Daphne was still furious after meeting up with that stupid senshi. One who just threw her kindness back into her face in the form of insults and anger and…
She drew in a breath, slowing herself to a sedate walk as she headed back to her apartment, though she had decided to stop at the store to get something sweet for the night. It seemed like some ice cream could make the night a little better. Maybe…maybe she could go out of her way and get some milk too, make milkshakes for herself and Crystal. It would be nice, and a fun treat and…
And maybe it would get the bad taste out of her mouth that the b***h senshi had put there.
For a moment, Daphne’s eyes burned with sudden unshed tears, but she swiftly wiped her arm across her eyes, destroying the evidence of her unhappiness before she entered the corner store, happy that there was some place open late so that the idea of spontaneous milkshakes could be possible.
With a nod to the bored looking clerk, Daphne made her way to the freezer section and stared at the choices for several minutes before she decided on a pint of cookie dough, and a pint of a chocolate cherry mixture that was always good.
Now that the hard part was taken care of, she went and grabbed a half gallon of milk as well…surely that would be enough for two…large milkshakes. Honestly it might be too much, but she wasn’t sure that the smaller size would be enough…and then.
Well.
And then Daphne’s eyes landed on the liquor cave and after a small battle with herself, she went inside and found a small bottle of cherry flavored vodka, and decided that it was a good night to make boozy milkshakes. That was possible, wasn’t? All you had to do was put some of the vodka in when you mixed it up…it would work. She was…moderately sure that it would work…if the vodka didn’t curdle the milk…but.
Eh. If that happened they could figure something else out, and that was why she had gotten the half gallon anyway.
Just to be on the safe side, Daphne went back to the freezer and grabbed two extra pints of the ice cream and as she made her way to the counter and pulled out her ID, she gave a sheepish smile at the look of mild concern on the face of the cashier.
“Yeah…yeah it’s been a long night, you don’t have to say anything.” Her words were almost embarrassed but…she was sure that the girl had seen worse. Still though.
Still.
With the double bagged goods held in one hand, Daphne set herself back on the journey to the apartment, moving a bit faster this time as she had ice cream that would melt…and there was no point in making a milkshake with ice cream soup.
Tonight…had sucked. But…now they would have tipsy milkshakes, and she would have Crystal cuddles so…maybe…
Maybe it would be better from here.
She hoped it would, at least.
