn't make out the words.

She blinked when she heard her dad growl and for a second thought it was because she was asking questions. But then he bent awkwardly to put his boots on and she turned her head to look at her sister and mother. Finally she got the answer about what was going on and almost giggled by how Hargitt had said it was likely someone being stupid.
Once they were out in the hall she made sure to keep hold on her dad but her head was turning this way and that so she could look around. Harlei was curious if the other people knew anything, though she didn't ask them. As her father asked a question it brought her attention to him but she knew it wasn't meant for her to answer.

Rajani 3 She rolled her eyes at Hargitt's little growl. If the man wanted to go out in the cold with no shoes and get sick over something so small then let him. Of course she gave a triumphant smirk when she saw him putting them on. With Ishani in her arms and settled to one hip she was behind her best friend in an instant so they all exited to the hall together. Less chance to be split up that way. She spared little more than a glance to those coming out of their rooms. The question about the stairs or another way she nodded toward the steps. "Take the most obvious. No need to make it harder if there's no reason to. If they're blocked we'll find another way." Rajani was hoping that there was nothing preventing them from using the stairs as she was more than certain there wasn't another set in the back. Though there were windows.

She had a point. Hargitt nodded his head and stomped down the hall, pausing only long enough to exchange a look with another man standing in the doorway to his room. He wasn't about to drag the idiot outside, but Hargitt was clearly flummoxed as to why he wasn't taking some kind of precaution.
"...Smells like someone hasn't cleaned out the flew," he grumbled, passing a barely opened eye over the little family.
His comment faded behind Hargitt as he neared the stairs. While there was a stronger smell of smoke here, he couldn't make out any light from an approaching flame. "Keep an eye on your sister, girls," Hargitt warned as he started to descend. "We'll handle the rest."
Maybe giving them a task would help with anxiety; at the very least they could try. If anything it would free up himself and Rajani to look for the source or a way out, especially if the worst happened.

Unlike her sister, Ishani wasn't as keen to keep her mouth shut. She very nearly piped in when her parents started talking, then found the conversation close as they once again moved forward. Pouting, she settled back into Rajani's hold, only to turn her head once more to take in the other guest at the inn.
He was around her father's age, but with a bigger tummy and less hair. Curling her lip, Ishani turned her attention to the family as a whole. "Didn't you get clean rooms? How come the flew is bad?" Too bad she didn't know what a flew was. The word seemed familiar, but she couldn't place it...
Oh no! The ugly man was following them! And so were a few more people, though they looked a lot more awake than he had been.

Harlei 4
The blanket blocked her view of the man that came out of his room but she heard him well enough. She blinked a few times. Flew. Of course she then heard her sister say something about paying for rooms that weren't clean. "Dirty rooms? Papa." She groaned at him.
When she was given the task of looking after her sister, and vice versa, she did what she could to twist in the blanket without disturbing her dad's hold on her so that she could see Ishani. In doing so she was also able to see that others were coming out and down the hall as well.
Harlei pressed her lips into a thing line as she watched them all for a second. Then she looked back at her sister. "Its like follow the leader and papa is the leader."
