Solieyu was heavy when he wanted to be. But still, even if he was overly warm as he draped himself around Lysithea’s shoulders, she wouldn’t get rid of his weight and insane amount of fur for anything. He was her heavy fluffy monster, and that was all there was to it. “You know, if you were smaller, you could just sit on my head like a fur hat, just a thought that I had. Were you ever a kitten or did you just. Pop into the world full grown and the lovely monster that you are?”
It was a question she hadn’t ever really thought about before, but now that she had spoken it, she honestly wished that she could have seen Soleiyu as a kitten…he must have been adorable.
…Or ugly. Sometimes really beautiful cats were ugly in their awkward post kitten, pre adult years.
“Were you a kitten when you met me before? Not, not Cambria me but like…the other me.”
Since he had been there, he had known her. She had seen that much at least.
“I hope Ilse is interested in helping us out…and I really hope I can convince Varuna, she does seem sad, and kind of skittish…I’ll have to figure it out, but I hope we see some more cute animals up on Lysithea, that’s what I promised her, and I would hate to break a promise so quickly.”
With a sigh, Lysithea plopped herself down onto the swing to wait for Ilse, leaning to nuzzle Soleiyu’s furry face.

Soleiyu nuzzled back instinctively, already purring from all the attention. “If I were smaller, I wouldn’t be able to do all the projects I wanted to. I’m sure I could still sit on your head like a fur hat, you’d just have to work a little harder to keep me balanced up there. I’ll have you know that I’m very dexterous. And quite athletic.”
As much as an Earth cat, at least.
“I was a kitten once, but I don’t remember it. It’s mostly a blur. Sometimes I think things are familiar, but it's all foggy in my mind. I’m sure I was cute, though. Cuter than any animals you’ll find up on Lysithea. Though, I am glad to hear that you’re starting to see more of them. I should make you–oh, Lysithea. You should let me make you a little Pokédex for them. I could build you an app right into your phone, you could just scan them right in there. I bet I could make an algorithm to measure height. Probably weight, too.”
He’d been spending too much time listening to her and Evan play video games. Partly, he wanted to just give her something fun to do and encourage he to take pictures and document things when she could. “You can spend time with them and document things you learn about them. Maybe if you’re focused enough, you might even have some memories from your life back on Lysithea.”
He was excited for her, and excited to learn about anything and everything. And to make things for her, he just wanted to shower her in gifts–no matter how silly they might seem.
“Tell me if you find more when you go up with Varuna. And don’t worry so much about Ilse, you know how much she likes you. I’m sure she’ll be interested in helping out. If she gives you any resistance, I’ll just use my cute face and win her over.”

An invitation from Lysithea was always going to make Ilse come running. It didn't matter what it was for, or when it was offered; Lysthiea called, and she came, and that was it.
So she appeared in the park, all smiles and excitement, and waved to Lysithea and Soleiyu as soon as she saw them.
"Hi!" She called, and she jogged forward the last little bit. "Was there something you guys needed me for? Something I could maybe help with, or?"
It didn't matter, really, whatever they wanted, she was there.

The smile on Lysithea’s face was warm and genuine when Ilse came bounding over and she nodded, extending her hand to the other senshi. “First off, I have butt wings, which…is maybe the most important thing to discuss, and second off, I wondered if you might want to help me with a project that…well, not a project but a mission? See, I’m working to get the court back together as a unit again now that I don’t feel so utterly useless, Adria has said that he’s comfortable with me taking over again so…this is a formal invitation from me to you asking if you’d like to join our court…ah…name to be figured out later, if we even decide we need a name.”
Of course it was a lot to ask, and Lysithea knew it was a lot to ask…but she also had the hope that Ilse would say yes.
“I , and please don’t let this sway your opinion one way or another, but I honestly can’t imagine doing this without you.”

Soleiyu perked up almost immediately when Ilse arrived; he’d already been in a good mood, but something seemed to have caught his interest. His tail always seemed to swish about, but now it was a bit more active, a bit more intentional–and an obvious sign that he was very focused on something.
Very excited about something.
But, it could wait. He smiled at Ilse in greeting, as much as his little cat face would allow, but he adjusted himself so he could listen in without interrupting. As much as he loved the sound of his own voice, beyond a basic greeting to welcome Ilse, her answer was more important than anything he had to say.
For now.

Ilse hadn't really known what specifically to expect, of course, but the offer immediately made her light up. Honestly, a marriage proposal probably wouldn't have had her so excited.
(okay, maybe a marriage proposal, but that wasn't forthcoming, obviously, so.)
Lysithea wanted her as part of her court. Lysithea couldn't imagine doing it without her. Lysithea thought she was useful, which was--it was so much more than Ilse thought of herself. She knew that she was pretty acceptable as a Senshi, sure, but for the most part....she was a coward, and she never knew when to stay and when to flee, and she got herself in too deep, but--
But if she was really good enough to be part of a Court?
"Yes! Yes, yes, yes, of course! Of course I want to do this with you! I could never imagine saying no!"

Lysithea gave a small sigh of relief and smiled, nodding. “All right then, good. I’m going to have a meeting with everyone soon…just to figure out where to get things off of the ground again…obviously we should know one another pretty well, and I know you know Malus, and know of Adria. I’m working on getting another member to join us, but that’s still a work in progress…the progress seems good though.”
At least she hoped that it did. It felt like it was going well. The picnic would be soon at least, and things would be figured out then.
“When are you free? We can figure things out then!”
Reaching up, she tugged Soleiyu into her arms, pressing a kiss to his furry head and giving him a gentle hug before putting him on the ground. He had been twitching and his fur was tickling her ear and neck.

Soleiyu had no reason to hold his breath, and yet he found himself exhaling when Ilse agreed to join the Court. It was a relief. It was good news.
And, he thought he had some more of his own.
Not that he was withholding it or going to deny it from Ilse if she hadn’t joined the Court! It’s just, he needed her to make her mind up before he bribed her.
“Well, don’t make too many plans just yet. I have something I want to say, too. Ilse, I need to see your Henshin Pen for a moment. If you don’t mind. It’s good news. I mean, as long as you like power. But your starseed is just humming right now, it’s so hard to focus.”

Ilse nodded. "I'm free...whenever, really," she said. "I, um, work from home," because she was self-publishing romance novels, because apparently the girl she used to be had been smart enough to download her drafts, "so I can just take a break whenever."
She felt something warm and soft settle in her chest. She was wanted. She was important to someone. She was...she was part of something, something big and beautiful and magical.
Solieyu, then, drew her attention, and her eyes went wide as she proffered her pen.
"Wait, like...like after I purified? When I was ready to get stronger?"
