Imri wasn't much of a fisherman.

That being said, utilizing the landscape around him was the easiest way to catch a meal for his family. He could lay nets in the river when darkness still held sway over the mystical island, and once the sun had risen through the mist he could collect his quarry. Normally Imri would make his way to the river bank much earlier in the day, but he'd actually run through some training drills with Zivah that morning. It was...more akin to two wolves going for the jugular than any actual training, but it helped.

Maybe? Maybe.

His eye was swollen, his arms ached, but when Imri stepped into that river his heart was full. He'd been complimented on his skills and that...that was something.

So, for once, the young hybrid was actually smiling as he pulled in the nets. He'd forsaken his cloak, choosing to hang it on a nearby tree and wore nothing beyond his skivvies.

Zohra had been left to do the washing as Lynx had to go back into town for something. He wasn't sure what because he hadn't been paying any attention to his brother to be honest.

That meant that he was stripped down to his pants, though the legs were rolled up to avoid being completely soaked. He was also back to being absolutely horrible about his situational awareness. A whole hunting party could have snuck up on him and he'd not have known it. Why? Well, because he was too busy splashing the laundry into the water and signing to himself.

He didn't even take notice of any movement in his peripheral since he was too focused.

At first Imri didn't much over the sounds of nature around him. Everytime he moved the net fish would flop about, then his own movement would cause water to splash and anything in the distance was drowned out. However, once he'd fully drug the last of the net out of the water onto the nearby shoreline and was busy tossing the fish into a basket he could hear...something.

The hybrid turned a curious look upstream and slowly started to fold the net. If it was someone else he really didn't want to get involved, but if it was an issue...well, better to handle it here than to have it follow him home. Laying the folded net ontop of his haul, Imri gathered his things into the basket and instead of putting his clothes back on he simply hiked upstream.

Basket on hip, he maneuvered up the river bank until he saw a distinctly familiar and yet unfamiliar sight. It was Zohra, again, except this time he was in...much the same situation Imri was....and he decided to try something.

Slowly, agonizing so, Imri sat his basket on the shore. Inch by inch he slipped into the water downstream, making sure to stay near Zohra's blind spots and moved closer to the other. When he was as close as he dared get, Imri spoke in that deep tone, "Laundry day?"

Imri wouldn't need to try too hard to go unnoticed. Zohra was lost in his own world. Not only was he singing a little shanty but he was scrubbing at his brother's pants because he noticed a stain. His field of vision was basically narrowed down to that one spot.

So when Imri managed to sneak up behind him and spoke in his deep timbre, Zohraduri sucked in a breath as he jumped clear out of his own skin and turned too quickly for his own feet because he ended up falling into the water. Graceful.. From his spot sitting in the water he lifted a single hand up to wipe the rolling drips off his face. The earthling stared up at Imri. "Y-yeah.. Hey." He let out a breath and ended up chuckling nervously. "You scared me, Imri." His eyes darted around to make sure the other boy was alone. Zohra wasn't sure he could handle more than one angry Aishan.

He couldn't help the quick bark of laughter that slipped out. That look that crossed the smaller hybrid's face before he fell was utterly priceless! Still, that didn't mean the laughter hung around long and when it faded there was a decidedly proud smirk in it's wake.

"Good for me-" Imri dropped down into a crouch and leaned in closer to Zohra with his smirk, "-bad for you." After a moment of enjoying his victory, he started to stand and offered a hand as he did so. He might have liked the rush of giving someone a fright, but he wasn't about to be a bad sport. At least one of his mother's tried to give him morals.

The laughter was met with a weak glare but that turned into a bit of a wide eyed look as Imri crouched down and smirked. If Zohra had thought the shifter hybrid was cute the last time they met then he was freaking hot this time. Cue the internal gay panic. It wasn't like Zohra didn't already know he was into guys but did Imri have to be so damned attractive?

He gave a slight whine but did what he could to disguise it as a groan as he rubbed his face with both hands now. When he could see again he noticed the hand that was offered to him. He took it then proceeded to get up. "So much for staying dry.." He complained.

"I take it you aren't doing laundry, so what brings you out here. Or did I get too close to your home?" He had been warned the last time.

"Catching dinner." Imri gave a half turn to point toward his basket of fish. For the most part it was stationary on the shore, but occasionally one of the poor saps would slap against the side. He'd been too curious about the noise to really bother finished the job so he just assumed they would die with time.

"You're really close so I wouldn't go any further upstream. My mother and sister are back from their trip so-" He clucked his tongue and raised his brows, though only the right actually did anything. The left was still a little too swollen to move much. "-I'd keep your washing here."

Though, looking at what Zohra had been working on gave him pause. That didn't look much like something the other would wear. "Your brother's?"

He looked to where the other pointed and saw the basket. A nod was given as he noticed it. Of course Imri was doing something practical. It wasn't like the guy would just be out and about scaring people for fun. Would he?

Learning that his mother and sister were back from their trip made him look at Imri with a bit of concern. But it lasted only a second since he didn't want Imri to mistake it for something else. Zohra had learned already that he was touchy on some things. Which is also why he kept any questions about what happened to his face to himself. Best to not insult him and end up under the water or with his back to a tree again.

The question about the pants being his brothers was met with a raised brow. "Nope." He popped the 'p' at the end sarcastically. "Its my boyrfriend's... yes, its my brothers. You think I'd wear it?" He chuckled a little and shook his head. "I got stuck with the wash since Lynx went out to do something." He shrugged his shoulders with little care. Doing domestic things wasn't so bad.

From the sound of things it sounded like Zohra was left behind almost, if not as often, as Imri was. He had to wonder if the situation between the siblings were the same as his own, but Imri was smart enough not to ask. What good would knowing do for either of them?

"Nope." He popped the 'p' as well. "Not enough flair for you." While the garment didn't look terrible, at least from Imri's limited knowledge of style, it definitely wasn't meant for Zohra. "And it couldn't be a boyfriend's; not that many shifters on Yael and less hybrids." Now that he'd sufficiently done his deed Imri turned away from Zohra and started walking away. He didn't move back to the shoreline though; rather, he went to a rock a few feet away and sat atop it. The spot was just warm enough to held relax his muscles, but cool with his legs in the water.

"Whatever kind of training you do where you come from isn't working if I was able to sneak up on you like that."

Alright, he had a point about it not having enough flair. He loved his brother but Lynx needed to learn how to accessorize at the very least. The Imri took a shot at the boyfriend comment and Zohra felt his cheeks heat up. So Imri remembered that he had a thing for Shifter hybrids. Great. Inwardly he felt the need to bang his head off a tree and go hide in a dark cave. "Okay, you have a point there." He watched the other boy walk away. And if his gaze dropped down the span of the shifter hybrid's back then that was his business.

When Imri sat down Zohra collected the pants he'd been working on before he'd been startled. He did look at the other boy with a bit of a surprised look at the mention of training though. "I don't really do any training like that." Though his mother would be disappointed that Imri had been able to sneak up on him. Zohra could probably hold his own in a fight, or at the very least give as much as he got, but he wasn't going to be winning many brawls.

He didn't? Imri's brow raised at the admission and his lazy smile dropped into confusion. "What kind of training do you do then?" Even if he didn't wield a weapon shouldn't Zohra at least be working on hand to hand combat and situational awareness? What was going to happen the first time someone snuck up on him with a dagger or tried to sweep his legs out from under him?

Imri tried to remember if the other hybrid had said anything about his work the last time they'd met, but honestly, even if he had that wouldn't be what Imri remembered.

At the question of the type of training he did he tilted his head at Imri for a second before he moved a step or two away from him. Zohra then held up his left hand, palm up, and focused. A second later the air above his hand became heated enough to ignite. A flame burst to life and danced from side to side before turning color. It went from the typical orange red glow to a searing yellow white.

Zohra then looked over at Imri. "This kind. I don't really have to worry about someone getting close enough to touch me." Well, except him. "Usually." Imri had managed to get up close more than once. Maybe he should work on the physical stuff more.

A playful smirk crossed his face. "Wouldn't mind see you train though." As he said that he let the flame die out.

Imri sat a little straighter, arms still languidly laid across his thighs, as he watched. At first he wasn't sure what to expect. Usually when those around him help a hand it was for silence or a halt in movement on the hunt, but this was something all together different. His eyes widened, attention completely taken up by the display before him and for a moment he forgot where he was.

There wasn't a hardened teen, but rather a boy, eagerly watching magic that he'd never seen up close.

"How'd you do that? Making it change color?" He'd never seen a flame shift like that before, magical or otherwise. His entire being was reinvigorated with a sort of energy that Imri didn't often show around others. As odd as it was he was excited.

"My training isn't as flashy as that. I've never seen magic up close. Sometimes some of the yaeli in the earthling villages have it, but they don't stick around long. Most end up in Pajore to train."

Zohra looked at his hand for a second before he realized what it was Imri was referring to by the color of the flame. "Oh, I just imagined it hotter. The color can usually tell you how hot the fire it or if someone added something to it." He shrugged his shoulders. He was working on making it colder so that it wouldn't burn anyone or anything but would still provide light in the darkness.

"I'm only good with fire magic, though I have been trying other elements." Zohra just had a knack for the hot stuff.

"I'm sure you are capable of much more than I am though. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to sneak up on you." Zohra could be quiet but he could never sneak up on his mother so he doubted he'd be able to startle Imri.

Imri features pinched further and he tilted his head to the side a bit. "You just...imagined it hotter?" That was a thing? A real thing? Granted, he didn't know much of magic and even less of color changing fires so it was possible. "Do you ever burn yourself or set something on fire that you didn't mean to?" With blades and traps there was a certain level of control. To Imri they made more tangible sense than something that just appeared and could change intensity at will.

When Zohra talked of sneaking Imri's immediate reaction was to snort and sit up a little straighter. "Well, no; you'd never be able to. With something like that, though, you wouldn't have to." He vaguely gestured back toward Zohra's hand.
