Corrupted Senshi were starting to become a fixture of Caer Sidi's evenings. This was the third one she'd run into in the past week or so, and the third pretty girl, too.

It was a nice enough evening; the temperatures were finally really starting to come down, towards the nice, maybe-cardigan weather of early fall, and with her long, heavy dress, Caer Sidi was ready to say goodbye to summer, thanks. She'd plopped herself on a bench, stretched her legs out in front of her, and sagged backwards, when she felt the Corrupt aura nearby--and that got her to stand, and look around, ducking around a corner to spot the Senshi.

Things had gone pretty well with Lazurite, so maybe they'd go okay with this one, too.

"Hello," she said, tentatively. Purple hair, but not the same purple as the one she'd run into before--so that was a good thing.

Tristan was still trying to figure out what she wanted to do about things.

It was so easy to talk to those of the White Moon…sometimes she still…really did wish that she was one of them again but…

But she truly didn’t regret Gwen. She couldn’t regret the choices that she made.

Of course, when she felt the aura of a Squire, her first thought was that it was Starlight and she made her way over without any hesitation. He was different. He was her friend first and…he didn’t count as someone who was her enemy…he…he was too good to ever be anyone's enemy.

She had her hand up, poised to wave, to greet her friend but…it wasn’t Starlight after all. It was a girl. A different Squire and…well. She wasn’t attacking, but Tristan kept a little bit of distance between them. “Ah. Hi.”

The Senshi seemed hesitant. That was...actually good, probably. At least she wasn't rushing in to attack. And so Caer Sidi could be calm and friendly right back, and wiggle her fingers in a little wave.

"I'm Caer Sidi, of Cosmos. Your name?" She asked. It was probably polite to do that, right? Ugh, she never felt less like she knew how to interact with other people than she did as Caer Sidi. Jolene had spent so much of her life at fancy parties being shown off like a prize pony, talking to people much older than her, and she'd always liked to think she was adept at it.

But older rich people had a certain set of social expectations that were, generally, not shared by the people she met in this magical war. So. There was that.

Watching Caer Sidi, Tristan hesitated and then blew out a breath, nodding in response to the wave. “Sailor Tristan. It’s nice to meet you, I’m…” She sighed. “I’ve never met someone of Cosmos before. But I know of a Knight of Polaris. He’s a sweet kid. Not sure if you would know him or not…I actually, had thought it was him when I felt you, so that’s…why I came over so quickly but.”

She hesitated and moved a few steps closer, holding out her hand.

It wasn’t to fight. She didn’t want to fight, but…she did want some answers.

“Trust in Me…I want you to answer a few questions for me, all right, Caer Sidi? It’ll be perfectly safe.” Her voice was soft, but her magic was rather strong.

Noir Songbird
Trust in Me: Tristan holds both hands to her heart, and then extends them out towards her opponents. For thirty seconds the opponents will be compelled to trust whatever Sailor Tristan says, with the exception of her saying something that would involve death or side swapping or identity revealing. The opponents must be within a five foot range of Tristan. This attack can be used twice per battle affecting two people each time.

"Oh! Well, it's nice to be the first Cosmos Knight you've met," Caer Sidi said. That made it much more worrying--did this mean that she needed to make a good impression, on behalf of her whole Knightly order and her Princess? She would do her best, she supposed... "It's very nice to meet you, too, Tristan."

She felt a brief moment of confusion, seeing the extended hand, and the odd words, but it faded away quickly.

This was someone kind. Someone she could trust.

"What sort of questions?" She asked. "I'll do my best to answer."

Tristan nodded, giving a bright smile. “That’s right. I’m glad! I just…if you had someone you loved that was on the other side of the war…would you go and join them, join with the Negaverse, or would you try to convince them…try to force them to come to your side? What would ever compel you to join my team?”

It was as good a question as any. And if she could get an answer using her magic…it would be honest and not…well. Not filled with propaganda. “Please though, imagine that the person you loved had been your role model for the entire time you were powered…but then the next time you saw them, they were chaos…what would you do, Caer Sidi?”

It was doubtful that she could have anything close to the same situation but…

Damnit. She needed to know if she had really made the correct choices.

The question froze Caer Sidi in her tracks.

It was impossible, of course. Hyperborea was Transcended, and would never choose Chaos besides. But...but if...if that were to happen...

"There is...someone like that, for me. I love her, and she's helped me grow as a Kngiht and as a person, and if she were on the other side..." Caer Sidi's gaze drifted off, and she thought. "I think....I'm a very selfish person," she said, "and not a very good Knight, because...I think I would go after her. Because being with her....that would be more important to me than anything else."

Part of her couldn't believe she was admitting something like that out loud. Certainly, she couldn't breathe a word of that sort of feeling to Ciel. Especially because she was sure that if she ever fell to Chaos, Ciel would do everything in her power to bring her home. But Caer Sidi knew herself.

"I'd choose her. Over anything else, I think."

Tristan drew in a sharp breath, and it sounded loud to her own ears. For a moment she simply stood there, her hand curling into a fist and beginning to tremble. “...I did. I chose my mentor. My girlfriend. I love her too, and I chose to join her. I just. I’m glad to know that you…that someone on your side of things…would do the same.”

It…relieved her. Dissipated some of the guilt, honestly, and after a moment, the Corrupted senshi looked back up at the Squire. “...It’s not bad, you know. In the Negaverse. But, I’m not sure I would be as happy if I didn’t have my Gwen with me. I know I should try to convince you to join as well but…” She shrugged. “Follow your girl. Follow your heart, and stay true to her. I like that. I like love.”

She gave a suddenly sheepish smile. “...Not going to lie though. Now I kind of want to be friends and I…do kind of hope you both end up coming over so that we can…really be friends and go on double dates and do stupid things like that…I think you’d like my Gwen a lot. I’m…really glad I got to meet you tonight.”

Caer Sidi nodded. That...made sense. She could understand that.

"I hope you two are happy," she said. The Negaverse...it was evil, awful, hurt people. But if someone went into it for love...surely that would be alright. And anyway, she'd just acknowledged that she herself would do the same, so she was pretty sure she couldn't condemn someone else. "I don't think...my girlfriend is Transcendent. She has these glowing markings on her skin--and as I understand, they protect her from Chaos."

She smiled, a little nervously. "But I'd like to be friends anyway, if that's something we can do. I'm glad to have met you, too, Tristan."

It was good to know that the Negaverse wasn't all awful people. Well, more than Lazurite.

Tristan nodded and drew in a long, slow breath. “I’ll let you go…um. Thank you for talking with me. I hope…I mean. I’d like to be friends too…but, we can figure that out if we see one another again…”

She gave a little smile and then waved, her eyes looking terribly sad for a moment before she teleported away. Away from the danger of the Knight. Away from the temptation of the White Moon.

The temptation that simply shouldn’t exist.
