Her excitement about seeing new things got the best of her so she was a bit farther ahead of her mother than she intended to be. Calixa was gasping at this and that, pointing out things and moving right along. "Uma! Look!"

Her feet ended up taking her through the streets of the city until, in a moment of distraction, she ended up running into someone. To avoid falling backeard she latched onto them and did what she could to steady herself. "Oof! Sorry!" the automatic response left her mouth before she even got a chance to turn her head back to see who she'd collided with.

Kahukura wasn't sure why she was here.

The Elarian hybrid clutched the strap of her crossbody satchel with both hands as she walked. Her very-Aishan size made her an easy target for gawking eyes, and the uniqueness of her type brought about a variety of murmurs. She hated cities and villages back home, but in foreign lands they were so much worse. Sometimes they spoke in dialects she'd never heard before, she needed to have words repeated and they didn't understand her accent...Goddess, this was a nightmare.

Still, she needed supplies and there was only so long she could stretch her goods. She'd been so focused on just trying to survive that she couldn't avoid being run into and Kahukura found herself gripping them as well just so she didn't fall. Her heart was beating so quick it was a wonder it didn't cause a fire!

"I-It's fine..." She murmured, and her eyes widened a bit. She'd been run into by...an Aishan? This wasn't an Alkidike, but she wasn't Elarian and - ooooh no, she was still touching her. Kahukura dropped contact almost immediately, but unfortunately for her the other girl had not.

She hadn't expected them to grab onto her as well but Calixa didn't mind, fair was fair. The Vandrea looked at who she'd run into and went wide eyed witha look of pure excitement. She did notice that the girl let go but Calixa was still holding on as she darted her gaze from one pretty feature to the next. "Ee! Uma! Look at her! Wait.." The younger looked down to make sure it was a girl. She'd heard of hybrids being males before. "Yeah, it's a her!" with that confirmed she went back to ogling at the unique appearance of the girl. Clearly she still hadn't figured out she had gotten too far ahead of her mother.

"Pretty markings. Oh and those antenna." Calixa reached up to gently poke at the girl's feelers. "A Yaeli mix?" She was going to have to write it down. The special traits and all. She'd developed a bit of an obsession with which traits were passed down in family lines.

"W-wai...hang on...oh no..." Her smaller, meeker voice was being drown out and it didn't seem like that would be changing anytime soon. For every move that the other girl made to get closer Kura leaned back until she was comically trying to distance herself. It was hard not to notice the brazen way she'd been...looked at and Kahukura's cheeks burned. "I'm a her." She knew she wasn't as feminine as her sister, but still...

She hadn't seen Aishan eyes in so long that the scope of them was both familiar and terrifying, especially now that they were in such a vibrant gold. "I don't....have markings? Can you let me go? I can talk I just...this is a little awkward."

She tilted her head at being told that the girl didn't have markings. But Calixa was clearly looking right at the black things. Then it dawned on her. "Oh. Sorry. Earthlings call them crystals. I just call them markings. They are unique to the earthling just like our markings are to us. Same thing." The younger of the two shrugged but then bounced back on her heels.

She let go of the other girl then circled around her so that she could look her over, up and down. "I'm super excited to meet you! Do you have a name? What is it?" By the time she'd gotten the question out she was already back to being in front of the girl and on her tiptoes leaning closer. It was as if Calixa didn't know what personal space was.

Oh, okay, so she wasn't invasive she was just crazy.

When Kahukura was freed she stumbled a little since she'd leaned so far away. Even once she straightened herself the hybrid had a way of hunching forward, almost as if she were trying to hide herself in a crowd that she very much would never blend into.

There were Obans walking past who didn't even try to hide the amusement on their faces. A few whispered among themselves, and a pair of teenage boys chuckled which very nearly caused Kura to lose her lunch with anxiety. She didn't even realize the other Aishan had come back to her frontal view until she was quite literally back in her face.

"Kahukura," She said hurriedly, eyes darting everywhere but directly at where the other's were. "Uhm, can we talk somewhere less open? Maybe a tavern or a bench...or an alley..."

Her attention was only on the girl in front of her so she didn't notice the stares and whispers they were getting. Though in all honesty she wouldn't have cared about them. She'd had enough of the stares and whispers because of her odd family from some of the pure Aishans.

Still, she did noticed the way the girl seemed to avoid looking at her and wanted to talk somewhere that wasn't so public. So Calixa leaned back to give her a smidgen of space. "Sure. Alley has less people and it's right there." The Vandrea pointed just a ways up from where they were standing. It also would give Kahukura more air than a stuffy tavern. "Are you shy?"

Finally. It wasn't much, but at least Kahukura had enough space to breath and now that they were moving toward the alleyway she felt better in her own skin. The crawling sensation that usually overcame her in the wake of a panic started to ebb, but she still couldn't help looking over her shoulder just in case.

She didn't care at all that she was all out hustling toward the alley and that the act in itself drew far more attention than just standing in the street. By the time she made it into the small, little alcove she allowed herself to breath.

"...Hmm? Oh, uh, yeah, I guess." Adjusting the grip she had on her satchel strap, she turned back to the other girl. "Sorry I'm just...not used to crowds and...questions like that. What did you say your name was?"

Calixa watched as the other girl practically ran for the alley. Her head tilted off to the side but the answer she got about being shy pretty much explained it all. Her mouth opened in an 'Ah' position but no sound came out as she nodded. The Vandrea understood that. She didn't feel it herself, shyness wasn't a thing she often experienced - if ever.

"I'm Calixa." She once again gave a large smile. "I guess most people aren't used to those kinds of questions but I like to ask. I get curious about people. How they look. The kind of person they are. Who they are related to." She reached up and scratched at the tip of her right ear. "I like learning about people."

"Uhm, well...if I let you ask me some questions could I ask you some?" As much as she really didn't want to talk about herself, Kahukura might be able to get some information about the area from Calixa. She didn't seem opposed to talking so she likely could have gotten the information without a formal trade, but honestly, Kura was hoping the exchange would keep the personal questions to a minimum.

"What kind of Aishan are you? I've never seen one that looks like you before." Unless she was some kind of hybrid? But Kahukura didn't know any earthlings with that kind of skintone either so it was strange.

She didn't have a problem answering questions. Calixa usually liked to share anyways so she nodded with a grin on her face. "Absolutely!" Her hands were balled into fists in front of her as she practically bounced on her feet.

The question about which Aishan she was didn't surprise her. So she offered a little giggle before answering. "I'm Vandrea. My Mother Tree is Azehra." Calixa had thought about telling Kahuhura where she was from but wasn't sure if that was such a good idea, her Mother Tree was still young and needed protecting. So that was all she said for now.

"I'm learning about the earthlings since there are so many. Was I right about you being part Yaeli? The black markings.. er, crystals.. those are a trait of theirs. Right?" She didn't have her journal out so she would have to remember the information to jot down later.

"Vandrea..." Well, that definitely explained why she hadn't heard of them before. She'd known about the Elidae because a few had come to visit with Elzira, but Azehra was new. "Where is Azehra?" It wasn't the question she'd initially intended on asking, but Kura was more than a little curious now.

Still, there was her end of the bargain and she nodded. "My father is yaeli and my mother is an Elarian. I got my crystals from him. My sister got both; markings and crystals, that is." Rawiri may have been more subdued color wise, but she inherited a certain amount of elegance that made her traits exotic. Kahukura's innate unease with the world around her made hers look like a cyrptid.

There was the question. Calixa thought about it for a second, one hand grabbing a stray lock of her hair and twisting it a bit. "Ah well.. Belrea." She wasn't giving a specific location so surely that wasn't so bad? Besides, this girl was part Aishan too so she wouldn't hurt another Mother Tree, right?

With the confirmation about the Yaeli she was back to smiling. "I knew it!" Of course she was happy to know she got something right. Information was important. Then there was a gasp. "You have a sister!? Does she look like you? My sister doesn't look like me but we came from different Mother Trees." To her that was normal. They shared traits of their mother - their markings - but each were unique and hard to place if one didn't know the common element.

Kahukura felt her cheeks warming. "Wasn't much of a guess; yaeli are pretty distinctive." As far as she knew there weren't any other earthlings that looked like them and their eyes set them apart from everyone else. She'd almost given a little smile when her brows raised out of shock. The Vandrea really had an unlimited amount of energy, didn't she?

"She does, sort of. We both have antennae, crystals and our mother's skin tone. Our eyes are almost similar but hers are silver, she has markings and I have this." She held up her hand to show her pink fade. They were similar enough that others in the community could distinguish them as sisters, but different in the smallest of ways.

"Do you know which way Jauhar is? I was trying to get there, but I got turned around in the city."

She gave a bit of a grin to that. "Fair. Though I'm used to seeing Geian's and Lightning, not the rest of them. There are a few that visit Belrea but.. it's limited." So that meant her knowledge was limited as well, but she was learning. She knew about Shifter's because of her mother and sister. And while she'd also be taught about the other races she hadn't really seen many of them. And she often got the Matori mixed up with some of the Kahikina races.

When the hand was lifted to show the color fade, Calixa stepped forward to capture her hand and inspect it. Of course she knew about that. She had her own color fade in a different color. "Its always amazing to see what traits people get from their parents." When she was done looking she let go.

Of course the question about which way Jauhar was brought her eyes back up to the girl's face. "Oh yeah. We're on our way there too." Calixa looked around the alley, trying to locate the general direction she'd need to point to. It was hard without more landscape details but when she looked at the sky she could tell a bit better. So she pointed. "It'll be that way. Jauhar is North of Oba."
